  1. You might want to think about downloading teamviewer too, so if I or one of the other guys need to remote in to help, you're all ready. We managed to do two complete set ups on painless's rig that way, so it's a useful facility Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi Barnaby, if you can get online tomorrow evening, we can work through it with you - it's a little difficult with the time delay here. Jabo
  3. Actually FT, there is a possible issue here which you might have overlooked - I see from your screenshots Barnaby that you are running the game out of the c:\users\desktop folder. I don't think that using this folder is a good idea for two reasons - one is because the files in this folder are cached into the memory at boot up, thereby increasing boot times and possibly hogging unnecessarily large quantities of the memory - I'm dredging this up from somewhere so I might be hazy on the details. Two is that this folder is a sort of 'system' folder (i.e. created for you by the windows installer) and I'm not sure the UAC doesn't interfere with it. Bottom line is, I think you need to move your game folder to somewhere else (c:\il-2 for example) before you do anything more. Once moved, you can try checkmods again or install the patches whichever suits. Of course I might be talking utter rubbish... Jabo

Well actually yes, despite Apple's endeavors to get me to use iCloud, I do keep backups - the only question is where?

  5. Told ya he would be! Jabo
  6. Changed the title for you Dom. I thought that was a little detailed for a 1/48 compared with my Beaufighter/Seafire. Lovely job though m8. Jabo
  7. Brilliant, thank you Arthur - good man. I recognise that airfield, might have been there once or twice. Jabo
  8. One for FT I think. Chkmods is his pidgeon. Sit tight Barnaby, he'll be along..
  9. Sounds good. Need more intel on when and where before I can make positive commitment though. Jabo
  10. Hi Barnaby, the problem is that the il-2 game writes back to the game folder when running and this falls foul of the UAC cos windows doesn't like write backs into protected folders. Sooo, to get the game to run properly, you need to move the entire folder to an 'unprotected' location, say c:\ or if you have a second drive or partition d:\ (this is what I do, and has the advantage of not being affected if you have to wipe the system drive) Oh, and use checkmods, it's really clever and will give you a perfect install,, but move that folder first! 11. Ditto, can be around during the day tomorrow as well.
  12. Ditto here too - I'm using an MSFFB2 along with an X52 throttle and my button box Jabo
  13. Welcome to the pound Barnaby! Pull up a kennel. Jabo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. @Arthur - Good point - The short answer is that it won't. Athough you could get in the rest of the aircraft into a container (or two), the 16m single piece wing section won't. They're working on a number of options such as a flat-bed trailer for a roll-on, roll-off cargo ship (does such a thing even exist?) or using a cargo airliner.
  16. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to this month's Flypast magazine, although there were plans to fly the aircraft to Virginia 'the long way round' including a stay in the UK for the airshow season next year, these have now been scrapped and the owner is now planning to crate the aircraft and take it straight to the US. So no Mossie at Legends next year I'm afraid. Jabo

So your 1/32 Heinkel will be more like a 1/24 size?
  18. Or alternatively, why not run it before starting the game? So along with forgetting to start tir, you could forget to do this as well. Jano Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hmmm, i'm obviously channelling someone called jano... Jabo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I'll second that - and thank you FT for the hosting job!
  20. Odd, I thought a big part of Hissy was triggers for certain things to happen dependent on the actions of the players - Must have nodded off. Jabo
  21. Hmm, just thinking aloud here really, but could a spawn point be made 'live' triggered by the location of the flight? In the case of long escort missions could shot down dogz start again from home base with fresh escorts to rendezvous with and bring the bombers home safely. ASR Catalina to pick up ditched crews? This idea is a stunner - well done FT Jabo
  22. I agree Chet, this is a big step up (and the gap to CloD narrows - or widens depending on your point of view) Jabo
  23. How about making the spawn points time dependant rather than on the location of a flight? I.e. flight 1. Arrival time at waypoint 4 is 30 mins from take off so possible to spawn there from 25 to 35 mins. Dunno really, just thinking aloud. Would the triggers be any use here? 24. Oops, missed this, HB Ross! Jabo
