  1. ok, thanks again for your wonderful help o wise one, not to be confused with O'Dimone, the Irish Chicken breeder from County Bilmarmney in Southern Ireland who has been breeding Chickens with 4 legs so that everyone can have a drumstick for Sunday lunch, trouble is they are so fast no one has yet been able to cath one to see what they taste like! 2. I am now thinking of getting an external hard drive to do some backing up of pictures etc. My machine is getting a biot tight for space, it only had a 40gb hard drive as standard when i bought it and thought that it would be plenty

    Headsets

i would have thought the cheapest and easiest solution would be, like roger suggested use a splitter. i use one for my set up. please excuse this if you know what a splitter is My set-up (I turn my speakers off when using the headset)
  4. you need a display utility called "teamspeak display". google for it. when installed, it will display a little window that you can position anywhere on your screnn. it will sit on top of the game screen. when playing i 1. start track ir 2. start ts display 3. start ts and minimise once logged in 4. start game it will give you the names of the people speaking.
  5. yea, but did you spot the video on the same site of the trick play at a school football game. the quarter back pulls out of the set with the ball held high in 1 hand as if there is something wrong with it and walks towards the side lines, then when clear makes a run for a touch down, brilliant!

  10. many thanks for the heads-up, but i dont think I am going to push it. i am now happy with what i have. the grass could look greener over the fence but there could be a mole waiting to put up a dirty big pile of earth!
  11. wow, thanks guys. i have had my head down all afternoon working on this and have only just just checked the forum. i was pretty pleased with myself having established that the character i was after was char(13). having done that i was able to make progress using left amd mid functions to pull out what i need and think that i am nearly there. many thanks chris for all your all work and giving me the direction. salute Colin.
  12. they should all have postcodes. there are about 1400 the only way i know how to extract them is via a Crystal Report I have written, then export that to a .txt file and then import to excel. (although I can export straight to excel from the report)
  13. IF i was female i would be your bitch the only thing is that is does not seem to work for multiple accounts, i suppose it cant tell where one finishes and the next begins, so understandable i suppose. guess i will just have to do them 1 by 1
  14. i am trying to get an extract from our main system (which runs under sql server) of our name and address file in to excel. the field has a maximum size of 160 characters and it is being exported with embedded carriage returns at name, address1, address2 etc. i need to be able to split these into seperate cells a1=name, b1=address1, c1=address2 etc any one know how to do this or if its even possible ?
  15. thanks chris, i did come across your previous diagram this morning when reviewing this thread. i did not think that from the way the cables were connected that it would have been possible to put the gfx on its own, i do remeber now dave pointing this out before. I will have another look tonight when i get home to see if i can re-arrange them. Salute and thanks once again
  16. Well, I have to say that I am a "happy bunny" Having picked up a Molex power splitter cable yesterday lunch time, I hurried home with some excitment. Got dinner out of the way, cleared the table and set about putting the 6800 in. Step 1 - I downloaded and installed the latest nvidia drivers which are applicable for both the fx5200 and the 6800. re-booted the machine and tested. All Ok Step 2 - To give the card a bit more room I decided to remove a redundant dial-up modem and move the sound card to a new slot to leave some space around the graphics card. I de-installed the modem and re-booted. tested - All Ok Step 3 - De-installed the sound card, shut down, moved the card to a new slot. Re-booted. Ran dxdiag and tested. All OK Step 4 - Fitted the molex y splitter to the floppy drive feed, swapped out the fx5200 for the 6800, re-booted. Ran dxdiag again and tested display. All Ok Step 5 - Started up the game and ran the Black Death track. Max fps has gone up to around 60, average low 40's. This has gone up from an average of about 24 fps. Step 6- Go to bed with large grin on my face. Many thanks to those that have helped me in my recnt spate of upgrades (BBloke, Quazi on email, Delta7, B16enk and Crash) Cpu, Sound card and now graphics card. Total cost was about £70 spread over about 4 months. Of course, the only trouble is...when I was walking to work this morning, it got me thinking....., I now have a half decent sound and graphics package, I have an operating system (thanks bbloke
  17. oh great, just what we need, "dead eyed dick" getting even better.......
  18. is he trying to pull the wool over our eyes.......
  19. well done yourself and BG, its your insane banter that keeps it at the top of the forum.
  20. hello, i am currently converting the 633 squadron mission map into a dogfight map. I have removed all the flights and felled a couple of hundred trees. The bases are well populated and have lots of hidden targets in hangers, my problem is working out spawn points. Am i commited to playing on my own, spawning, taking a picture, going back intot he map putting a static plane in that position to force the game to pick another spot and so on untill all the spawn points have been plotted. or, as I am typing this some thing reminds me that is it not possible to enter the spawn co-ordinates in the properties file.... I await your responses but will check out my hunch when i get a chance. Salute Frior.
  21. hi crash, i have sent a pm to say that i am now interested in the 6800 frior
  22. very good, on my recent flight home from from spain, the attendant had a similar sence of humor. during the safty announcement he slipped in. "....masks will drop from the ceiling above you and oxygen is provided free of charge for your use"

    TrackIr questions

welcome to the wonderful world of track ir ! I have the space bar set for centre, its easy to hit when the need arises. BBloke is right about the hat switch, using only the in-game assignments (i dont run stick software on my saitek evo) i have the hat set for elevator trim pos and neg (left and right) and flaps (up and down) i started off with charvels profile but then tweaked it to my preference. Salute Frior
  24. when you click on the floppy icon to save it, it should ask in what format, i selected jpeg, and you then select the location.
