I was just wondering what the views were on the latest patch? I have only tried out a limited planeset so was wondering what others felt about their fav rides. I think it has balanced things up quite a bit - the fw has improved and so has the 109 while the spit has been toned down a bit. I used to feel really safe in a spit on warclouds but my record recently has been poor. The p47 and p-51 seem better too. I think the 50cals have been improved and also the fws hitting power, but Im not sure about spits. My only grump, and youve got to have one

ok getting a handle on this - the janesoft mod switcher works well. you basically set up a mods folder using janesoft switcher, and within this create seperate folders for each mod e.g. BOE OESTFRONT etc 1) BOE wont install into a folder unless it sees il2fb.exe so copy this from your 46 folder into the folder you want to install BOE into and then it installs fine. 2) install all addons into their own folder within the mods folder and not into 46 main folder 3) the only things that conflict with any addons are the dgen and dgen folder so you can copy the missions, paintschemes etc from the addon into your main folder 4) this will leave you with 4 items in each add on folder; dgen.exe ngen.exe dgen folder and ngen folder 5) the mod switcher copies these into the main folder to allow you to play then switches it out when you dont want to use the mod and returns the default items 6) you will need to add the new dgen and dgen folder items from ian boys available from simhq forums to play some of the new campaign and maps like burma 7) there is a multipatch for boe - if you use this then dont use any of the files apart from the 4 listed above or it will screw up your install as happened to me. hope this makes sense dave

well I uninstalled oestfront and boe and tried to get them to install with the mod switcher and boe completly fucked my install so I had to uninstall and reinstall 46 again. a day wasted. Iv also forgoten my tld password so cant install this - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR will try again next week when Iv got some time

while most have it- some like me are patched with the beta and some are not - Id wait and continue on 4.05m until final patch is released and we all have this.

Iv got a nikid girrl and squirrly squirel and other strange pilots lurkin in mine

I had a frame rate drop when I first installed it but I just copied over my old config file from 4.05 install into 4.07 and everything went back to normal

Guys my family have recognised my slippage into full blown obsession with warbirds and bought me a revill 1/48th scale spitfire kit for christmas. garypuddle is right - TIR4 can just about run without v-sync but still can get some tearing - its up to user - FPS or IQ mates

OK from gamecopyworld you want the il246[multi3]fixed.exe (4.0 mb) download. 1) in 46 main folder make a new folder and rename this backup 2) copy your 46.exe from main folder into backup 3) download the fixed.exe 4) extract using winrar to a folder ( I have a folder on my pc called "download" that I created and download everything into this. I can then virus check this folder prior to copying or installing from here) 5) copy the fixed 46.exe from your download folder into your main 46 folder 6) answer yes to the question about overwritting the existing file 7) doubleclick new il246.exe and viola bobs yer aunties live in lover

colin-here is the best guide to getting the most from your drivers http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_1.html I wouldnt set your AA or AF higher than 2* as you will suffer from frame rate drop with your card - play black death in excellent and you should hopefully get low 30s average fps at 1024*768 but you might have to drop to 800 * 600 I noticed an increase in black death in 46 when I copied my config file from my old install. I would also make sure that I dont have the text at the top describing what the AI are saying and make sure your sound settings are ok and that will help

thanks jim - the fixed exe works well - only problem is I have to go back to 1280*1024 resolution when I use it but loads faster

the native resolution on my lcd is 1280*1024 and everything looks nice and detailed at this, however the game was set up and optimised at 1024*768 and I find that I can see the dots and aircraft better at this resolution , as klinger says the iq isnt as good overall but Ill put up with this for the benifits of spotting the bandits better.
