    Steering wheel

Can any of you chaps recommend a decent steering wheel set up for a driving sim? i got Project cars for xmas, its awsome but hard to drive with a joystick, also rudder pedals for the flight sims will be next on the list of things to get. Any idea's would be most welcome.
  6. Finally got round to sorting this once and for all, thanks for the tip FT! PB & BB

  10. At last, got most of the parts for the new building project, just waiting for monitor keyboard mouse and windows 10. Blubear has got himself a job to do when he comes over for his sisters birthday because i have not a clue how to build or fire one up. Looking forward to trying CLOD and DCS and flying with you guys. ps big thank you Nick for your contribution and to all the ear bashing i've given you over the past months. also thanks to my lovely wife Mrs Bear for allowing me to spend the hard earned cash on this project instead of something more important like tax and insurance for the van
  11. brilliant, that ain't just low is it!!! Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
  12. By the way i have written to the phone company and explained to them that there is a war on and to pull their bloody fingers out !!! and get some FO down here ASAP.
  13. Thank you Nick, that seems to be about the same as i came up with after many hours of searching, don't think it will get much better than that. The PSU looks good,i think its time to part with some cash and get it built, the GPU will probably be the last item on the list. The cooling link looks good, that's the next thing i need to learn about so i will be bending your ears later on as i get on with the build. Its been a great learning curve so far finding out what does what and goes with what ,it will be good to learn how a PC works eventually.
  14. Thanks Nick that's worth looking into, i think it was Scan where i paired up MB with CPU. Might go down that route BB's just sorting me out some prices so we can see how it compares.
  15. Not that great still, the phone company still have not installed broadband in our exchange yet so we have to use dongle and that only gives us 1.8 download and 1.2 upload on a good day. we are hoping they will get it sorted this year or I'm going to stick me a big aerial up in the garden lol. 16. thanks Nick i will start collecting some of the components now. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
  17. Just had a quick look at other CPU's and for the higher ghz speed seems to be a lot more dosh ?
  18. I am glad Nick answered that when it comes to all that technical stuff i am stumped, got all that to learn now. Perfect Nick thank you very much If this would benefit the build would i be better off with different CPU at this point in time ? and yes by the time i am ready to purchase the graphics card will probably be the arse end of summer so hopefully they will be a bit cheaper. Thanks for all the input gentlemen i am most grateful as this is all very different to building r/c aircraft, its a big learning curve and i hope to understand the goings on inside the pc eventually.
  19. Yes will do, i was looking at one of those what size psu guides and entered my spec, 600 or more was the answer so i will look for a good quality 650 then. When i was looking for MB to match CPU a few of the pc online stores where doing bundles and these two were always together so i went for that MB,probably go for the EGVA card as quite a few lads here say the same as yourself.
  20. Good morning chaps,i have been looking up parts for the new rig and after giving BB a good ear bashing come up with this list of goodies,i've had a look at minimum spec for oculus rift so i am hoping this will be well able for VR gaming at a future date and be reasonably future proof, price wise the parts are not too silly apart from the graphics card but i have most of the year to save up for that! or if this year is too windy again the sale of a certain tiger moth will fund it lol. So would you be so kind as to have a browse at the list below and give me your views please, thank you very much and look forward to your replies. CPU ... intel core i5 6600 1151 retail MB ..... gigabyte Z170-HD3P RAM .. corsair 16gb DDR4 2133 D/K VEN LPX 2 X 8 gb HD .... seagate 2Tb barracuda 7200, 12 serial 3.5" SSD ... samsung 250 gb 850 EVO M.2 SATA ASUS . gaming NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX980TI 6 gb or EGVA equivelent. ? PSU ...750/800W
  21. Hi chaps, thanks for all your input and thanks Nick for the offer of DVD RW most kind. I was talking to Chris last night and he said to look for a suitable mother board for the above CPU and some people on the reviews were saying gigabyte 1151 Z170 and using 16Gb of ram, i looked up these two and they are very similar in price in fact only a few cents difference. Gigabyte 1151Z170-D3H model no GA-Z170-D3H.. and Gigabyte 1151Z170-HD3P model no GA-Z170HD3P they not the cheapest but not the dearest, would one of these be any good for me ? if so which one.thanks !! The new hobby is under way at last.
  22. Always nice to see her working away in the office
  23. Be careful FT you will have the health and safety brigade on to us modellers, then we will have to go on a course to use modelling knives lol. Great fork lift and pallets !! Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
