Decided to try and use the electronics of the Logitech G940, and put them in a Guillemot FFB base... (Because I hate the grinding of the gears in G940, the Guillemot use rubber belts, but the G940 is the only stick I have that works on Windows 7... where CLOD runs best...) It kinda works... but as I can only use it on the weird and buggy FFB of Cliffs of Dover... I'm not sure whether it really works... As for Clod.... had a small mishap in a Stuka, involving two radar masts... The thing was still flyable, no ailerons, but could use rudder to turn.... (Put it on Autopilot and timex16, it flew back to France, but AI wasn't able to land it though...) Yeah, I'm goin' off topic here....

The price of a room looks quite reasonable now, and/or around Jul 6th next year.... Just wondering whether that'll change when looking at booking say 'round July 13th 2012 (Even the Red Lion's rooms are priced nicely at the moment....)

Try and boot using a Ubuntu CD, see if you can access the HD that way, and for how long it remains be accessible... if it errors out in Ubuntu as well, then you can be sure it's a hardware issue...

Friar, can you resize them a bit, they are awefully large this way....

Sliders have been added, as well as external (Gameport) connector to pedals (with brake). Total of 8 sliders. All the wiring done. (Not to messy, could even call it neat, compared to my old box) There happens to be a ruler kinda thing in the bottom of above picture, it shows millimeters, and so gives you an idea of the size this box is... Rear view, connector to bodnar board, and Gameport for pedals. And now about to start the most daunting task: Go through all axis and button assignments for IL2, not only for all those new buttons, but also for my Guillemot, as it has now become the 1st game controller, it used to be third...

MT, yes, there's a Bodnar board inside, or, there will be one. Your box looks a bit better though, as if it we're truly designed... oh waitaminute, mine's designed as well, I did make drawings!

My new controller box is coming along nicely... Basically, it's a cheapo lunchbox with 36 buttons.... Wiring inside: Now there is a logic behind the coloring and order of the buttons. Haven't found out what logic yet, but it múst be there, I put them in that order...

Hi John, at present we are flying 4.101 stock until the final version comes out for UP 3. You can install UP3 over 4.101 and use the switcher for co-ops. UP3 is on RC2 at the moment and it should be able to update to the final when thats released There are a LOT of good things in UP3 like 6 dof, loads of new maps and flyables. See the MODS part of the forum for a video of the new Tunisia map. It looks stunning Fine advice, and I'd like to add: Save a backup copy of a very clean (as in no mods at all) install of version 4.10.1m, as that is currently the base from where everything happens...

Tip for you Nick, just make sure you pre-book/reserve that lens for FL next year!!!

I usually try and edit out my voice as much as possible, as it's way too loud (very close to the microphone), but now that I had put a piece of tape over the microphone to stop the wind from creating noise, the volume was much lower, ánd I thought my words were kinda fitting the images.... , turns out they were!

You cannot search for location by those coordinates me thinks.... Go to Tools, Options, 3D View, and make sure 'Show Lat/Long' is set to 'Degrees, Minutes, Seconds'. These lat/long values are shown on the bottom of the screen, centered. Go search for 'Holland Centre', then move some 7.5km's to the North East.... if you go in a straight line NE from Holland Centre, over 'Mud Lake', it will be there at 7.5km's... I think....

Monday: View out of the Hotel room in Cambridge, view to the river Cam (Yes, the river is named 'Cam', and so you could say my Fuji FinePix f31d acted as a rivercam for a moment there... ) Now this is just silly, my hut cabin at the 'Stena Hollandica' Look closely, there's four beds, and one of 'm is a double bed! Choices... choices... choices...

The Skyraiders pilot is definately to blame. He did not watch his leader, did not anticipate his moves... Something belonging to the category "hearsay:" Sunday evening, outside our hotel I spoke to two German guys who said the Skyraider pilot had had two instances of near misses that day, one when too close for comfort close in a formation, and one where he started his landing approach while two spits were on the field, having just landed. The SP had to go FT and pull up sharply to avoid crashing into 'm. Repeat: category "hearsay:" Me thinks he went to a party Saturday evening... as he was flying perfectly fine and normal the first day...
