  1. LOL. Should be on TS for this Autorun was missing, not required really but added just the same.
  2. I have attached full directory output, using dir /s (suggest you do the same) so we can determine accurately what is missing. Just saw your latest, you are missing the [bOOT] folder, so I have attached it [BOOT].zip dir.txt
  3. OK download finished and extracted, this is what I have when I do a dir on the folder: E:\Downloads\xp_no_sp>dir Volume in drive E is Main Volume Serial Number is 146F-5487 Directory of E:\Downloads\xp_no_sp 27/01/2009
  4. If you are missing any of the boot stuff, from the root of the disk, I can upload that too. But not the whole disk
  5. I have put a zip file in the vault, 20Mb, of the two directories. This is from an SP3 disk though, but as far as I can tell they are not modified by service packs 9but i am willing to admit I may be wrong). Grab it from here
  6. I'm downloading my MSDN/Technet XP Pro iso, and will create a zipped file of those two directories. Can you confirm it is Pre SP1 you are working with? Also you folder should look like this:
  7. This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format: "Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment? " A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers. "Q. Where will the government get this money? " A. From taxpayers. "Q. So the government is giving me back my own money? " A. Only a smidgen. "Q. What is the purpose of this payment? " A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy. "Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China? " A. Shut up." Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely: If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If you spend it on gasoline, it will go to the Arabs. If you purchase a computer, it will go to India. If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala (unless you buy organic). If you buy a car, it will go to Japan. If you purchase useless crap, it will go to Taiwan. And none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America. You can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game, or spend it on prostitutes, beer (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only businesses still in the US.
  8. Usually the Blue Screen will tell you what the faulting module is. You can't do a screen print, but you can take a photo First things first. To keep the BSD on screen: Press the Windows + pause/break key to bring up system properties (or right click 'My Computer' > 'Properties'). Click the bottom settings button in the 'Startup and Recovery' section. Untick 'Automatically restart' in the system failure section, then click 'OK'. Now your system will show you the Blue Screen until you power cycle, giving you a chance to read it and find the faulting module (look for something ending in 'sys' or 'dll'. Re Dxdiag: You have two sound devices both using Full Hardware acceleration, one is a USB device. Test with the USB device unplugged. There is an update for your chipset drivers: Linked Here Download and install that, then test.

    Can't install game

Hopefully you did not install it in Program Files M8.. If you did I would move it, and update all short cuts, there are reports of Vista (and it's travesty the User Account Control) causing havok with IL2 and in particular the conf.ini. Turn off UAC if you want a quiet time too, I have seen others say this is not necessary but I have also read far more say that it is, plus I don't need Vista to ask me if it is OK to do something I know I want and should be able to do. Windows 7 has toned down UAC significantly, Microsoft themselves now recognise how intrusive UAC is.

    XP 64 Bit

45% physical memory used...4Gb RAM.. With a virtual 2003 server running in the background allocated 512Mb RAM

    XP 64 Bit

I'm playing with Server 2008 64Bit at the moment. Very snappy, can be 'tuned' to make it more like a work station OS, and as it is built on the Vista core all Vista 64 drivers etc work with it. Not tried IL2 on it...yet. But that would just be a case of double clicking the launcher once I have my controllers mapped. ATI driver loaded flawlessly, not installed sound yet. But I too am thinking of installing XP32 boot option for IL2 only, have 5Gb partition unused for the OS itself, so I can get my MSFFB2 programmable again.
  12. Go into add/remove programs. Click Add/Remove Windows Components. Scroll down and untick Outlook Express Click next etc. Say good bye to Outlook Express, job done..
  13. Depends how they shutdown, my guess is they said to update and changed their minds and power cycled the system, this would have left some files deleted pending replacement and screwed up the MFT = no boot. Was it PC World that put the new drive in for them? If you could boot off the old drive, I would check the event log (type eventvwr in the start box) and look under system tab for any disk errors/warnings.
  14. You need to take ownership of the my documents folder: Right click > Properties > security > click 'Advanced' > click 'Owner Tab' > in 'Change owner to:' field click your user name click the 'Replace owner on subcontainers and objects' box then click apply. This should then replace the security on the folder and sub folders
  15. I responded to your thread over @ UBI Carl. Photo bucket is fine for me.. I offered over there (and I can extend this to others too) to set up a photo gallery on our server here, for example it could be accessible as enforcer.k9squadrons.com (or whatever user name you choose) and if you want to pony up $10 or so you can register a domain name that I can point to the gallery. It would be a simple gallery, along the lines of the one over at http://www.mercurialme.com and is easy to manage and uplaod images, and will be significantly faster than PhotoBucket. Support might be reasonable too
  16. The title says it all, enjoy!
  17. Hmm. I gelled out and used your dll with XP64 Doh! Realised and grabbed the XP64 version to test.. Curiously this work around doesn't work with my card unfortunately, when I start IL2 the opening screen is blank but loading progress (in red) shows fine. Menu appears (still no background image) and system is clearly struggling as mouse is very slow to respond. Me thinks there is something about the 4870 architecture that does not play well with the 8.6 OGL, yet your 4850 is fine Back to the drawing board whilst I await the next Cats..
  18. I'll give it a shot M8 Thanks!
  19. +1 I have one of the Belkin Speedpad N50's and the scroll wheel is crap. I have the Logitech G15 Keyboard, original version, that has 18 programmable keys and 3 modes giving me potentially 54 keys I can assign macros to.. TS Display on it is neat, except I keep forgetting I have it and look to the TS Client on my 2nd monitor to see who is speaking doh!!
  20. What Firewall are you using on your PC? Perhaps it doesn't like the change in IL2FB.exe and is blocking it? Do you use a router? If so it would be quite safe to disable the Firewall on your PC to test..
  21. Hmm, I discovered today that the PMs were bust...fixed now.

No not I, why was it particularly bad?
  23. You assume right Kelly. They would not fit period, as the two types are keyed differently and the slots are different sizes.

What is really cool about this is hearing that students are being taught something useful in ICT, unlike here in the UK where they don't seem to progress much beyond 'this is a mouse, this is a spreadsheet' type stuff. I had to laugh when my youngest's report once said 'She is confident with using the mouse' - she was already modifying here desktop and creating/moving shortcuts and understood how to install software at home!

The one I posted gives you a choice of standard or high quality (if available) other than that you are stuck with the format YouTube creates.
