Rattler
Here's some recent pics of my brother in Afghanistan...what a desolate place.... Derek's the one in the middle. [attachthumb=1] [attachthumb=2]
Streak
Good to know he's doing alright. I got scared for a second there. I saw that beer bellied guy sporting the shorts in the background & thought I might have done some sleep traveling.
Blairgowrie
Is he the one with the crew cut?
Cold_Gambler
Is it just me, or does that "port-a-potty" look a little exposed? Sandbags all around, with the throne way in the air
Rattler
The whole camp is over 1 km square....the Taliban "snipe" with recoiless rifles.....little worry about a 'regular' sniper. I'm also assuming that the shitter will be moved soon......
Enforcer57
I wish I knew why the F I can't see any of this stuff. I don't even see any thumbnails or anything. Truly bizarre. I assume they are equipped with standard M-16A2s? Does the Canadian army still use the Browning P-35 as its sidearm? I'm kinda behind the times I think. Rifle is a modified C7A1 (Canada built M16A2, with full auto; no three round burst crap - we know how to limit our fire!)

Rattler
I just got on Facebook, and he's on there regularly when he's in camp. I chat with him daily now, when our time zones are in synch. He's off on leave in a few days, going to Thailand.
Enforcer57
Cool. I used to own several weapons from both world wars, some very well used, and they still worked fine. I'd take on any modern handgun with my old P-35 Browning if I had to. I knew an FCPD sgt that carried a Belgian Browning made during the occupation wiht nazi proofs on it. Still worked great. It's absurd the US Army thinks they have to put a burst limiter on
Klinger
Looks like a crap place for a night out Pete. He's going to need that holiday. Apart from the obvious dangers, I'll bet its quite a thing to be out there, with your well trained, well equiped mates. Good on him and his buddies.
