Could you tell us a bit more Brando? In what way is it better? I'm using a 3 Pro, and perfectly happy with it. (Only need to center once when starting the game) (Oh wait, I think I get it, I'm only using the 2DOF.... not the 6DOF that it's capable of, as I have the Vector expansion) (Sorry for the hijack!)

Do you know how to recognize them bad caps? I mean, have you seen 'm before? Sometimes damage to those is not that clearly visible... can you take pictures from close up to them?

+1 And when in doubt, take some pictures of the capacitors, and post 'm here... Also, what happens when you try and boot it without any memory modules, and without graphics card. Does is perform differently then?

Pooka, me thinks there'll be no need for you to check the settings once the new router has arrived: both your pc's are on automatic settings, they will both ask the router for an IP address, and the router will assign both of 'm a unique address. No need to check, no need to change! At Snacko: Yes, you're right. But your idea to bypass the router would not work, as Pooka said. The things we looked at we're the only things we could try... for now...

Hm, I now recall a similar issue, not with a router, but with a switch. (Basically, a router is a switch with some added functionality, like a firewall...) The switch had a bad capacitor, which only failed if more than one computer was connected to it. With just one computer connected to it, it would do fine. I replaced the capacitor, and all was good... So, in the end, yes, the router is the main suspect here...
