Trout
I think I may need a new joystick.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted March 10, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 10, 2009 Yes you can add another Joystick no problem. Where it gets a bit tricky is when you want to alter the response curves, because IL2 will likely still consider the X45 stick to be the primary controller. FoolTrottel (IIRC) created a utility to alter the curves on additional controllers.. It was indeed Mr FT and here is a link to IL2 Sticks: http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=332 Have you considered replacing the switch? Saitek may even send you one... alternatively try posting on the Saitek forums and someone may well be able to advise you on the process, and what switch to purchase.. HH_RitterCuda
I don't like Saitek I can break them in a month or less at one point I owned two X-45 one to use one in the shop.
Trout
Well I just found a 'mostly' brand new x45 for $20.
Perfesser
$20 is cheap enough to gamble on. Once you do have it I would go ahead and try to fix the original. You have a good electronics supply place right in town and have nothing to loose.
Rattler
I did the same thing with my CH Pedals and X-45; got them at the same time on Ebay, and they're still going strong after 3 years.
Crash
You can always use the old stick for a button bay (Mr FT knows ALL about this )

T_O_A_D
As mentioned. It can be st aside as a button bay and you can add any other stick you like to fly with. I have the X-45 Microsoft FFB Ch pedals combined. I have yet to find a throttle that allows me to do a few things, that the x-45 allows me. I'll be hard pressed to give it up. My x-45 stick axis has been banded to things like drop tanks, tail hook, open canopy, raise seat, all the buttons, are used for Bomb sites or Bail out under the flip switch cover. I use IL2 stick to manage my input curves.
