Dont have too many books on this but I can say these two are worth looking at. (Also at work and cant remember the authors, shout if you need to know)

Red Storm Rising, by Tom Clancy is a good one. A fictional but pretty accurate depiction of a conventional war between NATO and the Soviets.

The Most Dangerous Enemy by Bungay is very good aswell

"First Light" - Geoffrey Wellum (ISBN 978-0-14-100814-1) The autobiography of Geoffrey 'Boy' Wellum (Fighter pilot during BoB and then on to the defence of Malta)

"Fighter Boys - Saving Britain 1940" - Patrick Bishop (ISBN 0-00-653204-7) The story of BoB through the eyes of the pilots involved.

"Bomber Crew - Taking on the Reich" - John Sweetman (ISBN 0-349-11796-9)

"Dambusters - An Oral History" - Max Arthur (ISBN 978-1-905264-33-9) An old subject but a new viewpoint as the story is told by the members of 617 Squadron who took part in the raid, plus assorted commanders etc. Eve Gibson turns up in there as well.

"Tail-End Charlies - The Last Battles of the Bomber War 1944-45" - John Nichol & Tony Rennell (ISBN 0-670-91456-
