  1. I've seen guys on the Pacific full switch server do that with Dauntlesses: they drop their gear and pretend to be Vals. They also tend to use void skins to simulate the bare aluminium finish of Vals.
  2. Should the soap be on a rope? :? Alright, alright, enough! Chaplain, could you please reprimand these blokes and assign penance?
  3. Dave, apart from the second line fighter concept, I would not mind adding planes for each side as long as it "historically accurate" (I know that is a loaded term in many respects) and kept the balance. For instance, I think the P-40M is a neat little plane, and would have some value as a quick strike fighter, but I have no idea is there were anywhere near Normandy, or it was relegated to other theatres by then. Let me put together the updated manual with the planesets, and send you a copy, and see if there is anything that can be added. Here's a site I've found on the D-Day Allied air forces: US 9th TAF http://www3.sympatico.ca/angels_eight/9tac.html RAF 2nd TAF http://www3.sympatico.ca/angels_eight/2tac.html It's not an official site, but it looks well researched: official sites confirm most of these aircraft.
  4. Wow! I'll get into my Me-109 K-4 and be right over!!!
  5. And you can also sort in reverse order, Kelly: just turn your monitor upside down, and you get Z-A instead of A-Z.
  6. Nice job, M8! Came close a couple of times me-self, but no joy... Has the padre ever golfed in a thunderstorm?
  7. Got a track of it? If not, it never happened, M8!
  8. Way, way cool: you're actually dogfighting them! Expensive?
  9. What prog. are you using to skin with? I downloaded GIMP, but I haven't begun to learn it yet...I need more tutorials. I would like to be able to do skins myself...
  10. We could have someone download one of their Campaign Sets and try it out to see if we like it??? http://seow.sourceforge.net/CampaignSets.htm
  11. Thanks, M8. More good reading: always looking for more tips. Every now and then something really poignant comes up and helps me to improve quite a bit. Edit: yes, I used the word "poignant"; so what?!
  12. That was probably my fault. I've had an intermittent problem @ home using Feedreader; it calls up window after window of Internet Explorer trying to open the thread in a new window until I shut off the computer...I thinks it's a virus, but hopefully it's just a Feedreader glitch...it's only happened twice.
  13. Sorry that it didn't work out. We weren't wingmen, and I did forge ahead of you early on, but I just wanted to let you know there were fewer Blue around to help you. That's the great thing about online play: actual pilots communicating together!
  14. I've actually had Hypersnap for a very long time: it was one of the 1st programs to be able to take screenshots of Glide-based video rendered games. I have the registered version of it, but not on my main machine, just my laptop. It has Paint-like drawing and editting tools right on it, and can save and open most major image file types. The registered version doesn't put the "stamp" on it, but even the unregistered version stamp is quite unobtrusive.
  15. I save the files into Photobucket which can force 800x600 resolution; I use the bottom html script and paste it directly into the message. I then add th etext explanations.
  16. I'm 2nd generation Dutch: I do know what it means, and you probably said it at least in your head, too!
  17. Quazi about to be pounced on...really nice skin though! Rattler hits Quazi's P-38 on another mission. I thought it was fatal, so I left him. Little did I know it wasn't. He later went on to take out a He-111 Quazi nails a bunker but good! My bomb about to send some Jerries to Valhalla. Enforcer absolutely massacred P-51 #5: unfortunately, as he passed through the blast, he lost a wing... DT and Sged had quite a rolling scissors: amazing for Stephan in a 110! DT eventually succumbed to 4-5 Krauts. Painless after I snuck up behind him.
  18. Today is officially "I hate Kelly" day. All blues post suitable references to his manhood, flying ability, social ineptness, or anything else you can think of (within reason of course: we like the guy, remember?!)
  19. Well, you can achieve the same thing with the ship by really forcing down the rate of fire. The other problem is that you can't raise the AAA above sea level, so you can't place it on the deck. keeping the carriers and decks above sea level was a real problem for the blues wasn't it. still blew your a$$ away a couple of times, didn't we?!! West-coast hippie!

    New wingman

Is it pining for the fjords?
  21. Thanks, Carl. Now I need to work on the one from Sunday afternoon where we flew 109's and 190's escorting Heinkels vs Spits. I took out 3 of the bombers while the other Spits were dealing with the escorts, then I did exactly what BG's post says not to do: fly into their MG arcs...PK'ed
  22. I love these kind of campaigns. Like BG said, it would be good to change campaigns every once in awhile, but I like to see them fininsh too. I guess I like fighting to the end more than the variation. Flying a DCG with the HH's was one of the best times I had many months ago! My 2 cents...
  23. It all began one fine day with 2 Me-109 G-14's flown by Sunflower and yours truly, as we went out to intercept a flight of P-63's flown by the diabolical trio of BeeBop, Emann, and Enforcer. The reds opened up on some poor, unsuspecting German army troops, obviously transporting aid material to starving French people... Rattler gets in the saddle on Emann... Which has the usual results... Luckily Emann is able to get out safely... Arthur and I have an incredible head-on encounter... Little did I know that Arthur hit me and caused a fuel leak...I would later force land only to be strafed by the AI P-63 #8... A happy Carl... A happy Pete An unhappy Carl But at least he's safe too.. While being chased by Clarke, Arthur still take s the time to ground pound...ever the consumate professional. It's those little attention to details... But not all good things end happily... Do you think he can get out from this altitude? I guess not. Still, a great flight, red. Only Clarke survived in the cockpit, but it was a fun furball.
  24. I was one of those, and don't worry Dave: it happens. I managed to get a couple of F4's just before that anyway. A great time, Glenn, and thanks! Can't wait for the next big bash, but don't rush yourself. We need to pace our gifted m8's so that they don't burn out!

    Dammit!!!

Carl, you're 1st on the list.
