  1. Wouldn’t make much difference Tom, AMD has problems too. PCS will patch it fully before it comes to you anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Seeing as we are referring new starters to this thread to help them get set up, I have re-worked the OP to reflect our current standards.
  3. Congratulations on retiring mate - now, there's this war on....
  4. I’ve not had that either Todd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. That is very good news indeed - I have a lot of time for Logitech. I'll download that and take a look.
  8. Welcome back Kev - hope to see you online here a lot more now!
  9. I have had major issues with Windows 10 but my controls now stay plugged in all the time via a powered USB 3 hub and (crosses fingers) the reassignment problems seem to have gone. I'm not using anything other than the Windows 10 software to control the following; a Sidewinder 2 FFB stick, Saitek Pro Flight pedals, a CH Quadrant and my own Frankenjabo box o'switches The Saitek software has not been updated in a long time (I think) and was not fully compatible with Windows 7 let alone Windows 10. I still use my x52 for Elite albeit very infrequently but I'm just using the in-game assignments not the software. If it's not working in Windows 7 Dave, I doubt that a move to Windows 10 is going to fix it. Could be wrong though...
  10. True, and what a fine job they made of it too. (I worked for the company delivering the NHS upgrade (I was on a different project thank God) - complete clusterf**k from beginning to end) I'm sure the decision has been made too, but I doubt the user base will accelerate the process especially if the replacement 64-bit software doesn't exist. Anyhoo...all a moot point until MS actually decide to tell their customers what they're planning.
  11. You truly are a splendidly public-spirited chap! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I’m not sure this is automatically the case. Less than 8% of new Windows machines were shipping with a 32-bit operating system in 2015 and (according to some figures) that’s down to less than 2% now so it sounds like nVidia are just making a sound commercial decision. Too many businesses and governments rely on 32-bit applications for MS or Apple to simply pull the plug on 32-bit application support overnight. That said, it will happen eventually, I’m sure but we’re probably OK for a few years yet. Don't forget that Windows had 16-bit application support all the way up to Vista! 13. Blitz is now for sale on the IL-2 GBS website - https://il2sturmovik.com/store/cliffs-of-dover/
  14. Fortunately this has no bearing on the ability of Windows to run IL-2 1946. It just means that anyone running on a 32-bit version of Windows won't be able to get any more driver updates.
  15. The HUD is available still Flak, unless someone can come back with the fix earlier, I’ll dig out the solution for you tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I’ve listed the changes in the OP Dave. For my money it’s well worth it. What’s wrong with your steam account? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. It's fully compatible mate, I just copied mine over and it worked first time.
  18. Sounds like you might have found a bug there FT. Could I suggest you post it onto the TFS bug tracker. I’ll try and find the link for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That's my point Delta - there's nothing wrong with the files but they do something which your AV flags as being suspicious - a 'false positive' if you will. Sometimes this is due to a file carrying out an operation in a folder which is protected - The Program Files folders are a case in point - If you think back to IL-2-1946 when people started switching from XP to later OSes, we had to move game folders out of the Program Files folders because of the way in which the game was trying write data back to its internal files was being interfered with by Windows. If you move your Steam folder out of the Program Files folder (there's a setting in steam for this) to a location which is unprotected (C:\ for instance) you might not have this problem. On the other hand I am firmly convinced that (the free version of) AVG is pretty naff and does do this sort of thing a lot.
  20. For what it's worth, my Norton AV did not seem concerned by Blitz.I have a feeling though it might be in part due to the steam folder location - blitz is a 64-bit application but your steam folder is in Program Files (x86) which is a location for 32-bit applications - does windows handle programs differently if they're installed here? Again, for what it's worth, my Steam folder is in E: \steam\... so it's outside the 'risky' Program Files folder. I have updated the OP to reflect the changes to the CloD server made by FT.
  21. TFS are working on a patch to fix the launcher problem Snacko.
  22. Beaufighter gun sound and cowl flaps issues are both with the developers although I don't have the gun issue on my machine. We might get a patch for the sounds but animated cowl flaps will probably have to wait for v5.0. I copied my settings over from 4.312 so the axis problem hadn't affected me. I've checked on the TFS beta forum though and it has been previously reported. A cold engine will require several minutes warm up before advancing the throttle otherwise you'll cause the engine to stop.
  23. Thought it might be useful if we pinned a post with useful links and things at the top here. IL-2 Mission Planner http://il2missionplanner.com/ (Thanks to Thrudd)
  24. For goodness sake don't go getting competent. We have our reputation to consider...
