  1. To install HSFX 7 the easy way follow the steps below; 1. Make a copy of your current game folder (obviously you might need to install it first) and rename the copy to 'IL-2 (HSFX7)' (or whatever you like) 2. Download FT's utility dd_Chkmods.zip here. 3. Extract the zip file to a folder (in this case d:\users\nick\downloads\dd_checkmods) 4. Open the folder, find the chkmods.exe file then right-click on it and select 'Run as Administrator' (This is VERY important) 5. Assuming all goes well, you should wind up with a screen that looks a bit like this one; (If you get the following error; then send a PM to FT containing your IP address as he will need to register your access.) 6. Assuming no problem, you then need to ensure that the 'IL2 Modded is in' box points to your newly copied game folder and the 'Check Against' box reads 7.0.2 then click 1. - Verify Mods. Let that run (it may take a while) and once the first step is finished click 2. - Fix Issues. Let this run (will DEFINITELY take a while). Keep verifying and fixing until the verification doesn't find any problems. 7. Close CheckMods, check you can start the game and that version showing on the splash screen is V4.12.2 HSFX v7.0.2. Assuming it is, say some nice things about FT and you're done. 8. Remember 'Expert Mode' is enabled by default through JSGME so you'll be all set up to join an online co-op or dogfight map. Simples! 2. Real - allegedly shot during carrier trials for the 33. Whether an intentional late abort or not is another matter. Of course, he's not actually pulling a cobra manouver here, it is a high-alpha climbout though (albeit briefly). The power-to-weight ratio here is quite something! Jabo
  3. Must be banned in Sweden - probably because of cruelty to reindeers. Funny though.

    Phantom 'vandy 1'

    Pledge? Pourquoi?
  5. The article is a little misleading on that point Chet, while it's true that there were only 75 Mk1's built, the total production run across all Mks were nearly 800 (most numerous and considered the 'definitive' Sunderland was the MK III of which about 460 were built). There are a few complete examples about the place, with the one at RAFM Hendon and another at IWM Duxford the only ones I can recall at present. I like 'em.

  7. Lol Painless - Google is your friend.
  8. Don't rush Sid. Nice monitor though.

    New Build

There you go OT, I think Sid's just saved you some cash and the even better news is that if that card will run ROF maxed out, then it'll run the new IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad equally well (it's based on the ROF engine). Jabo

    New Build

Adrian! Good to hear from you again mate. We've recently helped a couple of chaps here spec new rigs, so I'm sure there might be some assistance forthcoming if you need it. If you can get on TS I'd be happy to work through it with you (should be on tonight). You probably won't need a soundcard these days as the majority of new boards have on-board sound which saves a slot and leaves more free space for air to circulate around the graphics card. Still down to personal choice though. Graphics cards are key (obviously), but the decision here is budget since even relatively modest cards these days will have sufficient oomph to run IL-2 maxed out. Jump on TS and we can have a chat. 11. Quite right Mr P. 9...no...18 pints of beer (although he left out the Bacardi and Coke). lol Jabo
  12. Do damaged ships stop dead or just slow down? Is there some sort of trigger that when could be used to turn a damaged ship off it's original course to reduce the risk of collision?
  13. Under the circumstances Chris, I think the best solution would be to consider the old proverb, "It is better to seek forgiveness than ask permission" then go and plug them in. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  14. That's got a distinctly 109-esque front end
  15. One day I hope to see this for myself. Until then, thanks for the photos SkyPup. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

  17. isn't it though
  18. Holy c**p, 9.5%!!! Wow, and it's got the wheat haze on it too - That's a hangover in a glass right there.
  19. Hmmm, interesting stuff here.
  20. Huzzah! extended access and weapons - Woo hoo!
  21. I think you'll like it BA - it's definitely more of a challenge than our regular game, but I'm liking it right now. Jabo
  22. Ah-ha! A beer thread - that's a new idea (and a good one!). Never heard of Big Eddie so I'll have to look that one up. Of the smaller breweries that I prefer, Shepherd Neame (Kent) for the rather fab Spitfire Ale (isn't it though) and Adnams (Norfolk) for the equally fab Broadside. Jabo
  23. Good point well made Mick. I shall take your words to heart. Jabo
  24. Arrrrr they be, they be.
