Who's up for this? Initial participation list is as follows;
Flying Aircraft List The American Air Show 28-29 May 2016 The flying display will commence at 1.30pm and finish at approximately 5.15pm. All flying is subject to weather, serviceability and operational commitments. The close relationship developed by America and Britain in the First World War is represented with a flying display by a Nieuport 17 and a pair of Royal Aircraft Factory SE5a biplanes. Before America and Britain became official allies in the Second World War, Britain bought American equipment to prepare for war. Glorious 1930s aircraft, including the Boeing Stearman, North American Harvard, Spartan Executive and Ryan STA demonstrate this period. IWM’s Supermarine Spitfire Mark I flies alongside a Spitfire IX and a Hurricane, representing the American pilots who volunteered to serve in the RAF prior to America entering the Second World War. America’s entry into the Second World War, post-Pearl Harbor, is symbolised by B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B flying in formation with P-51 Mustangs, the ‘little friends’ that accompanied these majestic bomber aircraft. The P-51 Mustangs will be intercepted by a Hispano Buchon representing the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The war against Japan in the Pacific was fought over long distances. Aircraft launched from carriers played a vital role alongside their land-based counterparts as the A6M Zero (replica), Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, Grumman Wildcat and Vought Corsair show in a stunning display which represents war in the Pacific.
