  4. new release delayed until 8/12/06 - rats just ordered it last night
  5. I am hoping to put together a short film on how to use this- WTF is it some may ask well here is some VERY interesting links if you are into finding out more on air combat. http://www.d-n-i.net/second_level/boyd_military.htm and http://www.d-n-i.net/boyd/pdf/boydaerialattack.pdf Ill let you all know how I get on with this, its my first attempt at a film so could be a while. 6. The plan is to get something down on the OODA loop and how your choices and decisions during a flight are what matter. It was sparked by this quote from someone on warclouds " ...the success or failure of combat boils down to which pilot makes the fewer mistakes. Period. Always been that way and always will be. The flight or aircraft attributes play a much smaller factor than what people think. If you blame the aircraft for getting killed you aren't learning anything. ....the problem isn't in the aircraft. It's either the tactics, or the observe, orient, decide and act thought process of the downed pilot was slower than the one that scored the victory." there might also be a wee bit on the particular types of aircraft - energy fighter vs turn fighter and how to try to use them to their strengths but I dont want to overload the audience or stray too far from trying to get folk to use the OODA loop more as a tool to help stay alive. hartmann he used the same method - calling it the coffee break. "See - Decide - Attack - Coffee Break": observe the enemy, decide how to proceed with the attack, make the attack and then disengage to re-evaluate the situation. Famously, Hartmann once described dog-fighting as "a waste of time". Ill keep you all posted with progress but might take a while as its the first time Iv tried this and I need to work with painless to get his input as well so we get 2 sides to a situation.
  7. thanks guys, I have movie maker so just need to get fraps. I plan to do a short training film based on a track of one of our fights, painless and I are going to attempt to commentate on the fight from 2 different sides with 2 dissimilar planes ( a fw190 and spit.) I need to plan it out -what exatly I want to do and the best way to present it and I dont want to make it too long so I dont bore the pants off everyone.
  8. because scarey glasgow car salesmen freak me out BLouse !!! Take the girlfriend along - get her to put on her angry face - the one you get when you have been playing il2 for 4 hours and you promised to take her out .... in a minuite. get her to nurse her wrath and keep it warm .... then unleash her full fury on the bloke and watch him crumble.
  9. We remember them. All of them. In Flanders fields the poppies still grow. ~S~ Dave
  10. take it back - tell the service manager exactly your concerns - it should have been serviced and MOted for you at the garage as part of the sale. It sounds more and more like the battery as it could have been sitting idle on a forecourt for a while. Squeeking is normal on a new set of pads as they bed in so that might be the case here A 7 yr old motor will have the odd squeek and rattle but shouldnt be anything that would cause you concern You should still have a cooling off period so threaten to return the car and get your money back if not satisfied, that should get you a new battery and set of pads if required. A mechanical warrenty wont cover things that wear out
  11. Oh mystic guru of film........... what is the best way to record a commentry over a track and release it as a short film - like how dart does his instructional videos?

  16. http://www.dangerdogz.com/downloads/p13 ... fileid/165 track of fight last week fw190 vs spit - flew well mostly , my AI winggie could have helped more
  17. good post glenn the wingmen behave the same in campaigns so Im used to sending them off to previous waypoint or to break when landing. I lost a lot of planes when playing campaigns due to idiotic AI crashing into me. the "anyone help me" is usefull ,tho if anyone remembers me cursing like a rabid dog as painless got me on Sunday ,while my wingie went on a sunday drive, then they will know it doesnt always work. "ground control request assistance " sometimes works as well- the ground control will vector ai to you there is a full list of wing man commands here http://airwarfare.com/mediawiki-1.4.5/i ... _the_radio useful for directing them to attack ground targets etc you will only get certain commands if you are flight leader tho also remember that you can ask the tower to direct you to action or home base - another useful command another odd charecteristic is if you get the flight leader to crash the rest of the flight will follow him down ?!? and end up crashing too. 18. I have origonal DVD - it is the story of JH marseilles and includes clips and interviews. mine has subtitles. I also have me109 in combat,fw190 in combat, p38 lightning,P-47 thunderbolt, corsair, and "blenhem the forgotten bomber" DVDs if anyone wants copies I m sure I can do something for you. the p-47 has great colour films and lightning has good interviews with developer, test pilot and combat veterens, surprising how much charles lindburg was involved in assisting US air force one classic quote was the ine interview with a veteren who flew the "fighter " version of the blenhem on coastal patrol. cant recall exact words but went along the lines of "did you ever fire on any german aircraft" " well our plane was 100 knots slower than them and so we didnt shoot at them if we saw them; in case they chased us and shot back"
  19. interesting points here- may be better to pick number 2 slot on co-ops if it behaves like this online as well as in campaigns http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards ... 4;t=006791
  20. my review at airwarfare- http://www.airwarfare.com/AWX/features/ ... review.htm it is an outstanding piece of software and well supported at his site and at airwarfare forums http://www.airwarfare.com/phpBB2/viewfo ... 2d4878384d S delta
