Good, good. We'll have initial indications of room prices at the Red Lion for the weekend in question at the end of next week. I suggest we try to arrange a block booking for, say, ten rooms and see what they say. If we can guarantee filling those rooms and the bar for the weekend they may be prepared to do us a deal. I'm happy to start negotiations with them as soon as the prices are available.
On the other hand, if JP is prepared to work his magic again on the Whittlesford Holiday Inn, that's good too!
While there was nothing at all wrong with the hotel in Cambridge this year, it is handy having the bar and the airfield so close together. Personally, I'd prefer to be there if the price is right. I think the general opinion was the same?

Just checked with the holiday inn at whittlesford, and they're not accepting bookings for that weekend until next weekend.

Looks h/w related to me Arthur m8 although thats a fairly useless diagnosis given how many things it could be. I'd be inclined to run memtest too to rule out memory problems.

It works fine for me with the Sidewinder, throttle component of the X52 and my button bay (that's 3 controllers if you weren't counting - so it's not really the answer you were looking for

Sorry Snacko, the copy protection is handled by Steam, so the disk doesn't need to be in the drive for the game to run. I still prefer to install off the disk without having to d/l gigs of data on my crappy connection.

Hi GK. IMO the 4.10.1 Megapatch available in the Vault is the way to go. Simply install a stock 4.07, then run the Megapatch and it'll patch your install straight to 4.10.1 without the need for any additional steps. I've tried it and it works brilliantly.
If you want further assistance, I'll be on TS tonight so hop on and we can work it through.

OK, all sorts of goodies arrived in the post this morning, so I'm going to take a few days to read up on the source material before deciding on paint, particularly for the interior.
Here's a quick question though, the model comes with optional underwing wockets/wails as well as a belly drop tank - do I fit these or not?

Thanks for answering an unasked question about how you glue photoetch parts to the model.
I've ordered the kit from Hannants - airfix 1:48 seafire. Cheap n' cheerful plus big enough not to be too fiddly. Researching colour schemes now.
Got a load of other goodies on order too. Quite exciting really.
Also bought a big pack of blu-tack and several dozen cocktail sticks.

No, I wasn't serious, although I didn't fully understand what you meant. Toads post has clarified that nicely.
Here's a paint/glue related question though. I've noticed that when spraying fuselages and other large areas, you are going to spray over surfaces which may need to have glue applied for fitting antennas etc. Do new glues work with painted surfaces, or would you need to clean the surfaces of paint before glueing?

pantyhose and a vacuum cleaner to defeat the rug monster and recover small fiddley bits that tend to fly off, defy the laws of physics, and never land where you expect.
I don't see how hoovering whilst wearing pantyhose will help

My guess is ATC ordered him to orbit clear of the airfield until he could land and if they were investigating the incident he may not have been cleared to fly in the Balbo.
