  1. The only thing I can think of, is missing or invalid chip set drivers. I got a quite similar board (P8P67 LE), and these are the ones I have installed: ************************************************************ * Product: Intel® Chipset Device Software * Release: Production Version * Version: 9.2.0.1015 * Target Products: Intel® 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family * 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor family * Date: October 04 2010 ************************************************************ I downloaded those a while ago from here: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67/HelpDesk_Download/ (this is a direct link to P8P67 board, not sure which sub-version (Pro, Q or other) you are using, but do check! Let's do some old fashion trouble shooting: Post your DxDiag report, the 64bit one. (Start, Run, DxDiag.exe, press the 'Run 64Bit DxDiag' , press save all information, then upload or paste the DxDiag.txt file here)
  2. Thanks for the compliments Andy! And welcome here! Now that server of ours was never meant to be used by anybody outside our squad, its password got kinda out there, apperently ... lol (Are you member of the 615 squadron by any chance? I know they are actively using the server.) As it stands now, there's no problem you using the server, it's nice to see people are having a good time, and as long as your activities do not interfere with our groups activities, all is good. For now anyways, as everything I state here is as a member ...(I am not the boss around here, so things might change...) Your request sounds like a good idea, I see no problems implementing it, so... keep an eye out for the new base. Have Fun!
  3. Thanks for posting that!
  4. USB Peripherals don't take much juice, not at all compared to like a Video card. Unless you are planning to hook up like 270 of those, PSU is never a problem... The only thing you need to be aware of is that when you are using a USB hub, you get one that has its own power supply... Do you remember what I posted earlier? Running Clod on an i5-16GB-NvidiaGTX580 - together with a secondary slower computer, powering all that, including three monitors.... total consumption 450W max.... this with a FFB stick, Bodnar board, Roccat Kave 5.1 Digital headset, PCTV ausb stick, samsung printer and whotnots.... No need to go overboard towards the 700W range... Developments still shows that they get better performance using less and less power...
  5. Finale, no really, where it concerns the cars... unless I do find a good model to do the Duel Truck 1965 Dodge Coronet 500, 1957 Mercury Turnpike, 1956 Ford F-100 Pickup Habit? No, unfortunately, it starts to look like a form of cardiction ...
  6. Ford Pinto, Dodge Monaco with Airstream Caravan, '68 Charger
  7. Constructed some simple stands, as we need them in the shop... They do look weird and crooked and not straight, but that's the camera me thinks... Wide angle ...
  8. Not sure about that PSU wattage usage ... few weeks ago I had a digital power meter connected to the power of my computer(s). Running CloD, its usage went up to about 450W, (I think I got a 650W PSU in the pc), in idle/browsing mode it was about 180 to 200W, depending on having a secondary monitor switched on or off. (Note: the meter was catching not just the PC's power, but also all other equipment (incl. a light bulb, a modern one). One would not expect a 750W to be using more power in the same situation... (I have not tuned my system to be power sav(v)y ... I think.) As for how long CRT's last vs. TFT/LCD I think it'll be a close call. Got a feeling that the flat screens last even longer than CRT's (currently, at work, I see very little of them fail, I think less than the CRT's in their days...) Also, please do realize that the monitor is the most important thing here, you will be looking at it a lot. It is your main interface with the virtual environment! Widescreen is what you want, much better in flight, you see more of the air! Up to a certain point, bigger is better, but resolution is also important, they are closely related. Just this week, I heard someone being happy with a 40" TV Screen, at 1920x1080. Dots were a lot bigger, and indeed easier to spot. Yeah, why would that be?
  9. True dat ! It is a recent development me thinks, so a new mobo ...
  10. You do not need to use them in pairs any longer... can do with a single 8Gb. If needed, add another one later...
  11. Yes, go for the K. Even if you are not into overclocking now, later on, when you need it most, you'll be glad you did.
  12. The power supply is not delivering/drawing full load all of the time, it does that only when it's needed... Oh, and me thinks you are overthinkin' this way too much. All that time spent in research, why not go fishing, and sell the fish you caught! Much more efficient!
  13. What Jabo said ... it's all about eyecandy, not about calcandy!
  14. So we do get to blow it up then? Oh yeah, sure, why not?
  15. " I need to be saving money where I can" and yet throw $100 into some performance you'll never use / notice? Are you gonna be running benchmarks each and every day? It must be me... Oh, wait, its $135 even. Yeah, very economical... Better put that money into an upgrade of the video card, or more memory... just my opinion...
  16. But, Windows 10 is not here! You are on failing hardware now, and want to wait 'till 10 is released? Oh well...
  17. Go for Windows 7 now. 64bit. It runs the game and everything just fine, and although 10 is on its way, do not wait for it. And do not be trouble or worried about it. It's not there yet! And, you can always upgrade to 10 later, if you get 7 now 8 Sure, you could also skip 7, and go for 8.1
  18. Condolences OD! And thanks for the heads-up/info on the 970/980ACX!
  19. Had I had a dozen of geezers with light brown shirts, the Black/White Monaco would be racing down the bike / walk way ... lol Hm, I could use the German Recon troops ...
  20. Sorry, No! I am done. Three cars are still on their way, and that's it! No more! Stop!
  21. Oh, and somehow, along the way, this little 1:116 scale thinghie ended up in my shopping cart All metal, except for the prop... (Not for the bridge, just for me!)
