This is the mod I need. http://www.fox43.com/news/nationworld/sns-viral-video-aircraft-loses-wing,0,1564214.htmlstory

I wasn't talking about you or me. I meant "those who shall remain nameless".

Sigh ... we need a round table. So many points I want to revisit. As for WMD, they implied nukes. We already knew they were gassing the Kurds. Anyway, the point I want to make is PREPARE for what is about to happen. Assume your dollars won't buy much in the future. Forget instant microwave meals, forget phoning for pizza. Learn to turn dried beans and flour into food and buy a little extra every time you shop to store. Learn to cook like your grandma. It's easy, cheap and tasty. Don't assume it's sometime way off in the future. Israel could lay an airstrike on Iran this week and things could go bad so fast MY head would spin.

Commercial rubbing alcohol is 70%. I have distilled it to 100% in the past.

NOW I'm pissed. JP said I play CFS 3. I want him banned IMMEDIATELY. Religion and politics are death sentences. They rely on belief and faith. Not something you can easily change by debate. They require a traumatic emotional event to change your mind. Attack someone's beliefs and it gets ugly very quickly. We're talking "the state of the world". We can see what's happening. Events will prove someone right or wrong. Bush says he has WMD, they invade, quietly find nothing = lying sack of ****. No debate. Obama says one thing to the public, signs a bill to the opposite= lying sack of ****. No debate. @ JP - speculative real estate may not be such a good thing now but you're in the oil patch .... location, location- entry level housing or rental is probably good - your call. Commercial real estate probably ain't a good idea anywhere. Anything in paper can fall so fast it will be gone before you get a chance to get out. I think the market has topped out anyway. There is one investment company that said in Aug of 2008 to get out of stocks into cash before the crash. They said the same thing this year April 30th. Kitco and Border Gold are reputable bullion dealers but get it delivered and hide it. Keep guys like BA and Trout (metal detectors) away. Shoot first(long guns are OK for this - large caliber recommended). Something to digest- http://dailyreckoning.com/china-enters-the-gold-market/ I think "for profit" should not be in charge of services for the people unless you can trust the intentions of those in charge. Trash collection, medical care, policing, electricity supply and nuclear energy etc. need public oversight otherwise you get rising cost and lower service. Since we have had for profit garbage collection my garage stinks and the varmits are on the rise everywhere. I don't know enough about government to even tell you what a Communist is. Or a Republican, or a Liberal, or a New Democrat, or a Partie Quebecois. I think I know what's right and what's wrong.

I saw you were slacking there JP so I jumped in to cover your 6. I think things are getting close to crunch time. I took a couple of weeks pay out of the bank in case of a "holiday". We are not immune to their virus.

Parallel wiring does make it a hell of a lot easier to track down just what has ceased to function for folks without diagnostic skills.

You know more about it than I do Mayhem. So what happened here, did it fry an LED? I think when I did mine I saw the LED calculator for my 1.6v LED's used a resistor for each one and were wired in parallel. When I changed the setting for 1.5v it used a single resistor and the 3 LED's in series. I used that setup assuming I would have less chance of burning up an LED. Was that correct? The ones I used are quite bright- 100mW/sr Rated 1.6v @ 50mA Hell, if you're having that much trouble I could go see if the store still has em and mail em to you. I think they were around $1 each. I couldn't get a single resistor, they came in cards of 10 so I have a few left over.

Fair enough. I don't care what we call them as long as we call them DONE and GONE.

I did watch the health care debate going on in the States. Rather amusing. My daughter and I would often look at each other with wide eyes and mouths open at the fear mongering and just plain lies being told. In our "socialist" country we have universal health care. It may not be perfect but there is a great deal of comfort knowing that when you are sick or hurt you just go to a clinic or the hospital and you will be treated - and treated pretty darned well I might add. No forms, no credit cards, no mention of payment, only "how are you feeling?". I never even gave it any thought till I saw people being sent away from hospitals in the Sates because they had no "plan". I'm now grateful. The only bad part is that Ontario has 7 million people registered for health care ..... only 5 million live here. I dunno the real numbers but it's something like that. If socialism means everyone has a responsibility to look after everyone else in some small way .... I'm in. For the record - I love your country and it's people too BA. As for the crooks who run it - not so much and I suspect the next Prez will be just as much a lying sack of **** as this one, or the last one, or the one before that. And I'm pretty sure it's an International Banker Cartel, not the commies. Again, I invite you to view The Obama Deception on youtube.

Oh crap, So ... you're just gonna take it then......

Don't tell them about how much water we have ... mass migrations and all that. Purely selfish note here: Now that you're done .... can I have the Kubota?

As an outsider I don't see the media spin that Americans get in the news. I see the results. I don't see that it matters who is "in power". They all support the interests of corporations and the powerful(rich) to the detriment of the public. I guess that's who pays the bills of their campaign. Again, as an outsider, I see American politics as corrupt as any third world dictatorship all driven by money. NAFTA, TARP etc only benefit the corporations and big business while stealing from the people. You do know that the TARP bailouts could have paid off every mortgage in the United States right? They took they money, sold out America and invested it overseas. I've been listening to Alex Jones (the conspiracy nut) for a few years off and on. The more the predictions comes to pass the less you can write him off as a nut. Quite a few documentaries over the years, all free to view on youtube. He doesn't want your money, he wants to save America. You Yanks would call him a patriot though the press paints a good picture of a nutbar. The latest is the Obama Deception. Watch it on youtube. I challenge you to watch it with an open mind. Over the last decade I've come to the conclusion that the corporations simply have too much power and influence NOT to be corrupt and to corrupt all they influence - government. The only way we'll take the power away is to hit em where it hurts. Money. I don't buy from Home Depot, Walmart, Costco, Best Buy or Pizza Hut for that matter. I buy from the locally owned Home Hardware, Lugano's pizza(mom and pop place) Turkstra Lumber (local guy, been here for 40+ years) Alexanians carpet and flooring(since 1923) Goeman's Appliances (1948), Keiths Car Stereo(1970) . The bigger they are the farther I stay away. We all must accept some social responsibility to make change. As a consumer you have the power. THIS is the only way we'll clean up the damn mess we're in. We CAN manufacture in North America though there may not be as much profit in it ..sorry, no million $ bonuses though ... tough s**t, at least I still have a job and will continue to support the local economy. OK, sorry folks, I'm off my soap box now.

Thats damn cool Crash. As for the stall/spin. Your old stick may never have gone to full deflection- the only reason I can think of for your current difficulty. You can hear the wind sound change before a stall(when the contrails start coming off the wingtips), the stick gets sloppy and more deflection doesn't really do much. The biggest thing is a hard stab on the rudder just as a wingtip drops - almost always brings it right back and tells you - easy now fella' you're close to losing it. Only use rudder to bring up a low wing when you're slow, using aileron further disturbs the already turbulent airflow over the wing and will induce a spin.
-
Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one who calculates the deflection of the car ahead of me on the on-ramp.

Funny you should ask. I stumbled on this a few weeks ago and saved it. I was having trouble staying on target and moved my settings closer to Olegs. Not quite that fine but closer. Oleg Maddox: Roll: 1 3 6 12 21 32 44 61 81 100 Pitch: 1 4 8 15 24 33 44 60 77 100 Yaw: 0 10 19 32 43 54 63 74 86 100 crazyivan1970: Roll: 27 38 52 63 69 75 83 88 93 100 Pitch: 28 44 55 62 70 79 88 93 96 100 Yaw: 29 40 48 57 66 76 86 93 95 100 plus 7 deadband. The Author: Roll: 13 21 28 39 53 65 77 88 96 100 Pitch: 22 28 37 45 54 65 77 88 97 100 Yaw: 35 41 48 56 67 76 82 89 95 100 As a starting point, the author suggests the following: Roll: 1 4 9 16 25 36 49 64 81 100 Pitch: 1 4 9 16 25 36 49 64 81 100 Yaw: Leave it at default for the time being.

Heavy machinery is so much fun.

I assume he used the calculator and wiring schematic on the Freetrack website. I recall him saying they were wired in series as your drawing above.

Good tips on the resistor Gec. Didn't know that. Last night he said one LED has stopped working yet the others still work. Either it's fried and shorted internally or (more likely) 2 wires have touched and shorted, bypassing that LED. It just takes one strand of wire sticking out once the solder has hardened to poke through the shrink tubing on the wire beside it, especially when you're pulling them through a pen tube.

1: Using a USB cord as your power source only provides 5v of power. If you need 3 LEDs running at 3v per, how do you power them? Is it acceptable or even possible to use lower voltage LEDs? In this case you would wire the LED's in parallel and use a resistor over each LED to drop the voltage to 3v. 2: relating to question 1, will i need a resistor if my 5v of power are not exact to what the LEDs use? ie: 5v USB powering 3 1v LEDs. (2 volts remaining) will that over power and blow the LEDs? Mine just shut off when I applied an overvoltage but yeah you have to get the voltage right or you'll have troubles. The Freetrack website has a calculator. You plug in the values of your LED's and get a wiring diagram with resistor specs and even a resistor picture chart. 3: When wiring, Ive red the Red wire in USB is the hot (positive) and the Black is the neutral (ground) and the other shouldn't be needed. Is this accurate? Pin Name Cable color Description 1 VCC Red +5 VDC 2 D- White Data - 3 D+ Green Data + 4 GND Black Ground Yup, red is pos, black neg and you don't need the other two. Probably best to isolate them, dunno what would happen if they shorted out. And USE SHRINK TUBING, not electrical tape. These wires are too small for tape. LED's are polarity sensitive, they have a pos and a neg. Wire them properly. Btw: I read the default IR LED (OSRAM SFH485P) take 3volts to power. Im assuming that is the standard. Right? I used a different one on the very bottom of this page http://www.mainelectronics.com/KLInfraredEmitLED.htm The important thing is the viewing angle, determines how far you can turn your head before your camera looses the signal. 160 deg should be enough. The OSRAM ones above will work fine but you have to wire in parallel as per the Freetrack website. Parallel wiring has advantages - if one LED burns out you'll know right away because one won't work. Easy for anyone to troubleshoot. If you use 1.5v LED's and wire in series with a resistor if any one component fails the whole thing will just stop without a clue if it's the power supply or an LED or the resistor or even the USB hub inside the computer. Or (like Trout) a wire that overstressed and just broke. A lot more steps to track down the problem. Had a chat with Pappy last night on TS and gave him part numbers and some tips to get started. Shopping list: LED's resistor(s) thin solder shrink tubing Camera?

I recall some mobo's had bad capacitors. Look at the board carefully for swollen or deformed ones.

I flew by that church more than once and I'm sure it was lookin' at me kinda funny too.

Bah Didn't happen. I would have had a broken heart when I found out the Spit and 109 weren't based there. Cottage is near Mount Forest. Where highway #89 crosses #6.
