  1. Pix of the Fw-190D-9, soon to be available as an AI opponent for DCS: P-51D owners and a little further ahead as a fully flyable DCS aircraft in it's own right. As if that's not enough, confirmation on planned WW2 content including maps! Wh00t!!!!! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?s=f791dbb66343bec06a3e1183f1454817&t=104773 Thanks to Fruity for highlighting the original link.
  2. Well, I've thinned it down to these...
  3. It's been on my calender since Feb - only a serious accident is going to keep me from attending, and even then I'd bloomin well crawl there if necessary!
  4. Spectacular, if nothing else....
  5. No 80% PP available on a Mk1 (no 'a') Spit there Todd! Only coarse or fine pitch available. Guys for a good explanation on Spitfire props and the general differences between fixed, variable and constant speed units for all aircraft watch this video; NOTE: This video details the A2A Simulations Spitfire for FSX and cannot be translated directly to CloD, in particular the current two pitch prop modelling for the Spitfire MkI in CloD is incorrect as you cannot tweak between coarse/fine pitch; takeoff in fine and anywhere above 120mph go to coarse. Fly level to pick up speed, get to 160-180mph indicated then start your climb. Yes, in coarse at the lower end of the airspeed range you will have crap revs and power - thats just the way it is! So keep your speed up. As rule of thumb - with a CSU you set a desired RPM for the engine and the prop endeavours to maintain that RPM whatever speed/throttle setting... IF IT CAN. With a two pitch/variable you must adjust the RPM depending on your speed/throttle - Speed goes above 120mph, prop lever comes back is a simple rule. Your aim is to prevent the rpm exceeding 3000rpm.
  6. That's no wall Rox, that's a railway line (you mistake the ballast for stone wall). Even more glad you didn't end up on it - surviving all that only to get hit by the local 17:47 to Sheperdswell would have been an ignomious end indeed!
  7. Awesome screenies Arthur! I'm with Todd; hi-res version of him brushing past that 88 please! I need a new desktop.
  8. Oh dear God. It's a bit good. I see a lot of too late nights in my future...
  9. Updated here via the auto-updater; did so at about 2010hrs GMT and was done on the stroke of midnight - patience is the key, as it seems the mirror sites bandwidth has taken a hammering in the past day. Bonus of using the auto-updater includes no faffing about uninstalling the lot and then having to download and reinstall the update for DCS: World and then each module individually, plus it won't destroy your graphic or control settings. Be advised that auto-updater will only run automatically for the first time you load the game on a given day; if you need to run it but have already been playing DCS that day then go to your Start>All Programs>Eagle Dynamics>DCS World>Update DCS World. Go get a cuppa, do some ironing or chase some sheep for a bit.... and it's done! Got better optimised loading times, the FPS drop whilst firing the .50s is much less for me now and the new Su-27 3D model is VERY pretty.
  10. More screenies for those who missed the first time:
  11. SUH-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!
  12. Surprised you're expecting anything other than a yes from me. It's a given!
  13. Ooooooooh.... I've think I've just messed meself a little bit.....

    Uk Airshows

Shoreham & Eastbourne are usually a firm definite for me - I'd also, after Kevs posting in the video section, like the chance to see Dan Griffith throw The Spirit of Kent Spitfire around at Manston with my own eyes! And the Mayday first show of the year at Dx is always a great way to kick off the airshow season!
  16. When? Not sure, was thinking soon but actually might hold out for the next HSFX patch to fix the Mossies; either that or we take it out of Expert Mode.... Thoughts? Home Bases en route...? I'm torn on this issue - sure I'd like to give the option to those who for whatever reason canot make the start-time but really want to have a go, however I think for the sheer tension and racking up the challenge factor, perhaps we leave them out. Currently I'm 60/40 in favour of not having spawn points en route.
  17. Sorry to scupper all your hard work Kev but.... we flew the mission last night @ 2m/s wind NOT the 4m/s I had thought and calculated. Tried it at 4m/s and woah! Taxiing damn near impossble. Will leave it at 2m/s. Have edited the course corrections and changes to GS accordingly on 1st thread, however this means your leg timings are now wrong....! Oops....
  18. Recon Photos of the target now up in the gallery. Just so as you know, grab0012 is the plan view with North at the top of the pic.
