  1. I keep getting the odd feeling that I would be right at home in England.
  2. Cool. that would be nice in the case of a bunch of the stuff on there. I'm gonna be gone 'till tues a week from now, as I'm going to Fla again to sell stuff for a vendor at teh Ga-fla game.....I couldn't care less about fooball, but I do like making about 150 a day
  3. I couldnlt record anything off there, but at the end of the movie it gives a link to Amazon if you wanna buy it.....which I did. I think it was about 12 or 14 bucks. I thouight it was well worth it. I figured it was playing at the USAF museum imax. Last time I was there around 90 they were just constructing the imax theater. I wish I could go back sometime. I wonder why th3ey do the US only thing, I mean it's not like you're having to pay for it. They got commercials, so that is a bit odd. I'm gonna order a copy of "the Hunters" from amazon as well, about 12 bucks. Havent seen that in about 20 yrs. I think it has some stuff about making the movie to...I think.
  4. Ok, I hvent seen Blue max in nearly 30 yrs....it's not a "quality" movie like a michal moore production ( ), so the networks, ALL of em, won't show it for some reason.
  5. But it will all be ok when our next Pres guts the military, surrenders, and gives me a bunch of money.....part of which I contributed myself....wait, I'm confused..... You know a govt organization is pretty screwed up when it has a name like Fannie mae or Freddie Mac. I wonder who came up with that. There are some folks who should be dragged from their 30 million buck homes......regardless of which of the 7 or so they are living in.
  6. Well I found this on AAA, which lists all they know of and the status, with links to their threads. There seems to be a different 61 from teh one that was gonna be included in IL2 before Northrop Grumman sued everyone for ownership of history etc. This was being resurected buut I can find no mention. The one listed in this link looks pretty good though. The sea Fury is coming along nicely with more modifications and realism. And so is the new version of the P-80 with tip tankjs and speed brakes thankfully. http://allaircraftarcade.com/forum/view ... 123#103123
  7. When does she start? And she of course will need to visit the US, preferably the southern US, where she will no doubt need a photographer. I know, you can refer her to myspace sight I use. If you can't sponsor her, I'm sure the rest of us in North America can find a way. Woo hoo.
  8. My sentiments exactly. I nearly fell outta my chair when I saw this.
  9. I have trouble finding anything on the AAA site, but I know the Sea Fury was done and ready to go, and the P-61 AI version was on the verge of being done as well a few weeks ago. Anybody heard anything of them? I haven't had the time to keep up with it like I used to. Both of these would be useful in the final version of my 47 cmpn project I intend to do after I finally release the beta version.
  10. Oh cool. I love those stories, used to meet quite a few of them back in the 80s and 90s when I'd go all over the place to airshows. By the time I can do that again they won't be here I guess. I guess I need to keep up with Canadian politics again, as I kinda lost interest when that Trudeau fella (spelling?) had me wondering what was in the drinking water. I nearly gave up hope for you guys when they did away with the individual services and did that combined "armed forces" deal, which was not highly thought of by an F-101B crew I met in the early 80s.
  11. Ditto what these guys say. Thanx to him and the Canadian Armed Forces.
  12. Yes, it never occurred to me that the anti-christ would be a guy that never finishes what he starts.
  13. The military has a plastic version for chick troops. Carla told me it kept her from having to stoop within range of these huge transparent lizards that ran around in the Saudi desert in 90 and 91. There are some really scary clips on there, like Thai women leading the world in "penis slashings". sheesh. I know where I won't ever go on vacation.
  14. ok, it seems to have gotten alot better now. I have no idea why it went nuts and did this for the next several times I started it. Just thought I better warn anyone what to expect if anybody uses it here.
  15. I've had PC doctor on here for over a yr, and it has performed well on the rare occasion I need it, finds trojans and spyware pretty nicely etc. However, I got the latest update as I have before, and man this thing has caused all sorts of malfunctions. Took my computer 30 min to even start to shut down after an hr of hr glass syndronme, not letting firefox get on the net, etc. I finally shut the thing down completely and my stuff would work again, though it took a bit to get babck on the net. Sheeesh. I have odd stuff that happens to my computer sometimes, so I may be unique regarding htis. Just though I'd say something about it.
  16. Ouch.....that looks like a literal pain. Glad you survived.
  17. So what'dya think of the Malta paint job on my Spit. I love Hasegawa kits. Haven't built one in yrs though. I sold most of my plethora of kits at a local trade store, but still have a few. I always enjoyed that when I was alot younger, but these blasted fligt sims have replaced them for me I think. The cockpit detail is impressive. Reminds me of my Monogram
  18. Tee hee. Yeah, I keep looking for a quiet kid with an aluminum boomerang to ride around on the back of my TGB. A combo of the economic results of socialist crap that started under the previous pres (encouraging the lending of huge amounts of money to people and institutions who were unlikely to pay it back) and was allowed to continue under the current one, along with this blasted hurricane, are causing alot of snowballing of the economic crisis in this part of the country. At least the state govenor convinced the pres to release some oil reserves for refining, but that took a bit too long. The oil companies have managed to get alot of gas transferred by truck from other states, but it's kinda pricey as a result. Nevertheless, I got a bit more reserve as my mother is a real scavenger about finding stuff....of course she IS an 80 yr old aviator and motorcycle enthusiast. And I found ONE store with gas and only a short line at the pumps as they just got it-i have an advantage manuvering into position. Supposedly this has eased somewhat, but I still only saw that one store. Now I'm down to THREE nights a week working thanks to a lower level manager who is really messsing up the place, but I have secured a couple of new photo assignments and have several prospects that have strangely appeared outta nowhere. I gotta get my photography bsness promoted a bit better methinks. Time for some innovation it seems.
  19. Nice models guys. I still have a bunch of the ones I built yrs ago, but haven't been able to due to my hands not being nearly as steady. Still have a few i did when I was 16. I assume that is 1/32 scale. Tamiya and Hasegawa were my fav companies, but Tamiya just got priced out of my range yrs ago. I can imagine what those things cost now. I always used flat paints a couple of yrs ago, brushed as I always thought air brushing was a bit off scale in appearance with the overspray.....using the equipment around in the 70s and early 80s. I still have a few kits and some custom decal sets around here someplace. The last ones I bought were some former FROG kits cast in Russia in 1/72, including a Vultee Vengance and a P-51A. I sold most of the kits I had last yr, but still have some others. EDIT I tried to find some pix of them, but the only one I found was this shot I took last yr of my 25 yr old Hasegawa 1/32 Spit mkV. Ignore the chick. The paint was a water based flat that has held up well. Just remember that you gotta minimize handling the flat finishes, as finger grease will mess them up.
  20. Well, almost. Here in Ga. and a few of the SE states in the US, that damn hurricane that clobbered Texas has resulted in there being practically no gas available in any town bigger than a postage stamp. Every place that sells gas has bags over the pumps almost continuously, and you have to play this idiotic shell game of hoping to catch them right after a truck delivers a small amount, wait in line for about an hr (several hrs in Atlanta) and hope that it doesn't run out before it's your turn. Fortunately I ride a 150 cc scooter, and have a few gallons reserve I'm riding on, but it won't last more than about 8 days. I rode around a bit today with a container attached to my bike, but found nothing. At least traffic is alot less. I'm down to 4 days a week at the resturant I work at, as bsness is off over 60%. The economy is going all to hell around here as well. However, two states North and gas is plentiful and alot cheaper. Hmmmm. This is really beginning to remind me of the second Mad Max movie. this is all supposedly due to some of the oil platforms off the coast being clobbered by the hurricane. Nobody knew that we were getting our blasted gas as soon as it was refined and that there was NO reserve or storage for such in the SE. Talk about militarily and economically absurd. They claim it's due to a lack of fuel storage in the SE. One of the two fuel storage facilities in this state is in my county about 5 miles from here, but it's all going to Atlanta. It's interesting that NONE of our state OR Congressional representatives is asking questions about this dangerous and masochistic state of affairs. Apparently nobody remembers the Yom Kippur war of 73 and the similar misery nationwide. I thought we got most of our fuel from the mideast, but not the SE US. There appears to be no action whatsoever to deal with this on the part of the US govt or the oil companies. This is right outta the X-files. My own theory is that this is being exploited to kill off the last opposition to more drilling off shore, but it was already shouted down as it was.

I still have yet to get it to work in any view. Guess I need to trouble shoot it myself some.
  22. Yeah, I wish I had thought of that....I got all sorts of stuff I coulda posted to emphasize my point that I made myself.
  23. I'd do alot of testing with the vet setting, as I've found vet to be lethal at even low ROF. You may be able to mess with that some, even changing the class of ship possibly, as that affects effectiveness a great deal depending on the AA suite of the ship. Ie: the Saratoga is a later war incarnation with far greater AA effectiveness than her sister ship Lexington. Also an example would be the quad 1.1 in mounts on the earlier war US ships compared to the quad, double, or even single 40mm mounts on later classes. The 40s are always considerably more effective, though my testing on such is limited. 40s just rip up everything, as they did in reality. The level of AA will definitely change attack plans, as it did with us in the Italy cmpn. But that goes both ways, since our discovery of the proper tactics led to the Allied fleet running away (which was pretty smart actually). I hope somebody is able to add some more new designs of ships at some point rather than just modifications of existing ones. speaking of such, I remember some Japanese guys had made incredible looking IJN ships using the same kind of compatible tools that made the sim, but of course couldn't import them into the sim.....at least that's what I THINK I remember. I wonder what they are doing with this mod stuff, as much of their work is kind of isolated from the rest it seems. I haven't been able to find much on it, but haven't had time to properly search such out either. This sim needs some more naval assets really badly. I'll go back under my rock now before somebody yells at me.
