  1. +1 This isn't the same as when we changed from UP 2.01 to UP3. Its completely different. That whole shite fest was due to the difference that TEAM D put upon us whether be design or serendipity with the class file changes between 4.09 and 4.10. Since we are all now running 4.10 UP3rc4, this will be a simple patch from where we are now already. That said, it won't hurt one jot, for a few of us to test first, and then for Friar's sensible vision of events to be undertaken. The only problem i foresee, is that this uses a new apparently 'final' version of Zuti, and/but this has been the source of issues with many mis.files, so..... Massive bonuses of this patch will be the Up Updater from old, which from past recollections solved much anguish. So i'll like some others test first........ but i don't really foresee to much transitional change imo. The problem will be missions that are somehow no longer compatible with the new version, due to changed aircraft and/or object names. And loadouts. And whatnot... In that light, the troubles are still the same... What we need is a list what has changed regarding those objects... If we have that, I can change / create a tool that will automatically fix any issues... Biggest trouble is, we will only find out by running the new version, I don't think I'm gonna test over 1500 coop missions... ;-) I'll surely be very happy with the auto-updater! Oh, and +1 on what Colin said. Do some testing first, a few peeps, indivudually, share the problems, analyse them... And that 'upgrade weekend' --- splendid idea --- though me thinks it'll take a whole week or so, but not two!
  2. This year's Holiday Inn arrangement thing was brilliant... If we could have that again... would be pretty darn nice...
  3. What if you get them to drop their bombs below 40m / 2 sec arming delay? They won't explode then, so they do get ' delivered' in a way ;-)
  4. Well, my guess is he had to evade that car that is parked in the middle of the run way. And, he did a good job! It was close, you can see that by the tire marks, but he did it!
  5. Ubuntu 10.4 !! Comes with Open Office ... all free, all legal ... If you just need to browse the Internet, read some Email, edit some documents... it'll do just fine. (Though it offers much more...) No need for anti-virus (yet) Runs great, even on older hardware ...
  6. Comparison? A few years ago, I spent a silly amount of money on a Sony DVD DL drive... it worked. And it broke down. Nowadays, I just by what the shop has. As cheap as possible. And those work too. Initially, they all work fine, and yes, depending on how much you use 'm, they all wear out and brake down. So, I'm going for availability first, then cheapability...
  7. We need the JP-Cambridge combo ...
  8. Kira, The last number is army designation, 1=Red, 2=Blue The number in front of that is the max number of objects in one line in the mission ie. in one object in the FMB.... But, that's all old information, as we now can have up to 12 shermans in UP3 RC4 ... I think ...
  9. I'd just go for the slower SATA II connection. Saves 32 pounds, and you'll be sure it will work fine, albeit, yes, a bit slower. Would you notice though? Do you boot your system every 15 minutes? Hm, if you odo lots of video processing, it might be of benefit... And, by the next mobo you buy, you'll feel like you got yourself a brand new harddisk as well...
  10. 11. Ah, that's in this thread: Vista Home Premium x64 and 1946
  12. There's a thread on UBI's Community Help forum: how to get il21946 to work with win7 FIX That might possibly help you installing a clean version... As for the current config: Try and run it with sound disabled. If it runs better, then try 'No hardware acceleration' or 'safe DirextX settings'. From what I read about this laptop on the Internet, to get it running good/better, me thinks you need to focus on grapics settings... turn 'm down, forget about stencil buffer and perfect mode and stuff, keep it simmle,,,
  13. Won't that buff out?
  14. Good news! Will be needing a View, with a room!
  15. Thanks for this Crash, I downloaded the set... could be fun as coops ... even with one-sided briefs... who reads 'm anyways?
  16. Not that interested in those money pics, but if you can post some of the landscape, that'd be nice...
  17. 'Ross, No pillaging! (..)" lol
  18. Brilliant... I think I heard that uniformed guy say the Shturmovik helped the French win the bob!
  19. That'd be cool, have the software lock X and Y values. But, you'd want the stick to remain in its physical position, won't you? Because... your aircraft might get damaged when you activate the stick and it's not in the same position... a wild manouver, high G's... Oh, but the software should then be able to move the stick values slowly over to the new X and Y Values, yes, that might work...
  20. Now that's a great piece of wiring there, so neatly done! All those buttons on the stick, within a hand's reach, that's cool. Just a wild idea/thought: Wouldn't it be nice that when you'd take your hand off of the stick, the stick would remain in the position you left it at? I mean some kind of an instant lock that is applied when you do not grip the stick. That would make button work that's out of a hand's reach easier, I think. Yeah, but how to implement such a thing?? One would be needing FFB, and a sensor, and some re-programming of the FFB driver software...
  21. I'm with Tonar, I don't get it. Who's Michael?
  22. Thanks Swep, did it work out all right?
