The way round that is to run msconfig.exe in ordinary Safe mode and disable all non-MS processes and services that run at startup, then run ComboFix.

Sounds like you've a problem with your av/anti-spyware software if this keeps happening.

Firstly and most importantly DO NOT buy the 'software' they're offering you, it's just a scam to get your bank details. The last guy I spoke to who went along with this lost £500 in minutes.

Download ComboFix (on an uninfected machine), copy it to a memory stick and then boot yours in Safe Mode Plus Networking - you need to have internet access for this to work properly. Run ComboFix and while it's fixing the problem go make yourself a drink - this bit can take a while. Follow the onscreen prompts and it should clear your problem.

On my machine, Win 7 64-bit benchmarked significantly better than 32-bit XP on the same rig, so you should see a marked improvement. Don't forget that you'll want to use 64-bit drivers wherever possible, but 7 helps you there as well as in most cases, Windows Update will find the appropriate drivers for you. The exception should be the GPU, I always download the one I want directly from the chipset manufacturer (nVidia in my case).

Ah yes, my Goon Show odyssey continues, although it's getting difficult to find/rip off new epsiodes, still haven't reached 70 yet. Due to Aunties policy of record/wipe/record in the 50's, the first three series are missing in their entireity, even the Goon Show archive doesn't them (although they do have some of the scripts), and there are gaps elsewhere too. They're probably gone for good by now, but we live in hope...

Anyway, how many cassettes do you need doing Col?

Go for it C_G, I've been using the 64-bit version of 7 since the Release Client waaaay back and I honestly believe it's tbe best thing MS have done in a long time.

Steve Hinton has confirmed that the Horsemen will not be flying their normal 3-ship Mustang show during the remainder of this year's season as this display is not up to the necessary standards. However they will be flying a 2-ship display at Legends this year.

Pity, but explains why only two Mustangs have arrived at Duxford I suppose.

Rog, I was trying to help Painless with verifiying his UP3.0 downloads, and he said he was getting 15 errors.

Not believing that all his files were corrupt, I downloaded the first part and ran the MD5summer on my machine and it's giving me the same error (checksum does not match). Has something happened to the UP3.0 files in the Vault?
