  1. Not a bad concept for a VTOL. Seems the least mechanically complex. I think it has a chance. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/01/20/nasas-puffin-crazy-personal-aircraft/
  2. My IL2 stuff defaulted into Programsx86 and I left it there. 64 bit stuff defaulted into Program files. Logitech, TS3, Saitek, all have folders there.
  3. LOL sorry BG. Actually I was hoping to get a vid of the super vilian commercials. The line where they say "I rule the universe with an iron fist, my hordes of evil minions do my bidding"
  4. Vigilant you must be, patience you must have Padwan ........
  5. My daughter has a laptop and I've been trying for weeks the same thing- no joy. I suspect it's why I can't host IL2 anymore as well. Maybe you can put the 2 machines side by side and plug the old SATA cable into the new mobo? The old machine will power it but it will be a second HD in the new machine?
  6. Win 7 has a program you install on your old machine that gathers settings and such. Damned if I can remember what it's called. I put both HD's in the same machine and copied from one HD to the other. Damn near effortless. Windows easy transfer maybe. Have all the programs installed first. IL2, TS, browser etc. I hadn't install Firefox on the new machine when I ran it so it didn't get any of my settings for that so I just ran the thing again. http://www.google.ca/search?q=Windows+easy+transfer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
  7. Space channel's "super villain" commercials. 5 to 10 year old kids in ill fitting costumes striking what they think are imposing poses while an ominous voice provides the backdrop. No video but fun. Older super hero one. space channel super hero's commercial Their Start Wars Spacemas commercials space channel star wars christmas 2009
  8. I try to get a view so I can see the ball all the time in flight and try to keep it centered. You'll quickly catch on when you need rudder. The problem is there's no feedback so the pedal doesn't have the return force it should. You have to remember to let off the pedal when you don't need it.
  9. Much experimentation over the years and this is what I take: Cold - FX Naka brand Vital Greens - horrible taste but it works, fairly hard to find. Look online Sambuguard- elderberry extract Your body depletes vitamin A when you're sick, take extra but be careful with it. Natural source vitamin C like Ester-C won't hurt your stomach - ascorbic acid (artificial stuff) does and doesn't really work. Most folks north of Atlanta are deficient in vitamin D Easy on the yogurt unless you're on antibiotics.
  10. After the first 30 sec it's pretty obvious the guy is a pro. A lucky guy might get away with one wing scrape without loosing it but by the third time ........... Another master. Bob Hoover and maybe some good advice for our daredevil pilot. http://www.livevideo.com/media/commentmedia.aspx?cid=9BC3F865EB534C7D9F6FF500498D15F2
  11. Hey Trooper. I heard some of your boys are gearing up to head for Haiti. Good luck with that.
  12. I tried the reflective balls at first. They work but are sensitive to changing light conditions in your environment. In a room where the sun shines I was always adjusting the sensitivity and the dreaded stutter/freeze would happen. LED's make it always reliable. A dark basement may not be a problem. You can find foam balls that are a lot lighter than the wooden ones at a craft store and reflective tape can be had at any auto parts store.
  13. No flu shots here either but I'm old enough that I may have been exposed when a child. I would have gotten the nasal spray if it was convenient. I have issues not so much with the vaccine but with the adjuvant used and that once anything is injected into your bloodstream it's there forever without having to pass the natural barriers of your body. Funny you should say that TOAD. I never get sinus stuff but I had one hell of a bout over Christmas. Didn't even know what was going on till it was full blown.
  14. Welcome Doc. I bought my first serious headset a while ago, pretty happy with them. Turtle Beach HPA2. http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efhpa2/home.aspx Easy to attach my home built headtracking setup to.
  15. I find it more reliable to use the windows key to minimize the game. Alt Tab would crash the game the odd time.
  16. Since you've flown here before we won't be able to catch you with the "20 seconds" initiation. I feel cheated. Anybody still have the whoopee cushion?
  17. It's been very cold here but no snow to speak of. The frost is deep in the ground now and the roads are getting that washboard texture, you hear of a water main break almost daily.
  18. mmmmm. It's looking pretty bad folks. if you want to know how long you'll have.... http://theoatmeal.com/quiz/zombie_bite 1 hr and 12 min is all I'll have
  19. I'm sorry. I had no intent to begin a discussion on the causes of global warming. The cause really doesn't matter. It is a fact and we'll have to deal with it. I was however trying to point out what it might mean to some people. Europe might freeze their butts off as in the "little Ice Age". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Ice_Age
  20. Mine is set up the way it says and Win firewall has IL2 allowed and still nothing.
  21. Well, one of the first side effects of no polar ice cap would be that the Gulf Stream would weaken or be disrupted entirely as it's supposedly driven by melting fresh water, denser than salt water. Less ice- less current. Britain would have a climate more in line with it's latitude, could probably be compared to the west coast of Canada.
  22. Funny that Ireland is still .. emerald. Has the Gulf Stream shifted? Maybe the lack of sunspots all year (usually followed by colder seasons) is to blame.
  23. In the seond pic Virtual Servers Settings section does anyone know what the stuff in the red circle means or what it should be set to? I can't remember why I did that but it wasn't pulled out of a hat or anything.
  24. In Win 7 it appears to be in the control panel. I have a D-Link router and seem to have the correct ports forwarded but still no luck .....
