I gave up trying to get one on ebay a while back because that is what kept happening to me - very frustrating, particularly on the fourth attempt. I put a comment on the Zoo relating to this and a number of replies came back saying that people collect them for two reasons, for spares and for selling on. Not bothered now as I won't have a use for it.

I am someone who tries really hard to stay in that camp but sometimes the urge to 'just see' becomes too strong, particularly with 'il2'. Unless there is a compulsive reason for doing changes however, I now stay away from stuff like nHancer etc. as there is very little gain with a good graphics card, a good processor and plenty, ie 2 gig, of RAM. I have tried many settings with different cards over the years but still tend to come back to the same ones because instinct and my eyes tell me it looks good and runs fine. The monitor drivers are a good move though as, with them, the equipment is using the software it is meant to have as opposed to the generic Windows stuff.

Something to bear in mind is that if you have 'vertical sync' on the fps are limited to the refresh rate of the monitor. Probably in your setup, as in mine, it is set to 60 hz. If it whizzes along and is smooth aswell as looking good then there is no need to benchmark the fps to see how high it goes on the 'Black Death' ntrak - usually for the curious only

What settings have you got currently Arthur? Looking for the [OpenGL] settinggs at the bottom of the conf. file, the 'il2 setup' and the nvidia control settings panel.

Scale aluminium P51. What fantastic craftsmanship and patience.

I really like Win 7 and have had very few issues, usually minor things that have been relatively easy to sort. The most niggly aspect has been the correct installation of programmes and drivers, especially the Creative Audio Extreme soundcard drivers. I have recently found the way that solves most of the installation problems: 1. Download the drivers/programme 2. Create a shortcut for the .exe on the desktop 3. Turn off the Windows User Account utility 4. Turn off antivirus 5. Right click on the shortcut and select compatibility. Set to 'Administrator'. 6. Double click and away it goes....

I have put a zip containing 2 ntraks, one internal aspect the other external, here in the vault. Good fun and interesting to pick out the manouveres I didn't realise I'd done! Cheerzen
