  1. 50 not out, good work. Happy birthday Mr P Jabo
  2. Kimo m8, check out the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme - There's a distinct chance that board would ROCK! It's expensive but it's v. sexy. Jabo
  3. Personally, I'd rather they spent their time getting the game sorted as opposed to messing about with promotional material. Bear in mind that we've been waiting for this for 6 years and have been watching developments closely but new and prospective players wouldn't know the difference. It's unfortunate about the errors, but if the leak hadn't happened maybe the situation would have been different. Jabo
  4. I think asus is the more likely option for me Kimo. I'm keen on having a look at the bios replacement too. Question is though, which one?
  5. Hmmm, that's not going to work for me I don't think, but I'm looking at an ASUS or Gigabyte board. Jabo
  6. They do do pre-orders m8, but not for every game. In any case if you're after the collectors edition, I think that's only available from the ubishop. Jabo PS it's not on play or amazon yet.
  7. Ah, so the integrated graphics stuff is pointless for us as far as CoD is concerned. May as well go for a 'k' and P67 then. I feel a gtx580 coming on too.
  8. Tea towel? Anybody pre-ordered yet? Jabo
  9. Off the back of CGs thread about the new SB i-series Intel processors, I thought I'd kick this one off to cover the mainboards. As I understand it, the question is which chipset? There are two new ones, the H67 and the P67. Apparently the H67 is 'locked' to limit (prevent?) overclocking, but takes advantage of the HD graphics gubbins built in to the processors, whereas the P67 is 'unlocked' for the overclockers, but doesn't use the graphics. This means that you could save money if you're not bothered about overclocking by going for the 2600 as opposed to the 2600K (the 'K' denotes unlocked) and get a board with the H67 chipset (also cheaper). Question is how much difference does using the graphics stuff built into the processor make? or is it better to get the unlocked hardware and clock the machine to get an overall boost. What do you think?
  10. Ditto - 2600K for me (possibly)
  11. Happy birthday Dave. Hope you've had a good one. Jabo
  12. lol
  13. Forty-two.
  14. Don't you be disrespecting the hippies. It's like assault or something. Jabo
  15. Wasn't me either, I just do phones... Jabo
  16. I know Tom, but you haven't got any shelves that needed putting up... Jabo
  17. Not tonight m8, it's a 'honey do' situation. Jabo
  18. 'Helen' has had something of a chequered past if memory serves. I have a feeling she ended up in a field a few years back after what the CAA referred to as an 'off-airfield landing' lol. The good news is that she has since been repaired and the pilot (Rob Lamplough) only needed a clean pair of trousers. Jabo
  19. Lol @ jabo. You're right of course 'liz is the c model with 'b' wings. In my defence, I wasn't really paying attention (it was kinda early) Jabo
  20. Ouch, lucky to get away with a busted wheel there. Especially as 'Helen is a B-C model with an Allison engine (I think). Not too many of those about. I'm guessing that happened on the Sunday, 'cos I don't remember it from the Saturday. Might be the DDz-induced alcoholic haze though. Jabo
  21. Oh well, by the time I posted, the ipboard app on my iphone hadn't told me the problem had been resolved. Beaten to the punch again (sigh) Jabo
  22. Or run msconfig to find the programs which are starting automatically Services.msc is worth doing too. Google blackviper to get a list of potentially unnecessary services which can be stopped Jabo
  23. Thanks Jack, awesome photos but there's a few there I've no idea about, but I'm going to enjoy the research. Bang goes Monday! Jabo
  24. FYI I'm running three internal drives of 500gb apiece; c: is for os and most software. D: & e: are a mirrored RAID for data, il2 & anything else important (I tend to hold on to drivers and program installation files so I can quickly reinstall a program if I need to). The data drive is then backed up to two 1tb external drives which are only connected to the pc while transferring data, the rest of the time, one is at my folks place and the other is in the fire safe here. Overkill? Yes, but I've lost a ton of data in the past and I'm not gambling on it again.
