I'm considering shelling out for the last upgrade I can make to my rig: upgrading the RAM from 1 GB (2 X 512MB DDR) to 2 GB (2 X 1 GB) 1) is it worth it to upgrade to 2 Gigs for FB? 2) do 184 pin DDR2 Ram exist? or do I have to buy DDR? 3) Why is DDR more expensive than DDR2 for any given memory capacity? My system: XP2500+ on a A7N8X-deluxe ATI 850 pro 2 X 512 MB PC 3200

Thanks to you both. I haven't tweaked in ages and had actually forgotten that I was running in 640X480!! I switched it back to 1024X768- with no perceptible change in fps (probably because my machine has a decent graphics card but low end CPU). I haven't gotten around to doing the conf.ini changes but will give those a go to see if I can get it looking nicer. I am running ATI tray tools, but I usually shut down all of my tray items when I prepare for IL2... am I correct in thinking that ATT should be left on? or can I turn it off as well and save a few cycles? I appreciate you guys taking the time to look my system info over.

LOL... I saw that Mac ad, BG, they hit the nail on the head... I "upgraded" my Vaio TZ160 from Vista to XP... Sony had to make all the XP drivers available after its customers made a stink about Vista performance. Vista is just too much of a resource hog, especially for a laptop. Before I deleted all the Sony bloatware and tweaked Vista to "windows classic look" etc, it took 9 minutes to boot up!! I'm down to 55 seconds with a clean install of XP.
