Blairgowrie
Pooka, me and the wives want to have a night at the theatre when we visit London. Any recommendations on what we might take in? I see 39 Steps by John Buchan is still running after 2 years? It was a book I had to read at school and I enjoyed it.
delta7
the big hitters are LES MISERABLES and CHICAGO see here for whats on and simple reviews http://www.londontheatre.co.uk/ If you want something different then shakespeares globe theatre was reburbished a few years ago and does shows http://www.shakespeares-globe.org/ but check run times to make sure they are still on when you plan to visit
Blairgowrie
Thanks Dave. Helen has been to Les Mis and didn't think too highly of it. Chicago might be good though.
GreyKnight
I saw Chicago when I was living in London, and it really was a great experience. The band were outstanding!
JensenPark
So Jim from Ontario will go to London to see Chicago. Yes, it is all making sense to me now.

Akula
Hi Jim, Well - there is always a Andrew Lloyd Webber classic The Phantom of the Opera, still running at Her Majesty's Theatre. Have a peek at
Blairgowrie
Thanks Akula. My wife Helen and Pooka have seen Phantom 3 times each (I wonder if they saw it together hmmm...)
Akula
Hi Jim, Yes, Moa and I are most definitely thinking of going to London in July. If we get there - which we really hope we will, a few days with you would absolutely be included! The only thing that might get in the way is of the Catch 22 kind - as I am now a student, I don't have any income during the summer months, so I need to find some form of temporary job during early June to mid-August. That could be a hindrance in two ways; if I do not get a job, we may not have enough money to go. If I do get it, work might keep me at home. Blairgowrie
Lover Never Dies might indeed be an option. My wife said she and and friend walked out of Mousetrap when it was in Toronto. I am certainly leaning towards a good musical. Isn't this planning really exciting and fun?

Blairgowrie
I believe it opens in February Pook. If it is a hit (which is likely) we might have a problem getting tickets. Might have to act quickly.
