https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/2020-03-18/ The mighty I-16 for $19.99!! And others. Yet the F-14 is not that cheap. Though when reading the news, it all appears kinda complex to me - then again, it's DCS, so ... yeah ...

New Game Launcher, New Set Up

DM will always be a problem/issue/source for debate... All pilots wants to have guns that will kill quickly, be it smoke/fire/departing parts/PKs ... yet the same pilots will also want to be able to survive a hail of bullets fired at and hitting their aircraft - to continue the fight, or to limp home... yeah - conflict - oh well, there's a war on, so a conflict fits in nicely As for DM modeling: The challenge for the developers is to somehow create a situation that results into an in game balance. It can never be based on pure technical data - back then there was no air crash investigation, no black boxes - most of the pilots shot down either never knew what killed them, or never took the time to figure out what caliber of gun hit where and did what kind of damage. When hit good and still alive, a pilot would try and assess whether he could get home, get over to friendly territory, or simply bail out as fast as possible. This is where it shows it's just a game - main driving force here should be play ability - not realism, as that would mean game-over way too quickly and often, ie. no fun at all! Sure, we call out there's a war on, but in the end it's just a game on! -
lol ... "ok... that guy there probably got smoked ... "

Found out my rudder pedals were "sticky" - maybe not the correct word, it was lagging, but like I move my pedals left-right, the in game pedals move, then stop for a short period, then flip forward to the proper position. Makes it rather difficult to try and move to the catapult hookup... Even in the controls assignments, the lagging was visible, though when run from the base game, ie. not in mission or in cockpit. It did work correctly in the Beta, and I thought I saw some 'improvements' when changing the view - zoom in/out, mirrors on/off. Yet very difficult to judge! So, after a lot of testing and messing about, I decided to check the graphics settings, and brought the Beta ones over to the Stable ones. And that fixed it. Who knows it may be of help to someone sometime, or even to me First screen is my Beta install, secondary of the Stable, before changing them. Beta: Stable: Could it have been the VSync? Edit: It was also occuring on the stick, as in Roll and Pitch, but not thát obvious/clear/heavy.

Fingers crossed! Oh wait, no, that will probably not work at all now would it?

Did some light-Clod-ding just now, it's still fun :) In my first sortie I attacked and sank a Corvette. Hm, no, I had sunk a Minensuchboot in my 110. Oops. So, next, I tried again, and darn, dropped too late, bomb bouncing off of the ship... Decided to go for freighters as the Corvette suddenly disappeared. Or, well, flying German, I claimed it. Skip bombing attack on Freighter: Yeah, they skipped over the ship. So, next attempt: Dive Dive Dive! Sure, bomb bouncing off again, and even higher up than my 110. Oh well. Attacking Wellingtons on the way home... hits on one, while getting really close. Too close... lost a wing, Eject, Eject, Eject! Good fun... it still is!

And, as it appears, the download speeds are rather low at the moment, about 1 Mb/s - and at 2GB, well ... (Our DCS server is currently being upgraded... so... it will be offline for a while )

Oh dear, it's official, I am in a Jet, flying nicely - for a bit - along with some other Jets... I am a Sissie now!

Hope you did order a different brand and model!

They all go together. It's all about the aircraft, online you can fly on any of the theaters/maps. Which version you own determines what a/c you can fly. Basically in the end it is one version ... So, try and get them all please, so we won't run into issues running Coops: I do not want to hear "I do not have any of these planes!"

== There still is only one ...

"Information" ? What am I supposed to learn from this then? Canada is way bigger than UK? How relevant is that? To me, it's not. What is relevant is that 75 years ago my shitty small country and home town were big enough for them brave big country Canadian heroes to find it, and to kick the bad guys out and liberate the shite out of us! Thank you for that!!😎

Just by looking around at flightrader24.com, I came across this stuff: The two selected aircraft are of the type 'Hawker Hunter' ... and by the looks of their flight paths they appear to have had a lot of fun out there!
