  1. Hi guys, after the bit of confusion we had the other night ref take off and landing on runways/taxiways, I posted a question on the battle-fields.com forum, here are the replies http://www.battle-fields.com/commscentr ... hp?t=15251 it seems that there are no rules, just watch out for others, although this does not stop you being rear-ended as Jim can testify to! (which happened right in front of me as I was waiting to move off)
  2. great flying with you dave, our success was down to you, but i did find it really exciting getting a good kill like that. salute Frior
  3. bought the kite off a guy on the beech. you could see how far he had walked by all the planes that were in the air! got the t-shirt in kenya about 15yrs ago! Hakuna Matata = "no worries/no problem"

    Hello

Welcome Ammodawg, Should you feel the need to unburden yourself with any stories of wild going ons at 30,000 feet I would just like you to know that as Squad Chaplin (of no denomination) and representative of the Priory Of St Oleg I am here for you. Goood flying with you last night, Cheers Frior.
  7. is that because he seems good at "rolls"
  8. Greyknight, You can not pay any attention to the box cover and skill settings, i had a model once that I made and it said 3-6yrs on lid but I did it in 3 months!
  9. i've fixed it greyknight, it works now
  10. have'nt received it yet, hopefully tuesday.
  11. Gentlemen of the DangerDogz, I salute you ! Many thanks for the hits and tips, they are very much appriciated. I am the type of person that would rather do a few weeks of research and asking simple questions than just go and do it and have to spend hours trying to sort things out afterwards. Your patience and advice is very welcome. S! Frior.
  12. having successfully installed a new cpu, other thing Quazi advised was to upgrade my sound card with one that has its own processor. I have taken his advice and purchased a soundblaster audigy 2 pci card. I will be swapping out a standard soundblaster pci card. Delta7 has adived in the tail end of my cpu thread to install it in the "bottom slot" because of icq issues. Would dave or someone else please explain the best way of deinstalling a standard pci sound card and replacing it with one that has an onboard processor.
  13. yep, the one i am going to install does have its own processor, it a soundblaster audigy 2. by the bottom one, do you mean the pci slot closest to the motherboard, or the one furthest away? i think i am going to start a new thread for this............
  14. why should i not just swap out the one i already have?
  15. @Jabo - no problem mate, if I have requested help I will take anything thats given. To all who have chipped in with advice..... I am pleased to report that this post has been made on a computer running with a new cpu
  16. people from London dont have accents, it is where english started after all, its the rest of the world that speak it funny.
  17. ray, dont fret so. there have many times when you have out flown me in dogfights and co-ops. perhaps you experience is a lesson for us all to learn when we pile into something like this, and a good reason for having this debreif, if it looks like that we are going to have to split, then perhaps the more expirenced hyperlobby flyers could step forward and ask if anyone wants to swap sides inorder that the more unsure of us have someone they know to fly with and to guide them a little? ~S~
  18. i lost mine last night
  19. I thought that I would start athread for people to comment on last night (Thursday 26th) flying on Hyperlobby. We flew on UK dedicated 3. I for one had a great time. I quite liked the icon settings, name only for friendly, nothing for bad guys. The server was smooth, great atmosphre on ts, working as a proper squadron at times, having to shoot down our own at others (sorry sparrow ). I nearly came away with a score of about 500 but for a misunderstanding on a taxi way, no names
  20. right, well the paste and the clearner arrived today, so tonight I opened her up to have a peek at what was there. the heatsink is quite large and is held in place by fitting some lugs under a bracket at one end and a retaining leaver at the other. the heatsink once in place covers the latch for lifting the cpu. i removed the heatsink by raising the latch, lifting at one end to release the lugs from the clamp at the other. to my surprise there does not appear to be any paste between the cpu and heatsink. i opened up an old pc at work and removed the heatsink and cpu to see what they were all about. on that one there is clear evidence of a "patch" where the paste was in place. on my one it looks totally clean. the silver patch located on the base of heatsink is clean. my question is are there "conductorpasteless" heatsinks? and have i got one? my second problem is that i planned to use the "twist and spread" method once i had put the paste on the cpu thermal pad. i picked this because i tried using an old credit card to spread some paste on the old one i had brought home from work, and well quite frankly, made a bit of a mess!. once the heatsink is clamped into place, there is no lateral movement to twist it. there is a couple of mm side to side movement but that is all. would a rice grain sized "blob" of paste be spread enough just by pressing the hinksink down on top of it and then giving a little side to side slide? i did read on the articsilver website that the paste does only need to be in the middle as if the heat pad was removed (and a picture was shown to illustrait this) the core of the cpu is only in the middle. i decided to put everything back and post here for further advice / support. Salute! Frior
  21. the area i live has been ok, i live on higher ground. where i work got flooded on friday of last week though. our warehouse was flooded though up to about 3 feet, luckily, the stock is on pallets on racks so is off the floor. The youtube video was taken from just round the corner from where I work. Note: there are NO rivers nearby, it was very heavy and prolonged rain downfall.
  22. Hi guys, I've had this idea of something to do one night whilst we organize the next seow. How about an il2 version of the Ryder Cup. For all you that do not know what the Ryder Cup is, its a golf competition, Europe v America. Well my version is as follows; Europe v America and Canada Series of 1 v1, 2 v 2, 4 v 4 and mass dog fight. Each side departs to their own ts room and draws up their playing roster. Once done all players meet back up in the general ts room. 1 player from each side then drop down into the red and blue rooms. In the red room the blue team gives the red team its roster, then at the same time in the blue room the red team is giving the blue team its roster. This way neither side can pick and choose who they fly against. We use the island dog fight map. We all use the same plane, say zero or p40 or a.n. other 1 team at 12'o clock the other at 6 o'clock Normal icons, external views on (so we can all watch the action) Each match lasts say 4 minutes. 3 points for a victory, 1 for a draw. Once the plane is picked perhaps someone could do an all red and all blue skin? Just a bit of fun for one night only What say you Dogz?
  23. no, its as seen in the photo, an oem i suppose. your right about the paste, in the link delta7 sent, it says that it should be the size of a grain of rice. it is spread by twisting the heatsink over it.
