    Hey Guys

    Welcome back Dino!
  4. (I'm not giving mod advice, I'm just protecting a perfectly fine vanilla 4.10.1m installation )
  5. You're completely right there Trib, except... well... I was afraid 'Bail Bail Bail' wouldn't work, as it would probably cause his Ms-Outlook to open ... Look silly? No way. Not as long as TS hasn't got the webcam integration and we're all using that... And if so, then... nothing special would have to happen... we'd all look as silly as we are all of the time...
  6. Whatever you do regarding UP, do not do it on/with that 4.10.1m installation of yours! To get UltraPack 2.01 running, you will need to start with a fresh 4.09m installation. 1.First you create a backup copy of 4.10.1m. Copy the whole folder to a different folder. Name that new folder 'Backup1946-4.10.1m'. 2. Next you need to install 1946 and patch it up to 4.09m, in a seperate folder. Name the folder '1946UP2.01' or similar, so it's easy to recognize. Installing it from DVD might result into you loosing 4.10.1m, as it will probably want to un-install it. That's why you've created that backup of 4.10.1m folder! (You could try and prevent that un-install from being really succesfull, by renaming the original 'IL-2 Sturmovik 1946' folder to something else, like '1946 4.10.1m', before you run the install from DVD) 3. After 1946 has installed from DVD, copy the file conf.ini and the folder 'users' from the backup copy folder ('Backup1946-4.10.1m) to the new installation. (in folder '1946UP2.01') See if it will start. If it does, patch it up to 4.08m and 4.09m. 4. Create a backup copy of that 4.09m installation, before you take the next step. 5. Then do as Toad suggests in this topic (Unzip that UpUpdater stuff to the 1946UP2.01 folder, run it from there.) 6. After that has completed, you will need to create some new shortcuts to start the game... (Right click the file IL2fb.exe in each game-folder, choose Send To, Desktop (create shortcut). Rename each shortcut (select icon, press F2) to the version it's pointing to... Also create a shortcut to 1946UP2.01\jsgme.exe. Thats basically the "easiest" way to do it, though you can speed the process up considerably by skipping the 'create backup' items, but I would advise against doing so. But, wait for others' suggestions, I just woke up....
  7. I'd think it'd be cool for us to shout 'Eject Eject Eject' over teamspeak, your speakers will make you voice recognition pick up the command and next ...
  8. Initially, I read this as 'lead' [led], as in the soft heavy metal... now that'd be cool... "For the aircraft in the gunsight to be destroyed, you will need to put 76lbs of lead into the right or left wingroot ..."
  9. I sure do hope you're remembering this incorrectly... an Nvidia 6200 has never cost over EUR 40.00, maybe 50.00, max! It's truly a low-budget card, has always been, and still is...

    Forum Woes

Does not ring a bell here... (It's rather the opposite, I find when something goes wrong while typing up a post, -wheather it's in here or on a different form- Opera has saved me several times, by using the back button, not only saving the trace of visited pages, but also saving texts entered as well) Here's a tip when typing long posts, and before you attempt to 'post' it, try pressing ctrl-a, ctrl-c. At least the text you typed will still be on the clipboard if something gets messed up....
  11. Me thinks it'll be rather frustrating in the beginning in the end ... My guess is the main plus of Clod over IL2 will be the in cockpit lighting... One will get used to that quite fast. And one will really miss that when falling back to the old IL2, once one wants to fly 'other aircraft' than the ones in Clod. You will think 'yuck... ugly dark flat stinkin' cockpit in here... yuck' .... I can't imagine flying Clod only, and missing out on the good old IL2 Sturmovik. For me personally, there's a small comforting item in Clod: there's a flyable 110 We should get as many smart mission builders together as fast as possible, and have them create a whole bunch of exiting missions, dogfight and coop.... mind you, surely not limited to the happenings in the Bob alone.... A set of training missions, preparing the dogz as a squad, to make it ready for operations.... that'd be cool... that in addition to Crash's great idea...
  12. Smash, happy birthday!
  13. Has JSGME been updated to work with 4.10.1 or have you guys just figured out something? UP 2.01 has been updated, if you run upupdater, it should add a 4.10.1m, which you can activate all by itself, similar to 4.09m and 4.10m, so you when you fire it up, you will be running stock 4.10.1m. See below...
  14. Hey, now that's weird.. in Holland, when defective harddisks need recovery, they are being sent to some company in the UK  Sorry to hear about all that data getting lost Arthur... Here's a tip: Save the broken disk, keep it. You can always tell everyone you did not lose the data, that it's still on the disk. The fact you can't access it, is just a minor detail ...
  15. Sleep tight, things will probably look better in the morning...
  16. Did you change any 'things' in the system recently? New video driver maybe? System restore can be turned off completely, in that case I'm thinkin' it won't be creating any restore points at all... (Could running diskcleanup affect this? I should know, but I don't. I've got it switched off) What does the error tell you? There should be some codes in there, that might tell us about what's causing it. (Right click 'My Computer', select 'Manage'. Then select 'Event Viewer', system log. Look for errors in there, 'save dump', open that one, click the 'copy' button on the top right hand side. Then paste in a reply here...) Check the inside of the case for dust, see whether the video card's fan is still spinning...
  17. Me thinks you will be needing a .jpg of the map used, and place it in a folder 'Maps' (I had to create that one in MLR, then have MLR point to it.) ..... but I'm all new to it too, just downloaded it and tried it to see if I could be of help... I used this thread: Thread at 1C The 2nd download link in there does contain a few maps, but not all, only a few. Ran a test on Kalkin Gol mission/map, it does show some waypoints ... map icons, no further actions icons as I just let the coop run with AI only flying...
  18. Hm, the thing was posted Dogzilla ... Who's thát? Or, the site knows where the link was originated from, then builds the page? Nope, when trying from a different computer, copied link directly into browser, same thing...
  19. Congratulations Bojan!
  20. I may have been wrong here and there. I've just looked at a relatively new Sitecom Wlan router, and it doés have the functionality to use a UTP port for the WAN connection. Although this specific one did not have an ADSL connection, yours might just have the functionality as well. What brand/make/model is it?
  21. If you connect the UTP of the modem to the UTP of the Router, as well as the PC, chances are the Router will not be a router, but a repeater/switch. It's routing capabilities are usually setup between WAN and LAN. So between the ADSL connection, and the UTP connection(s). UTP to UTP is only using the LAN side, so no routing, no bridging, no firewalling... If you really have a top of the line Router, there might be a possibility it can use a UTP port as being the WAN, thus creating a firewalling, but that's mainly me thinkin' creatively, freely, than based on knowledge... (I mean, it would be cool if it could do that wouldn't it? Hm, sounds like one would then get into the expensive professional line of managed switches and stuff...) Basically, the answer is 'No', I think it won't work that way, no firewall in that setup.
  22. From the link you posted: "Featuring Advanced Game Detect™, Killer™ 2100 automatically classifies and accelerates traffic to your game ahead of other network traffic for maximum Performance, Intelligence and Control and a competitive edge." Well, if you have a very very fast Internet connection, ánd there's a whole lot of traffic on your local network, ánd your system has other networking tasks at hand while you are gaming, yes then adding this card may benefit the systems performance when on-line. (From some review: "my ping in wow went from 200ms using on-board realtek nic to 35ms" This is just silly! In this case, he/she must've had the on-board nic setup in a completely messed up way... ) Maybe Jabo can add something sensible to these types of cards... I'd rather spend the money on improving other computerparts or peripherals, or on beer.
  23. Install 4.10m over 4.09m, and after that was successful (fire up the game, check version) then patch up with 4.10.1m
