That looks like more than 2 meters long.Might want to get that measured.

Did some wiki searching, probably a western diamondback, and on the high end of recorded lengths too...

It's funny that people feel the need to propagate crap like this (and I don't mean you, Jim). The fact of the matter is that a 3 foot rattlesnake is probably a lot more dangerous than a 12 foot one could ever be (if they existed) as they can turn up almost anywhere and are just as capable of inflicting a life-threatening wound (only faster).

So remember kids, when coming up on a snake, you have to rattle it to make sure it's a rattle snake, and if it is, take the appropriate safety precautions.

Yeh I should of been more specific.

Timber Rattlesnake

They are rare even as far north as I am, those little ones are here, but also rare.

In my experience the,

Copperheads and Cotten mouth, are our biggest threats here.

I research these sites every spring, and other books, before I start spending time in the field chasing eatable creatures.

You can probably do the same for your area, where ever that might be.

And on a side note, they forgot to mention me. :laughing7:

Bad Aim. Are you saying the photograph is a fake? I thought it was a big mother.

Nope, the snake is real but it's not nearly as big as it seems, it's a perspective illusion since it's held much closer to the camera than it seems.

By all reports, yes. That same photo has been credited to have come from several states as well. The Particular species in question would be considered a monster at 6'
