  1. Hi guys, I've had this idea of something to do one night whilst we organize the next seow. How about an il2 version of the Ryder Cup. For all you that do not know what the Ryder Cup is, its a golf competition, Europe v America. Well my version is as follows; Europe v America and Canada Series of 1 v1, 2 v 2, 4 v 4 and mass dog fight. Each side departs to their own ts room and draws up their playing roster. Once done all players meet back up in the general ts room. 1 player from each side then drop down into the red and blue rooms. In the red room the blue team gives the red team its roster, then at the same time in the blue room the red team is giving the blue team its roster. This way neither side can pick and choose who they fly against. We use the island dog fight map. We all use the same plane, say zero or p40 or a.n. other 1 team at 12'o clock the other at 6 o'clock Normal icons, external views on (so we can all watch the action) Each match lasts say 4 minutes. 3 points for a victory, 1 for a draw. Once the plane is picked perhaps someone could do an all red and all blue skin? Just a bit of fun for one night only What say you Dogz?
  2. no, its as seen in the photo, an oem i suppose. your right about the paste, in the link delta7 sent, it says that it should be the size of a grain of rice. it is spread by twisting the heatsink over it.
  3. thanks for the link dave, thats the kind of guide I had been looking for. off to overclockers to order some paste and cleaner............
  4. gee, i wish you guys lived nearer for a bit of hand holding.. first time i've done this, so understandably nervous of cocking the whole pc up!
  5. so i dont spread anything onto the actual cpu? as seen in my pictures in the first post of this thread?
  6. i am a little confused, is the "heatsink" the silver coloured metal square on top of the cpu or is it the thing that fits down to the cpu from the fan?
  7. @b16 - "bum", I was hoping that it could drop straight in. I am concerned about getting the thinkness of the paste correct. is this the only way of doing it, I thought I read somewhere "pads" were mentioned. could i not get one of those? @crash - thanks, possibly if the cpu works out ok, i am also looking at a better sound card with onboard processing, audigy2.
  8. Hi guys, I have just received a new cpu for my machine. I was hoping it would come with some install notes, but it does'nt. Before I attempt to install it, do I need any heat paste etc. I have included a couple of pictures.
  9. The Priory, being a modern, forward thinking organization, believes that our Sisters should use every opportunity available to them to maximise their income generating potential. As a result of the ever growing Interweb, we decided to set up special I.T classes as it was reported to us that many women are generating vast incomes without actually having to go out to work and just lie around on couches and beds all day. Well the classes have been going so well that, as a spin off from their course work the Sisters have created a small site for the Priory. So I would like to invite you all to pop over and have a look by Clicking Here. The Sisters would welcome any feed back you have, so please leave your comments for me and I will forward them on. Frior. Edit: Could any tecnical Guru's let me know why when the site is viewed with Firefox yahoo puts up an annoying advert box but I.E does not.?
  10. Sparrow, thats so simple, so obvious, and yet so brilliant...I will make it my mantra from this day forth.
  11. @Greyknight, Are not the two the same in this instance. it would give a person the chance to find out where to aim to allow for lag.
  12. i had not really given it much thought
  13. no sure if i can make it tonight BG, but great if others find it useful, then perhaps they can relay their expirences through the forum.
  14. As the issue of natural internet lag and shooting has come up, would it be possible for 1 of our hosts, say for 15-20 minutes of the dogfight session have the difficulty setting set to invinceable and unlimited ammo so that we could all do some testing. I too find that my shooting is much better off line.

  16. Problem is now fixed. Thanks to bboke for the material
  17. Watch out Flatspinman, being the son of a lawyer, there is bound to be some wicked pre-nuputial contract stuck in Cold_Gamblers sons nappy! I do tend to get booked up pretty early, but if you two fathers would like me to perform the wedding ceremony, I would be only too pleased.
