UHU_Fritzl65 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 ~!S!~ Alle, OK here goes my tale of woe... I removed my ATi x800XT from ther flgith chair and installed the 8800 GT Alpha Dog. Started up my Bf110 player campaign and hoped to be impressed. Quote
Rattler Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I sent a message to Quazi in regards to this, mate. He should be able to respond to your problems. I sure can't!! Quote
GreyKnight Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Fritzl, If the official drivers are causing BSODs, then that's a big problem. Have you tried the NGO nVidia drivers? http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=nvidia2 If they work fine, then try the new game DLLs - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=2839 Quote
UHU_Fritzl65 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 ~!S!~ Alle, please tell me WTF these "NEW" DLLs are. Quote
GreyKnight Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I'm not 100% on them exactly, but the new DLLs are just an update of the current IL-2 DLLs that improve the graphic quality. They will be included in the last patch, v.4.09, but the 1C:Maddox team are making them available now for testing. As for using them with your system, I don't think it'll have much affect. As it sounds to me that what you are saying is that you've got hardware problems with the card's fan. Does your PC work fine and then BSOD after a while on it's own accord? Or does it only BSOD when attempting to run IL-2? Quote
1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted March 4, 2008 1. DDz Quorum Posted March 4, 2008 This an excellent guide on getting the best out of a Vista installation. Quote

BBloke Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I'm not clued up with Vista but you've moved from ATI to nVidia. Quote
UHU_Fritzl65 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 ~!S!~ Alle, obviously the Friar is fried. Serves me well that he references that Scripture. I do believe it is time for Penance in the Pew of Perpetual Pain. Quote
BBloke Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I have read that the best place to install games on Vista is anywhere other than Program Files. Quote

UHU_Fritzl65 Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 ~!S!~ Alle, S! Delta7, thank you much for the reading material and the spirit in which it was sent! this info I can digest and will test. Please answerr me this: What are these DLLs. Quote
delta7 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 the .dlls are optimised drivers for the game to run with graphics cards and dual processors I use them in 4.08 I think they improve some graphical aspects, the runways do not shimmer , the shore lines are better and I think the contrast overall is bette rso I can spot the dots easier. some card/processor/motherboards work better than others- its a case of trying them and see. before using them do the following rename the origonal files that are currently in your folder by putting in old e.g. il2_coreOLD.dll Quote
UHU_Fritzl65 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 ~!S!~ Alle, I am going to try to put some of this right. Quote
