How do either of these dates sound for the running of the mission I have previously advertised?
If this does not suit overseas Dogz I would be happy to send someone the mission so you guys could fly it in your time zone, but it would be good to have a nice collection together.
-
OK let's get a date(s) in the diary then.
How about Thursday 20th or Thursday 27th July?
I will start a special notification thread.

If anyone would like to book in to see our very own Dangerdogz Medic (DD_Soapy, he really is a Doctor) I am taking appointments. A <cough> donation to the "Church Fund" will assist with the administration.
Obviously, anything you tell Soapy during a consultation is strictly between you and him (if you decide to go for the "Gold" level donation that is), anything else may be used against you should I find you on my six.
That aside, hope you have a speedy recovery Wingflyr. arnica is very good for the bruising.

Thanks you in advance.

I have now updated the first post with the latest spreadsheet of who has what.
-
I have added the following planes (based on what jets get flown on a Thursday UK session), have I missed anything?
I have added slots for cold start and hot start for each plane
F14, F15, F16, F18, A10 II, AV8, Mirage 2000, Mirage F1, Viggen, Bronco, A4-E, Apache, Huey, Gazelle

great work FT I am currently building a map. Then I will do Normandy so all the WWII stuff (and I16) can get a look in

i will update the list - enjoy!
-
I have downloaded a template which has lots of targets / defenses already populated (link here: - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3325667/ )
I have started using Al Dhafra Air Force Base as Dogzford - good / right choice?

I am going to start work on building a home base for the Persian Gulf map.
Where do peeps think DCS Dogzford should be placed?

see first post

@delta7 - I would wait for a bit if I were you - depends if you are looking to play off line or not.
I think the Normandy map will be one of the maps in rotation as it seems to be popular, would it not be better to spend you money on that as it does cover a large part of England as well as the channel?
-
Done mine the other day after you told me off for not having it....
-
-
How about we get an idea of who has which map so that we could perhaps look at doing a rotation on a Thursday evening?
As the sale is currently on might be a chance for us to get "synergy"*
*a mutually advantageous conjunction or compatibility of distinct business participants or elements (such as resources or efforts)

How about picking up Persian Gulf map? Its $24.99 - It has been out a while and most of us have it. If we knew that it could be the lowest common denominator perhaps we could build a new set of missions for Thursday nights.?
I will start a poll now I think to capture which maps people have. Perhaps we could do a rotation of missions to mix it up a bit. Gulf, Normandy, Caucasus etc?
I would be happy to put the ground work in in building the maps if the likes of Fenrir or Fruitbat could "finesse" them?
-
I know it all depends on what day / time we run this but if you would like to take part can I have some indication of what you would like to fly. I know some people are a given i.e. Fenrir F14, myself Apache but what would others like?
It will help me to see if I need to add some more targets suitable for the attacking plane.
I will then build up a list of who is what and could then perhaps also organise some command structure?
-
Salute,
I am pleased to present my first scenario based DCS mission "Downed Pilot". I have tried to incorporate planes for all roles (Really sorry FT but I could not find anything for the I-16 can we tempt you into something else? happy to adjust the mission for you).
All we need to do is to find a night to host it on? Suggestions welcome. Thanks to DD_Fenrir for assistance with some of the techie bits.
I hope the scenario works, but as it is my first go at this sort of thing I am sure you will forgive me if it does not quite go as I think it will.......
The full mission briefing is shown below;
PILOT DOWN
Last night whilst returning from a mission, Captain Bruce Williams (call sign "Brewster") was shot down but ejected safely. His data shows that his plane crashed North East of Pokyesh (Grid Ref GH1141). Captain Williams also activated his personal tracker which shows he headed South East during the night covering approximatley 12km. His track is availble on the mission map. His last reported position was at 04:00 this morning just North East of Achigvara (Grid Ref GH12). No further track has been recorded so we can only assume that as light started to break he has gone to ground in this area.
We will therefore focus our seach in this location.
A search zone has been marked on the mission map.
The Captain is one of our most senior and experienced pilots and know he will deploy SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) training. He will fire 2 ORANGE flairs when he has visual contact with the search teams and also set off an ORANGE smoke canister.
The recovery helicopters should land close to this position. Capt Williams may also place some sort of ground marker to assist with the pick-up point. Look out for anything unusual in the area.
Once you have landed, Captain Williams will break cover and come out to the LZ.
He must be recovered at all costs.
The enemy are active in this zone both in the air and on the ground and will be out to stop his return.
Good luck Gentlemen. High Command and Captain Williams are counting on you to pull this off.

Following the recent Teamspeak update that came out, some Dangerdogz have been having issues with binding hotkeys directly to their HOTAS.
Deacon at 352nd and some of his guys have been having the same issue. He has kindly provided a roll back to the previous version.
