Zooly
Windows 7 is streamlined and much more system friendly than Vista but I would still go with XP (for now anyway)
2. Administrators Jabo Posted October 20, 2009 2. Administrators Share Posted October 20, 2009 I wouldn't I'm afraid. Windows 7 has been stable and trouble-free (notwithstanding drive problems) for me since the Release Client came out, and I'm very happy with the performance of IL2 and Teamspeak on the 32 and 64 bit versions. When my copy arrives, I'll be on Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I'll keep XP on the machine in dual-boot config in case, but the whole thing looks good to me. JensenPark
what do the rest of you more-informed-than-me-computer-type-guys think of the guts they are putting in?
gec
looks great. but i would stick with Windows 7 32bit. If u do not know what u r doing u could be in a lot of problems with drivers and programs not compatible with 64bit.
2. Administrators Jabo Posted October 21, 2009 2. Administrators Share Posted October 21, 2009 So far I've got no problems with any of my kit running on 64bit Win 7 including TrackIR, and my x52pro. Even my Linksys wireless card (completely unsupported in Vista and XP 64bit) has a native driver. Support for 32 bit programs is also trouble-free. I've always had the impression that 64bit Vista and XP were something of a lash-up, but Win 7 64 bit is IMO very slick indeed. Plus you can wang more than 3.3GB of memory in and the OS can use it! I would point out that despite flying the flag for Win 7, I appreciate that it could all go to ratsh*t tomorrow. Jabo
