I hope you dont mind me bringing this to the dogz attention but I hope that some of us can help out
I dont know how many of you use mission4today /airwarfare/mudmovers but to me it is the prime site for information/downloads etc for il2 . The guy who runs it has never asked for support before, but with il2 ending its life then advertising revenue is falling off and so in order to continue he needs support .
If you have used the site , including some of the guides
planes that have the worse drop are those with slow rate of fire- obvious examples are the 30mm german cannon but the early zeros are also bad- later marks have the same 20mm as the german planes.
easiest to hit with are .50s as they have high rate of fire
not sure about italian planes
500 is common with the 109 fliers I have talked to on warclouds- looks like it works for you mate
with my new rig Im back down to 150 as the draw rate etc is very good so I dont get that slight stutter as it goes from dot to lod to shape that I used to get -
Im also flying p-51s and p-47s more and think I was firing under my 200 m range as it ties in with darts tutorial here
http://www.simhq.com/_air10/air_312a.html
200 is probably good for spits and fws
275 has been quoted as good for 109s but I had 500 for a while
in truth I still cant hit shit so just keep playing and hope for a miracle
you have to edit the config file-
LCD native resolution not included as an option in FB/AEP/PF Enter your screen values here and Save and start your game.... (if you later open the IL-2 Setup and close it by clicking OK it will change the resolution to 640x480 16bit, unless you change it to something else via this IL-2 Setup.)
il2config - edit these lines
[window]
width=1280
height=1024
You will need the following values as well
change SaveAspect=0
ChangeScreenRes=1
EnableResize=0
having run these for a while I think they improve image quality on the nvidea, however some have had problems with them -
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=2472
just to give you an idea my specs are
response time - 8ms
contrast -1300
brightness 300
and I have no problems- with my 1850 ATI I had to run it at its native resolution of 1280*1024 but with my nvidea I can run 1024*786 no problems.
the great empress from over the sea says no to the Euro- dont even have the symbol on our fine uk keyboards - got a $ tho so I can work out how many $ I get to the £ - the way its going I will be able to afford as much land as BG and have change for a fish supper
see what happens when you leave the mother country and think you can do better ............. all goes to ratshit ....... youll be telling me your not using £ notes next
some of the best info available is from here

with info on panel types , response times etc- also here

say
that they really like my viewsonic 19"
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/lcddi ... es/vp930b/
I bought the higher spec model as it had a guarenteed no dead pixel and supposidly gave better IQ - only 12ms but never had any problems
Iv extracted the new dlls that are meant to improve nvidea cards but honestly cant see any difference - sound seems a bit better but that might be a placebo effect
no difference in frame rates in black death
A while ago I wrote a guide to try to help people understand about computer basics and how it effects il2. It can be found here
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ase&cat=35
Unfortunatly computers have moved on very rapidly so it needs updating - if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve this or wishes to correct/update/comment on any of the sections then please pm me or post here and Ill include it in an update - all contributers will of course be credited in the final document.
thanks

say that it looks like a neat wee bomber command console
they have done similar in the past and like a true scotsman Im waiting for them to drop to rediculously low prices on e-bay before investing
the 1950 pro regularly gets the best reviews in class- its the best value and what I should have put in my new rig - but I wanted to try the newer nvidea to check out the IQ - but I think youve made the right choice mate
yeah - inverterate tinkerer that I am - Iv tried
excellent and perfect
mucked around with aa and af
screen resolutions
drivers
everything looks ok on my standard tracks but in game I get a bit of shimmering , especially on water, so makes it hard to spot objects
might try perfect again with the ngo drivers
yes mate - I have tried running game on core 1 and core 2 but made no difference -have reset to just letting windows decide - see here for more detaails on how to set it up
