Golf And Recreation Trip To Spain

Me and a golf playing friend flew to Mallorca for 11 days of playing golf trying hitting the ball and just doing nothing (exploring where to buy the cheapest wines and beers)the days between. We flew with Norwgian, a low fair company, from Copenhagen and paid about 150 Euro each including flight, golf bags and luggage. Extras were 180 km trip to/from Malmoe, parking 11 days and train to/from Copenhagen airport.

We had great luck since the weather has been terrible all spring but after we arriwed the tempeture got higher every day. Nights around 14-16 and day time 23 at highest. Fortunately we have air condition that also serve as a heater when cold inside.

The schedule was; first day taking it easy buying nescesarry stuff for breakfust etc. having a couple of beers on an outside restaurang, buing some drinks for the evening. Next day playing golf. Next day a road trip to a neighbour willage, drinking a couple beer and so on... We played 5 different courses. Two of them I had played before.

The golf courses had of course been suffering from the late spring and there was some empty spaces between the grass tufts. Some corses were all yellow since the grass hadn´t started to sprout yet. I think it was depending on what kind of grass they use. Bermuda grows slower and need higher tempeture to sprout.

Enough talking, here are some pics which I took with my new camera I bought since I did not want to bring my big and heavy one. I found a Panasonic Lumix Z1X (ZR1) in a photo store near were we stayed. I thought it was a bit expensive and started to haggle off the price. I got a 4Gb memory card for free so it was a deal.

Lots of pic´s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nowegian Boeing 737/800 pretty spacy inside and large enough to fly pretty steady.

First having a beer, or two...

....and then finding something to drink for the evening.

Buying breakfast and some food. Maby some more beer. March is orange season.

Second golf day (no pics from first day since I hadn´t bought my camera yet) we played Son Vida. One of the oldest courses of Mallorca. Many years ago they played Spanish Open here, and Mr. Ballestersos won the tournament. One could explain the course as an area of grass surronded by luxury villas.

Rolf is playing his third shot on a par 5. I hit the green in 3 as well. Easy par.

With all slow playing germans in front of us the sun almost set before we came in. The round took a horrendos 5 hours and 20 minutes to play! I would say, without bragging, we are playing on hcp 12 and hcp 9, and felt we were the best and fastest players around. It actually telling more about the other players...

Third course to play was Son Mutaner. They claim to be one of the 3 top corses on the island. I agree. Some years ago this course was not open for everyone, only if you stayed on a 5 star hotel connected to the course.

Our rental car, a small Fiat something. Not that many horse power but ok for parking lol.

Fourth course we played was Golf Park Sontido. A Jack Nicholas designed course with a huge amount of bunkers and pretty wide fairways.

Bermuda grass.

The weather wasn´t excellent, low clouds and a tiny bit of rain the first holes.

Last part of Mallorca Golf Trip.

And last course to be played, Poniente. Also one of the oldest courses on the island.

Before entering the golf course we had a beer and a hot sandwich.

Thank´s mates.

BG, the pictures are not showing any crouds (krauts - woo-hooo!) but belive me, we had to wait many minutes on every tee, and on fairways to make next shot. Fruteria, Que? Well, only a pic from one of many small grocery stores. I thought I saw some nice spanierians (spanish girls, not fruits)in there..

Jabo, my pics is on Flickr, maby that has something to do with it?

Snacko, lol, used the macro mode just in front of the berrys.

No m8, in this case I was just too impatient. The photos loaded a few seconds after I made my post - You will see it's now different.

Those are some wonderful pictures Mate.

It’s a very pretty area, and I especially like the house that you rented.

I’m also pleased to see that the very first thing you did upon arrival was to have a beer or two and then purchase a suitable supply of wine.

Even on vacation, you have upheld the high standards of behavior that are the mark of a true Danger Dog.

Well done Sir.
