ok Im having big problems with inputs I have a Saitek X-52 running in windows 7 pro joystick is set up to match inputx on the saitek software not in game The joystick works fine in windows and il246 HSFX and when I do the test joystick in profiler however there are problems when in BOX 1) when I change modes e.g from 2 to 1 all kinds of shit happens, e.g the autopilot comes on by itself and the pinky shift on the joystick doesnt work right and then I lose all my bindings when I go back to mode 2 even the keyboard wont work 2) sometimes when I go to external view F2 then back to internal F1 I loose all controls including keyboard 3) I cant get man prop pitch to work , I can switch from auto to manual but then neither keyboard nor binding buttons or a hat will work I have it mapped to LSHIFT+ - and LSHIFT+= 4) it doesnt seem to understand difference between keys and shift keys ???? another problem is that the launcher wont close properly and sometimes hangs- any ideas folks ???????????

Has anyone tried to contact those who were once regular on here but have fallen away ? Perhaps there is a way to get them back from time to time, might just be mission types or time slots that we could adjust, probably "Real Life " sim but might be worth an e-mail shot

For me il2 is still the king- it offers the diversity of planesets and gameplay that the others simply do not. However how long can it still reign ? If it is coming to its end then obviously we must look at alternatives. So here are my thoughts on the pretenders to the crown CloD - this is a hobbiest development, cant see where its going or how fast DCS - too complicated for the more casual type of flyer which I think is the majority BoX- looks to be the best option, but still frustrated by cost of getting into it and lack of some game modes such as co-op. If they can fix this then Id be willing to move to it Where does that leave the Dogz , well firstly unless we sort out the finances and support the site then at one point we will be even more casual. I also dont believe we will recruit many more younger players to join us as the WW2 sim base was always smallish and generally appeals to older folk with the likes of battlefield more suited to the younger generation. For the established players the variaty of sims has split even this small base,with mod versions and other sims. We are known in the IL2 community and have a server for CLod so that leaves the alternatives and why would anyone established in BoX leave their squad for us? So in summery to keep the Dogz going I think we sort out the finances and wait developments. Once BoX has co-ops then we can have a further discussion on hosting these, however this would split the group further as we already host il2, CloD and DCS.

ok seem to have the hang of it now - whats important is to follow the video and do the pretarget selection and start automation- adjust speed until the sight is steady on point - turn off automation - raise sight and align on true target then start automation again- continue to adjust true air speed to keep sight locked on and it hits. I wasnt believing that tas would be significantly higher so that caused the bombs to drop long

I used to be ok at bombing using the bombsight, havnt done it in a while but started practicing and find I am dropping long. I use the automatic bombsight as in this video. I have read thors bombing guide and one or two others but the one I use seemed the easiest and used to work is it still ok with mods or do you chaps use a different method that works for you? do I just need more practice?

Thanks , here are my thoughts from the thread about missions I like the missions to be roughly balanced , it annoys me when I get bounced by vast numbers of enemies in superior planes while I have to make do with an underrated model although I moan about russian shite and biplanes , I really dont mind them once in a while but like Pooka I prefer later war planes. I dislike long missions cause if anyone gets shot down early then its a loooooooooonnnnngggggggggg wait untill others finish and land. The best are SEOW type missions where we team up and take off together with a definate plan.........but then again .I suppose we could always read the breif tho on co-ops Ill look into the ip thingy once I get everything settled

Id like to try out some hosting, on Tuesday it was quiet and FT kindly hosted even tho he was not flying but I would be willing to act as backup. I have a few ideas id like to do but first id like some testing done so that I know I can host and pings are ok. If anyone would like to volunteer for testing then let me know what times you are available and if we can get 2 or 3 together than ill give it a go. Its many many years since I hosted so it is likely to be troublesome until I get it sorted out but hopefully we can work it out
