Well, none of my m8s told me not to wear them.....it was only in the evening when someone from 69GIAP pointed and laughed at my legs that I decided to throw my dinner over them (cut-offs, not 69GIAP) so that I had to change them....

Not long from getting back in from my other major event of the weekend, a family gathering to say 'Hi' to my little!! bro who is back on Army leave for a week or so - he says 'Hi' to those Dogz that met him and the twins at Duxford last year and I am STILL trying to convince him to take up IL2 rather than wait for BoB to come out - WIP. Couldn't wait to get here to see what has been put up and I have laughed out loud (not as much as I did last night when discussing the intricasies of that famed sci-fi series 'Red Dwarf') at the posts up as they are so true to the nature of the weekend. There will be much more, I am sure..... Great piccies, keep 'em coming.... OT, that is a brilliant summary, I am currently lost for words but grateful for the appropriate way in which you dealt with my messing malfunction.... Vila, the reason my first wife and I didn't see eye to eye was probably due to the fact that she was 12 inches shorter than me...... Fantastic weekend. Thanks for the company, mates, looking forward to next year already and the progression of this thread.

Trying not to fiddle around with the settings now as after a day or two I have settled for split frame rendering as it appears with no choppyness - on the BD ntrak I can see the smoothness about 12 seconds in when view pans around the single La and the others in the flight come into view. This scene appears to be quite jerky with some settings, but not with these. No longer using 'nhancer' and am sticking with nvidia control panel as I have no glitches and framerates averaging up into the 80s on 'The Black Death'. I've also found that it is easy to watch and be picky with the sound turned low or off, less of a distraction. Time to leave alone.... anisotropic -8x antialaising gamma- on antalaising mode-overide game settings antialaising setting - 4x antialaising transparency- supersampling conformant texture clamp- Use OpenGL specification error reporting =off force mipmaps-off maximum pre-rendered frames-3 multi display performance mode- single display sli performance- force split frame rendering texture filtering anisotropic sample-off texture filtering - high quality texture filtering-trilinear-off threaded optimization-off triple buffering-on verticle sync- application settings set your monitor screen refresh rate as high as you can for smoother play. ie 60 hz Bold are changes done 17 Aug 09

Pershing/Super Pershing/Centurion vs Stalin Tank et al

Interesting stuff, thanks guys. I enjoy looking around the armour museums - we have a few eg. Bovington in Dorset that are full of examples from all over. -

Forget trying to be technical, look at the sheet in my previous post

Rather than try to look at clocks and add/subtract whatever, I present the Dogz (Determine Our Game Zone) Time Zone reference sheet. As I said last night, the Sid Vicious is a mispell as it should be Sid Viscous 'cos I'm a little bit fick and need to see fings in front of me. This sheet does that with the time zones that GENERALLY the Dogz fall into, my apologies if it doesn't catch all. It covers Zones from GMT - 9 through to GMT + 5. It has Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time for each hour through the day, plus some either side. The idea is that you choose a time zone, move across horizontally to the one you want and read off the corresponding time in that zone. If, for example, DT is trying to work out a time to start a campaign DOGZ time.doc

I have looked here and on UBI and get the impression that an Nvidia SLI configuration is not an advantage unless running high resolutions when, SLI can help by allowing the use of higher values of antialiasing and anisotropic filtering. I have a single Nvidia 8800GTX supplying a 22" monitor running at 1650x1080 and have antialiasing at 8x with the aniso at 'application setting' ie. set by IL2. Don't have ANY issues and am happy with framerates as they don't go below 30 on the 'Black Death' and average about 85. My question is, does anyone use SLI or Crossfire and if so, does it help with the visuals? My reason for asking is that, with the computer at 18 months old, I have purchased a backup refurbished 8800GTX. Is it worth slotting it in? Cheerzen

Zooly, a big part of a profile with any stick comes before doing anything with the stick software and that is deciding what you want the stick/hotas to do and assign the keys in the game to the actions your buttons etc are going to perform. Once this has been done the software can be used to make your profile. This is a very personalised process and, even when set up, will more than likely be changed at a whim every so often. However, attached are my IL2 personal settings and my X52pro profile that you may wish to use as a basis. Happy assigning settings.ini

Cheers Ash, thanks for putting them up...I love the sound and the visuals that these aircraft provide
