  1. ~S~ BB old chap, Excellent once again. Thanks for the entertainment. Seems that WAAF's have always had their legs on upside down not just in the 80's when I was in the RAF ~S~ P.
  2. ~S~ Skidders, Very nice M8. I remember you saying that the vac form kits were alot more work and by the looks of the raw parts it looks it ! The "Spitfire" of early jets with smooth lines and great proportion. Must be British ! LOL Cheers, P.
  3. ~S~ SkyPup, That pilot's breathing suggested that he was filled with "guarded optimism" for a successful landing ! LOL ~S~ P.
  4. ~S~ Brando, What a great insight into what the puplic were being told at the time. The clarity of the footage is excellent and "Mr Chumley Warner" commentates in many of them ! LOL I will enjoy watching all of the wartime films, thanks for the link M8. ~S~ Painless
  5. ~S~ Sir Thomas, Bloody funny M8 but proved what wusses blokes can be. I used that product to remove the hair from my palms and the soles of my feet, it didn't hurt a bit ! It was only later when [somehow] the residue on my palms found it's way onto my bollocks that a slight tingling sensation was apparent Give it go chaps. ~S~ Pain.
  6. ~S~ Skidders M8, I think we might have to include those two little missions in COOP evenings for a while until we get everyone down safely ! LOL ~S~ P.
  7. ~S~ Sfrost, As you can tell by the replies so far they are all F---ing bannanas (especially Typically Offensive And Daft ) LOL Welcome to the pound sir. They are a great bunch (of bannanas) ~S~ Painless
  8. ~S~ Chaps, A massive "thank you" to our very own JABO for spending many hours on TS helping me get things sorted. Thanks also to everyone who steered me in the right direction kicking and screaming ~S~ Painless.
  9. ~S~ Zip-Zap, Welcome to the "special place" for "special people" ~S~ Painless.
  10. ~S~ Rog, Thanks, I read the http://msdn.microsof...v=VS.85%29.aspx thread ,then I read it again. The fact that it says 163 out of 191 readers found that helpful just made me feel bad ! LOL So it's a safe way of increasing 32bit memory limits right. I think I had just better install 64 bit M8 Thanks very much for looking into it Rog. Cheers, Mick.
  11. ~S~ John Boy sir, That was absolutely fantastic to watch M8 ! I found myself actually clapping my hands together with joy as you got into the bomb aimers position. You are one lucky chap Snack ! The film itself was very professional looking and thank's for the mention I don't think that noise could ever be too loud.......maybe if you were stuck in there with a hangover for hours.(pass the oxygen) Brilliant thread ! ~S~ Painless.
  12. ~S~ Rog, Kev, Ross M8s, OK OK I get it ! I will be installing 64 bit as soon as the disc arrives fron uncle JABO. I was just curious to see if that patch worked at all. For gaming purposes the most important thing for me is stability so you guys are of course right. Having bought the 32 bit OS in error I had to at least try. Interesting experiment though Thanks again for the help. Cheers, Mick.
  13. ~S~ Chaps, First of all............LMAO ! Second of all look at this................ With 4x2GB Ram fitted in standard Win7 32bit mode.......... Now with 4x 2GB Ram fitted in Win7 32bit patched mode....... I'm no expert as you guys are painfully aware but the patch seems at least to recognise the extra Ram ? ~S~ P.
  14. ~S~ Chaps, Thanks very much Nick you have been a star ! Going on the general opinion I guess I will have to install the 64 bit windows 7 but I am still curious to see if that little program will allow the 32 bit OS to "see" more ram Will be buying and fitting 8G of ram tomorrow. Looks like we will be staying in on another TS "date" soon Nick ! LOL Thanks for all of the advise chaps ~S~ P. PS : anyone need 2x 2GB sticks of OCZ "Reaper" 800Ghz 5-5-5 DDR2 ram with the enormous cooling pipes ? (you can't put them in side by side slots !!)
  15. ~S~ Chaps, I have been given a little program that by passes the 32bit restriction on reading RAM.......... 4GB-RAMPatch-Multilingual-12.7.2010.exe What do you think ? I'm told that it has been tried and tested and it works. My M8 used AIDA64 which showed all of his 8GB of ram in use on his Windows7 pro 32bit system. Propnut: I will check out exactly which processor it has just as soon as I have walked the dog LOL EDIT: CPU Type DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E8200, 3200 MHz (8 x 400) Motherboard Name Asus P5K (3 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394) Still not sure if it is going to work, further testing required. If it doesn't I will have to change over to 64bit so no harm in trying : ) ~S~ P.
  16. ~S~ Chasps, BA: Maybe you are just finding shopping easier to carry because of all the body building you have been doing lately ? LOL Kev : You could be right but maybe they weren't quite sure about how things would go at the time, not every occurrence in war makes sense when looked back at many years later ay !.............we shall see Cheers, Mick. (the eternal optimist)
  17. ~S~ Well that's a good start. Kev: I have the Windows7 Pro 32bit version installed ! I was not aware that there is a problem with it ? Colin: I have copied my old C drive onto an external HD. Jedi: Thanks, it may take me a while to rearrange things so I can talk on TS again : ) ~S~ P.
  18. ~S~ Fine fellows, I am about to attempt my long awaited swap over to a newer gaming computer with Windows7 installed. Spec: 3.2Ghz Core 2 Duo (clocked) 8 Ghz ram 120G SSD HD +60G SSD HD + 1Tb conventional HD Nvidia GTX460 graphics 700W power. Windows7 pro. Not sure how it will go or how long it will take to get up to "flying" status. If I get stuck I will post here for a "grownup" to help me LOL Cheers, Mick.
  19. ~S~ BA M8, As you know you are my spiritual mentor so I'm not sure that I would feel comfortable taking your money !!! LMAO Seriously, I know all the arguments against these Spits (MK XIVs apparantly) being buried in the first place rather than destroyed, being stored to last, and surviving all these years in such a wet climate BUT........One reason for their careful burial has been voiced and that is... because there was a certain amount of capture, retreat, re capture going on within that area at the time, the Spits were buried with the intensioin of being dug up for use by the allies undiscovered by the Japs at a later date. Also the Burmese government are trying to get in with the west right now so they will not stand in the way of the recovery operation. What do you think chaps ?? ~S~ Painless
  20. ~S~ Todd, Yup they are mostly Michael Schumacher cars from his Ferrari days. I used to collect one metal model every Christmas : ) Cheers, Mick.
  21. ~S~ Chasps, It would be really incredible if even one airworthy Spit was assembled from the "crates" but I too have some doubts about the condition they might be in. There is still the possibility that nothing worthwhile will be recovered but I'm going to keep an open mind. Just to reassure myself that I still have a few "optimistic" bones left in my body at 51.......I will bet £5 sterling with any ONE DD that there is a Spit or Spits found in a recoverable to airworthyness condition ! Bet to be settled at Duxford.(2075) ~S~ Penniless.
  22. ~S~ Nick, Sorry missed this post, Me !! ~S~ P.
  23. ~S~ Brando M8, Hey no worries my friend I dislike nearly all things political as a default setting LOL Now all we need is 100+ 109F's in crates found buried just outside of Dublin ! (to make it a fair fight) Mick.
