  1. It looks like you did the right steps Did you test it after each step , I usually do to make sure it works before adding the next patch I got a new splash screen with 4.09 in bottom left corner you need the rts.dll to run the game without disc -

    nostalgia?

aint what it used to be !
  5. Yellow10 was recovered to the USA after the war and underwent some trials before being sold. It lay deralict in Atlanta for many years before being discovered by Jerry Crandall who followed its subsequent trail and restoration in Germany. He has written a short book on this which I have. It now resides at the Champlin Museum in Phoenix. It is not rated for flying and as its the only example left of a D-13, it would be too risky to fly it anyway. Great video of the BF 109 S
  6. Some suggestions 1) turn back all overclocking to stock 2) check memery with memcheck
  7. Might like to see this guys Halifax Aircraft
  8. The Fw-190 is an AWESOME aircraft for early to mid war - later it starts to get a bit too heavy and acceleration suffers and its contemporaries start getting faster. Out of all the aircraft in the game the 190A4 is my favourite aircraft - it's the ultimate hunter's fighter in having the firepower to devestate anything it can catch unaware. Salute, Bard! Good to see ya trolling around here! I agree with you completely - the early FW's, (A3-A6) really rule in their element from '42-'43. S Bard My favourite is the A9 in late war and A6 as an all round plane, it turns better but you shouldnt be turning in a FW anyway
  9. Last year I posted about the memorial in my home town to the pilots killed during training at the wartime flight school. The BOB flight was to fly over to commemorate the opening but bad weather prevented this. Today they made it - Lanc spit and hurri in perfect formation circled about 3 times, about 100ft off the ground , before heading up to Leuchers airshow. I have a very poor film that is linked below The opening shots show the old hangers and the industrial complex where I work.
  10. Sorry to hear your sad news. My thoughts are with you at this time . S
  11. yeah sged Iv read about the expansion here
  12. no wonder Yassorian was shitey scared in catch 22 , crawling through a tunnel under the pilot to a glass dome and sitting there over the target as the flak came up
  13. coming on nice mate the harrier Im doing is a real bitch - every seam has to be filled and sanded and there is fit issues as well
  14. reportage from afganistan http://www.michaelyon-online.com/precision-voting.htm some excellent stories and pictures
  15. Yeah mate, I PMd him last night but thankfully Iv solved it myself. When I did the install for mods I copied over a load of files like skins, missions
  16. I have been unable to play online so returned to this campaign I played a mission , number 7 , covering artillery at the drypoint area, got 3 kills and got mission completed, map generated to show my kills but when I hit apply I got an error message - mission loading failed : No Map in mission file Is there any way to get this back.
  17. there are 2 ways to save tracks, offline if you complete a mission there is an option to save track
  18. As the older hands will tell you my shooting sucks. I have worked on this for a while. there is info posted in the vault - the RAF gunnery guide http://www.dangerdogz.com/K9Vault/p13_sectionid/5/p13_fileid/241 here are some other training missions I use http://www.dangerdogz.com/K9Vault/p13_sectionid/5/p13_fileid/212 there is also darts video and over at simhq aircraft library there are articles by andy bush What professer asays about ping is key - a low ping will improve you a lot , but learn to lead that extra 1/2 ring online Here is what helps me 1) Get close - 300m max , 200m optimum 2) set your convergence low - 200m 3) If the plane in front is turning, dont pull on the stick to follow, you will always fire behind it. Reposition your plane to get a lower angle off then fire. 4) have patience. the guy has made a mistaske allowing you to get in a firing position, dont blow your position trying desperatly for a shot. Fly smart and keep you r E up and the gun position will come again. Fly stupid and you will , stall/ overshoot/ bleed E and suddenly you are on the defensive and even madder with yourself 5) record tracks and view from externals and from the enemy plane and see how far your bullets miss. 6) good suggestion about using the P-51 gyro gunsight , this really shows you how much lead you need. But remember this is for .50 cals. For 20mm you will need to lead more and for 30mm more still. hope this helps S
  19. It was my feeble attempt at a joke David. No Problems Jim S
  20. well done rattler jnr. I used to make 1/72 tanks to go with my airfix soldiers. My favourite was the tiger tank
