  1. What Arthur said, I'm wondering whether I should ask Kevin to do some maintenance on that 580... No, sorry, my bad, it's Forest=2 (Edited the original post)
  2. Guessing the OpenGL part of conf.ini for IL2? Or would you be needing the Nvidia control panel settings? Or both? [Render_OpenGL] TexQual=3 TexMipFilter=3 TexCompress=2 TexFlags.UseDither=1 TexFlags.UseAlpha=0 TexFlags.UseIndex=0 TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0 TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0 TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=0 TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1 TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0 TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1 TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1 TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1 TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1 TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0 TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0 TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1 TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1 TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1 TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1 TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1 TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1 TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1 HardwareShaders=1 Shadows=2 Specular=2 SpecularLight=2 DiffuseLight=2 DynamicalLights=1 MeshDetail=2 VisibilityDistance=3 Sky=2 Forest=2 LandShading=3 LandDetails=2 LandGeom=3 ;LandGeom=2 TexLarge=1 TexLandQual=3 TexLandLarge=1 VideoSetupId=17 Water=4 Effects=1 ForceShaders1x=0 PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.15 PolygonOffsetUnits=-3.0 All this for 580GTX. 3. Thanks B, yes those 'hanger' missions set are quite good! I do host some of 'm quite regularly (in my set they are in folders named 'Kuban IL2-Hanger', 'Citadelle IL2-Hanger;'... I assume those are the ones you are referring to?)
  4. A feller named 'Drayu - The Dude' has got a page dedicated to IL-2, on the War is Hell gaming website. http://www.warishellgaming.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25841 There's a link in bolded red, 'CLICK HERE', it takes you to http://www.drayu.com/il2/, and there is a file named coop.rar. 65Mb of IL2 missions. Many of them are already in our 'base' of coops that should be somewhere in the vault, there's also some extra ones. I'm still working on a selection of 'good fun enough' coops... that's kinda difficult, as a big part of the fun is not knowing what is next, what will happen next, but one can only really judge a mission as being good fun, after one has run it. After that, one knows what will happen, and that takes out a big part of the fun. One way to reduce that risk is in having numbers, large numbers of missions. Currently, I got 2103 Coop missions for IL-2, though thre might be some doubles in there. Might also need to cleanup in a different way, as when I check for flying distance, some 680 missions have waypoints taking red and blue for a flight of over 120km's.... 18 missions with only one human player, hm, maybe those should not to be called coops ... lol Yeah, I'm rambling now...
  5. They must be using a new definition: MilliBit...
  6. That is some nice progress there !!
  7. Caucasus is a great map for this ... good choice!
  8. Map suggestion: Square Island
  9. Could we agree/decide on a specific Map+Grid to use? So anybody can create a mission and keep it all in one and the same atmosphere? There was a dogfight map that we used in warm up of Kevin's Bob campaign... that appears to be useful... Dino, as for the glider idea, better thank Sid, as I used his Pegasus mission for 'inspiration' ;-)
  10. Yes, good idea... (Add a dead-stick-action mission, maybe in a glider, flying a pattern 'round balloons, land on a specific spot?)
  11. Looking good Mick! Nice work!
  12. Excellent job you're doing there Rattler...
  13. Very cool, them Radiators ...
  14. How did you reduce RPM's? By throttlin' back, or by reducing proppitch? Throttlin' back would decrease MP, lower proppitch would not change MP? I really do not know. I do not think CEM is modeled incorrectly, its more like it's simplified, and incomplete. And I do not know why I am posting here. Basically, I have nothing sensible to add. Probably I'm just bored....
  15. "Changes to darkness of night" 4.11m: 4.10.1m: Me likes that.
  16. That looks so silly ...where's the fun in that?
  17. If the shitty part was in his maths, he probably would've ended up nukin' Kiev, and bailin' out over Moscow?
  18. We've already fully enjoyed one of 'm yesterday! (Well, my personal experience was not that enjoyable... PK by AAA in the very first pass over the target... oh well... 6 minutes of flight in a 110 is still pretty enjoyable)
  19. Hey guys, we need to take some decisions regarding 'post Duxford' trip... as in some people need to book their return trip home... and need to know when to do that... Are we (who are we?) still planning to have a multiday trip to some interesting sites in the UK Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday ... yeah, untill when? Do we need a separate post Duxford trip thread?
  20. A favorite: New to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKzOJfILbgo&feature=related
  21. Happy New Year!
  22. Anyone interested in '40-'45 Radio equipment, look here: The Signals Collections It's not a museum, it's not a shop... It's quite close to my home. I should visit it some time... One thing they have that is of special interest: they have been re-constructing part of a Lancaster's cockpit: Click ... Picture of it:
  23. Zooly, See here: 'Locking External Views After Takeoff' , it's a reply I posted. Some relevant words in there: "1. Will just be trying it out. If there's just one of us in mission that states 'I hate this' or even 'I do not like this' or 'Hey, WTF?' it's back to what is was... but let's just give it a try!" So... it's all cool! My mistake of not announcing this test properly, apologies!
