Found the old thread when my x-45 died, it was Nov 2012 so I have owned this for just over 5 years. Trawling through the internet and it's difficult to get anything other than logitek of thrust master here in UK, even c h is very rare.

my x-52 has given it up , throttle ok but connection between throttle and joystick o/c must be a bust wire or connector- so need a new one - any suggestions appreciated if I get another x-52 then I wont have to map all my buttons again so thats favourite is the pro version any better?

mine is a 35 yr old linn basic so not worth much now, still sounds fantastic

ok so went to forum, win 7 users have to update their .net, and can load it now

well surprise , mine isnt launching after update, I have beta thing off and have varified files ............ not that bothered as dont play it as I still think its a clustfuck of a game, so much potential ruined

I was going to put up some videos but files were too big so here is screen shots from 2 nextbase cams- first my cam and second my friends, thats my GT86 in view you can see the model numbers in pics, mine is higher spec cams come with their own software or you can use quickview, there is sound as well as video. they take 3 minuite sections and there are plenty of options hope this helps Dave

I found for too fast with the cherval profile I used in il2 , I use the smooth profile that comes with for and find it helps, I'll try to make Monday as well

Do you use the launcher or exe ? best to use exe ( mine is found here "C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game\Il-2.exe" ) One thing to try is to put the exe and master server address in the exceptions list for your firewall

I'm in for Monday, Wednesday or Thursday as long s icons and GPS are on, I don't like the icons but they are better than without, I don't think this game displays dots or planes very well and makes it unplayable to me without the icons

Ok Im flying a fair bit on the servers to test them out, here are some thoughts There are generally only 4 or 5 busy servers at european time these are Wings of liberty Tactical Air War Finnish VirtualPilots DEDs European server These fill up fast and are sometimes you cant get on them as they are full but the others have under 10 on them Im finding the no icon servers really difficult as Im flying alone , Its nearly impossible to spot the dots especially down low, I spot them, dive in and they dissapear. full real tend not to use chat and Iv yet to try their teamspeak So Im flying mainly on DED server untill I can get up to speed. They at least use chat and try to co-ordinate but it can be a bit air-quake with everyone bunched up in one area. I will try wings of liberty next with teamspeak but It would be good if we could get one of the more full real types with short icons on but I guess that either not possible or there is no demand.

I agree about tir , Iv used charvels profile for ever but it was too fast, Im using a slow smooth setting now and much better

I have attatched my basic layout for Box in a spreadsheet below , you can see if that looks ok or you can tweak it to suit. This is for a x-52 so has 3 positions + shift giving 6 options. Mode 3 has not been set up as this is my bombing mode and Iv not got round to setting this up for BoX . What is your stick ? Do you have throttle and rudders and track IR ? What games? I can send you my x-52 setup if any use, I have it on a spreadsheet. As crash said tho I have slightly different between il2 46 and box as box does not support rotaries

ok , Iv found out some problems with profile I had set up , it had copied in some bindings from one mode to the next on trigger 2 and this was playing havoc, Iv gone over all my settings in game and in profile, sorted any conflicts( game doesnt like some shift functions) and it seems to be ok now, @jabo saitek have been taken over by logitek who have released drivers , see here http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/x52-space-flight-simulator-controller/downloads I will test next week and see if I have found the source thanks again for input guys, appreciate it

reason Im asking is Im still getting random problems with BoS and my controller X-52. It worked fine when I updated the drivers but now has again started having random freezes when I use the mode switch. Once it happens the plane goes to autopilot and all the inputs are mucked up e.g hat 1 movement fires guns but not mapped to that in any way in game or profile, I have to restart game to cure it other random view problems happen sometimes when Im closing in for kill and using hat 1 to zoom into sight with view locking into strange position, again in no way mapped in control section of game, in fact Iv deleted all the snap and padlock views from control section. I cant replicate issues in game by joystick actions/button pushes to see if it is a joystick problem , its totally random Everything works fine in other games and in game controllers and when I test the joystick in the profiller but something is happening in game. I cant use joytokey now as it only recognises two joysticks 1 and 2 and I have 4 with the new touchpads taking over 1 and 2; ch rudders 3 and joystick 4 and of course I cant find an easy way to reassign these in windows 7 so Im thinking of updating to windows 10 from windows 7 if thats a possible solution, whats your experiences with windows 10 , is it ok? or will it cause more issues or am I barking up wrong tree its really driving me mad as game is unplayable just now as I cant cure these issues with controls
