  1. Hello Pooka. I do occasionally play BoS in multiplayer but the game - and RoF too - seems to require an internet connection of a higher order than CLoD or IL2 1946. My internet is still stuck in the stone age for several more months so if i want to fly BoS online it's got to be after 11p.m. - when local internet useage is going down. You really do need a wing man at least to make the most of BoS multiplayer so I'm waiting.....for a decent connection and enough Dogz to take an interest to make it worth while. Plenty of stuff to do in BoS off line nowdays.
  2. Wow!!! Absolute bargain! Grab it quick m8 Here you go, Gec. A quick landing the LaGG video tutorial. I still can't stop the bloody thing ground looping!
  3. The Occulus dev kits were made in China - or was it Hong Kong?
  4. A couple of predictions; Sony will release a VR unit tied to some sort of Playstation 5 release. Whatever Occulus release this year, next year you'll be able to buy something very similar direct from China for less than £150 including p&p.

    New Toy Mmm

January. One way or another, all thoughts turn to SATS........ @ Blubear; 'fraid I'm a fat-fingered fifty year old so I've had to become really good with a micro soldering iron! I also have a little collective pitch Hisky which is around 6" long and for me is like juggling a bucket of frogs. On a good day its like juggling a bucket and a frog. Thank goodness for throttle hold!

    New Toy Mmm

Wow! A Great Northern Atlantic. That is nice . I notice they do a model for Painless too; http://www.bachmann.co.uk/image_box.php?image=images1/branchline/31-531.jpg&cat_no=31-531&info=0&width=650&height=211 By a strange coincidence my loved ones clubbed together er...last August (coughs slightly) and got me this for chrimbo! Managed to fly it this morning for the first time - in between rain storms and now have a muddy chopper

    New Toy Mmm

Awoke yesterday morning bright and early to discover a; it was NOT raining! b; was gonna' have a "food baby" Decided to take advantage of a by walking off b. Taken with my now old but still favourite toy. Anyone got any new toys for Christmas?
  9. Blimey, they're not cheap are they? One of my brothers used to have one of these sort of things and I seem to recall the antennae was a really important part of the kit. He ended up buying a large extension one with a magnetic base that sat on top of the car roof! He wasn't that interested in listening in but it became a battle of wills; he'd bought the bloody thing, therefore he was determined to make it work. . Next time you have to drive by East Midlands Airport have it ready. Five to ten miles distance does not sound a long way away but the stock antennae might mean you have to be in line of sight sometimes. Civil airbands are in the 109 to 137MHz range and military are between 225 and 400 MHz. Does it cover these frequencies? Edit; aha! excellent find FT. I think you're best bet is to take it to the airport and have a run through there and see how you get on.
  10. I have no idea but whats the make and model?
  11. Personal skins go in; C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins Tanks are on multiplayer or you need to download some single missions for them. Check out post number 12 in this thread. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/19490-game-version-1105-discussion-bf-110-e-2-tanks-mouse-control/ A variety of useful training missions. Happy christmas Snacko
  12. Happy birthday and happy christmas Goth.
  13. It's not too late for one of those tests, FT Nice pallets. Where's the forklift?
  14. What are your realism settings Snacko? Sounds like you're in Normal Mode. In this mode the engine management is simplified and you won't get prop pitch control. To change this; go into Quick Mission and by the green start bar is another tab with realism. Click on that and select custom and you can choose what you want. Btw; leave "warmed up engine" on.
  15. This looks like one for Sid!
  16. An account of the action by Richard Todd, one of our great post-wars actors and all round decent bloke. http://www.britisharmedforces.org/pages/nat_richard_todd.htm In the film "The Longest Day" Todd played Major John Howard who commanded the glider assault and has to say a few lines to another actor who is playing Captain Richard Todd - adjutant of 7th. Para!! Not sure where Sid will fit in as the love interest in all this though?
  17. Yeah! Have a great day Bongo.
  18. Happy birthday Jim
  19. Pushing my system to it's limits in mien beloved Emil
  20. So whats it like Snacko? I'm still d/ling! Found this on the web too. Check out the frame rate - pretty good for a trip round Vegas.
  21. Who on earth is this guy and why is he being arrested?
  22. Always a surprise in store with DCS! However, I have to say 1.5 has been very stable and no longer makes my pc lock up completely like the previous versions sometimes did. I'm just guessing but surely the torrent try out is something to do with the imminent release of the Nevada map which is going to be a fairly large and popular download?
  23. Its an XBox One Slicker.
  24. OMG! I was twenty when this happened. In fact I've posted this before. This was the last landing he made in the FAA, even though I would have thought it a pretty good one. His remarks to the cameras scuppered his career - even though the british taxpayer had spent around £2 million on his training - he never flew again. Edit; Oh! I was wrong. He did go on to have a career in the FAA.
  25. Wifey and I are considering christmas presents for the kids. My eldest likes his F1 game on his XBox and I was wondering about getting him a steering wheel, pedals, etc. I have no idea about this sort of gear. Force feedback would be nice along with a gear stick option if possible. I've got a budget of around £100. Any recommendations?
