  1. A satisfying evenings work...
  2. I assume everyone who plays on the server will need to put this update in as it will go on the sever and versions must match?

Can we merge the two threads together. would be easier to follow. text updates then pictures?
  4. What identified it for you - did you run one of the monitoring programmes fruitbat mentioned or did it just go completely?

    Pictures or it never happened...
  6. I put up this video because a)it is well made and b) I can find the links to the mods for the scenery easily
  7. Salute, We are looking at JUNE 25th. Please post here IF YOU CAN NOT make this date
  8. The landing zone around the bridge needs to have a few trees removed first. Nearer the time I could contact the guy that did the North Africa map changes and see if you would be willing to clear a few trees out for us to make a landing zone?
  9. @DD_Fenrir - Spoke to Fruitbat last night and he helped me to get it sorted, thanks.
  10. What do I have to do to install them please? I have downloaded them. Do they need a Spitfire folder in Liveries?
  11. @Zukker Thanks for chipping in. It would be great to have your expertise on board with this. I am learning the editor as I go and would like to lean quite a bit on the likes of @DD_Fenrir and @fruitbat so having you available as well will be a bonus. I am planning my mission on the Caucuses map as everyone has it. I do not have the Syria map. Persian Gulf might be an option.
  12. I have downloaded the excel utility. I have started work on the home base adding plane and helicopter slots. However when I try and open the .miz file it seems all encoded and not plain english like the video. I have tried using notepad and Notepad++, both are the same. Any thoughts? EDIT: just re-watched the video. You do not edit the mission but I save the statics as a template and then edit that to get the details....then plug then into the excel tool to make the script that will remove it.
  13. Seems to delete a static item it has to be done with a triggered script - The below video seems to explain how to do it and also provide a tool to assist...
  14. I have found a pilot in the static objects (see below) but can not remoe him when the jeep arrives (to simulate him getting into the jeep) Any one know if this is possible now? (had a google and it did not seem to be?)
  15. I have made a start on a)learning the editor and b)testing my logic for the rescue. I have used a Hummer just for ease and a very small trigger zone for the Hey I'm here (fire a green flare) and successful rescue.
  16. Salute, I have been thinking about us doing a mission that could use all our assets in a combined "co-op" type event. I would be happy to make a start but would need the assistance from "those that know" to help flesh it out until my skills improve. My idea... Scenario An allied plane has been shot down but the pilot was able to eject. His emergency beacon has transmitted the co-ordinates for his rescue. Enemy forces have also seen him eject and know that it is a high ranking US pilot that was hit and also want to capture him. They dispatch search helicopters, armoured road vehicles to search as well as multiple fighters in the air to enforce the search zone. US high command has ordered planes from the nearby Navel fleet to send F14's, from the nearest air station F16's plus a Bronco and Apache to help with the search. A Huey will also go in to pick up the pilot and bring him home. Lots of back slapping and beers in the bar afterwards Mission Editor Bit From my little knowledge and readings.. I have thought about the following. Pilot position - random generated from one of x locations so could be played multiple times? Pilot represented by single infantry When search assets enter trigger zone smoke set off to identify location? "I am here come get me"? Huey lands in smaller trigger zone (very close to pilot location) Pilot is deleted (he has boarded the rescue craft) If enemy vehicles get to pilot (helicopter land? not sure if possible) pilot is captured and mission has failed. Enemy planes patrol area and need to be taken out by F14 and F16's Enemy ground forces need to be stopped by Bronco and Apache Rescue helicopter(s) needs to escorted back to base from pursuing enemy and land to safely recover pilot for mission success. What do you think, doable as a project? @DD_Fenrir, @fruitbat, @Zukker - should I stick to things I know about and leave DCS to the grown ups?
  17. He is not Scottish Swep, he is "scouse" from Liverpool
  18. @Crash - No worries, we will keep your seat warm. No set number as yet. Depends how quick we run the enemy into the ground or reach a stale-mate. But I think we should be good for at least 6 sessions like the others.
  19. Only if you are going to 20 and he takes his shoes and socks off

  21. Dear Friends, This year we have already released two previously announced Collector Planes. Today we would like to share plans for the future aircraft. In addition to the already released Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIVe Bubbletop and Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 A/S, the plan for this year includes: 1. Li-2 - Soviet military transport aircraft. Unlike the original C-47 (Li-2 was based on it under license), it was also used as a bomber and had an optional turret and even forward firing weaponry. The planned release date is Summer 2023. 2. American towable glider (!) WACO CG-4A, which has been widely used during the Normandy landings. The planned release date is Fall 2023. 3. Soviet fighter La-5 series 38 with a teardrop-shaped canopy. Its lighter design had a positive effect on the characteristics of the aircraft compared to earlier models. The planned release date is Fall 2023. 4. Romanian fighter IAR-80/81 in two basic variants («long» and «short»). Both variants and 7 modifications of the aircraft are described in detail in DD #334. The planned release date is the end of 2023. Please note: since this Collector Plane will be effectively two significantly different aircraft (different fuselages, different flight characteristics, different paint scheme kits, there are differences in their cockpits as well) in one package, its pre-order price will increase on May 17th to the level of larger Collector Planes like C-47. Of course, the pre-orders placed before this date won’t be affected by this change, so if you’re interested in getting these aircraft eventually, please consider doing so before May 17th. 5. The development of three new fighters scheduled for 2024 has begun: German interceptor Focke-Wulf Ta 152 Soviet legendary biplane Polikarpov I-153 «Chaika» British fighter Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc armed with 7.69 mm machine guns and a different tail. 6. By the end of 2023, it is planned to complete the development of the Flying Circus Vol.III which will include eight aircraft: F.E.2b R.E.8 Hanriot HD.1 Nieuport 11.C1 Nieuport 17.C1 Nieuport 17.C1 GBR Albatros D.II Halberstadt D.II It is also planned to complete the Western Front 1918 map and populate the entire front line with objects. This updated version of the map will be available in different seasons. 7. The story of Flying Circus continues: plans for 2024 include additional improvements to the map and the development of seven new collectible aircraft: Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter B Sopwith Pup Airco DH.2 Albatros D.III Roland C.IIa Fokker E.III 8. We’re also helping a team of enthusiasts who are working on a new map of one of the theaters of operations on the Eastern Front. A significant progress has been made - we hope that the map will become part of the Great Battles game world soon. The details about the map and the development team will be revealed later. Since the Battle of Normandy release, 9 World War II aircraft, 15 World War I aircraft and two maps have already been produced or are in development. And that's not all! Your support motivates us to improve and extend the Great Battles series. A new historical campaign is in the final stage of development - it is dedicated to the operation of Yak-7 fighter armed units. This year we plan to release another campaign and there are ideas for creating three new campaigns already. In addition, this year we’re updating a number of previously created campaigns to integrate new technologies and content developed recently (you can see the Tank Crew campaigns being updated in the screenshots below). The 1C Game Studios team wishes you good luck and aerial victories in the virtual sky! Congratulations on the upcoming Victory Day! Discuss on forum
  22. That was probably me in the middle and Fen and Blubear taking care of me. Was good seeing the new Normandy map in all its glory. A bit disappointed South Croydon is not highlighted in some way, "dont they know who I am..."

I have just booked for the Saturday. I am staying with my better half in a studio flat in Stow-on-the-wold from Thursday and are making a mini break out of it, taking in a farm attraction on the Friday, the show Saturday and travelling home Sunday.
