  1. Which guest updates have you applied Mike?
  2. Thought so Mike. Your install is busted. Jabo posted up a fixed version of the September mod update right here. I think best course of action is: 1. Backup user files/settings in IL2. 2. Remove IL2. 3. Install 1946 and patch to 4.08M 4. Apply 352nd Guest package. 5. Apply updated Sept package linked above 6. Apply December update. 7. Test and hopefully enjoy! Your switcher should look like this:
  3. I use dual monitors with my ATi no problem. Granted neither of my monitors are DVI connected, so I use the DVI > VGA adapter. The way it works is that you configure Display Manager to extend your desktop (not clone) to the other screen. IL2 will show on your main screen, and anything you have dragged to it will show on your second screen (including task bar ). I have not noticed any performance affect, and it is nice having a map, or TS or whatever showing on the secondary screen. So: a) Yes I believe so. None c) You can have maps/porn/TS Client/flight instruction manual showing on 2nd screen. Also for day to day stuff it can be very handy having a 2nd screen, when I work on PHP files or other coding I find it invaluable.
  4. Meet Tom... /B16Enk runs for cover
  5. So drivers changed, USB device unplugged and still getting BSOD? What are temps like, and voltages? Have you tried doing a chdsk of your system drive? (right click drive in Explorer > properties > tools > check for errors then tick all boxes, you will need to reboot then for it to check and it will take a while.
  6. .. part 11 I have 2 installs. One on C: drive that I abandoned because mod switcher did not seem right, and one on D: drive. My C: drive is missing the mod switcher folders..........under the Mods folder, but they are in the root of my IL2 folder
  7. OK it's time to grasp at straws now.. Open a command prompt (start > run > type in: cmd) Then cd to your IL2 folder, once there type this command: cd MODS\352nd_mod_switcher You should now find your self with a command prompt indicating you are in the 352nd_mod_switcher folder. Now type this command: dir /s > 352.txt Then: notepad 352.txt You should see something like this:

    XP 64 Bit

FWIW I see a lot of system specs for mail order kit including 64bit Vista, 4Gb is near the norm now and we know 32 bit doesn't live well with that...
  10. Quite correct Deputy. Main difference between XP32 and 64, and why you see a performance difference, is because they are two different OSs. XP 32 is well XP, whilst XP64 is actually a modified version of Server 2003!
  11. It is, and done! NavPlan 1.1 in the vault here
  12. Whahaay! Great stuff. nLite is good, one word of advice is to not go overboard on customizing it by removing too much. Neat things like having it put in your key is good, and setting up explorer views etc. are a boon too. Thanks for the S!
  13. Blatantly ignored here though, all of it you nazi scumbag trolls
  14. Done..I hope! Took a 6080 line script to do it All zipped up into 17Mb, 36Mb unpacked, 399 files in 113 folders! You should be able to extract the contents of the file to a temporary folder, then copy the I386 folder over your borked one. nLite should then be happy Enough Flannel...click here to get it M8
  15. Cue comment from JP
  16. S! and Congrats
  17. The Real Tek drivers I linked earlier are the right ones. And yes it is on-board sound. No need to uninstall, just run the setup and your drivers will be updated to Jan 2009. You appear to have 2 sound devices, as I said earlier, one of them is a USB device (USB headphones/mic perhaps): You need to unplug this and test with it unplugged.
  18. Just double click the drivers from Intel, no need to uninstall. USB device: I refer to your USB sound device. To boot from CD: Watch post (initial boot screen before windows starts to load) usually it is the 'del' key that needs to be pressed. Once in BIOS look for boot order settings (alternatively tell me what the BIOS is - AMI Phoenix etc.. and I will then advise or what make/model your mobo is). Memtest would be a good idea - but first confirm kmizer.sys from the blue screen...I think it is KmiXer.sys which is an audio system file, and points the finger at your sound hardware! Your Realtek drivers are really old, a quick scan found these: Hopefully you can get here! but I would be more confident when I know what Motherboard or system model you have!
  19. Hi Snacko. OK so far I have now got a duplicate of your i386 folder, next step is to create a difference package for you. I will (tomorrow now as it is 22:50 now) next create a script to delete your current files from my directory, then I can simply zip up what is left and upload it to the vault for you (thinking aloud here and working out how to do it LOL). Been a long haul getting to this stage, but worth it for the education!
  20. OK no worries, I'll carry on working on it.
  21. Yep that's the one! The DVD I386 folder is FUBAR, but if you have another Pro one then copy that over, and use that to make the nLite image. The boot folder it would use when creating a bootable image. If your other i386 folder is a pro folder, then zap the one in d:\winxppro2 and copy the other one in, nLite should then build. You have several folders missing including the system folder, plus the key windows set up files.
  22. Quick Q: Does your current XP system have an I386 folder on it, aside from the one you extracted? Often systems are built and the folder is copied across, so the install media is not required when adding components? There are key files missing from your disk dump, including WINNT.exe which is required for setup, you may be able to use your product key with mine as you key is an MSDN key...
  23. When I have finished sorting out the diffs I'll test with what you have
