  2. With myself and Painless recently getting nVidia 8800 GT cards, we found that although we got lovely perfect settings, we also experienced Vertical Shearing of the cockpit when using head tracking software. It took us a day or two to find the solution, so here it is for those who go down the same route as ourselves. You can alter some of these settings of your own conf.iie in order to get the right FPS for your PC. But to get PERFECT settings, like the lovely water, you need HardwareShaders=1 set. conf.ini [Render_OpenGL] TexQual=3 TexMipFilter=3 TexCompress=0 TexFlags.UseDither=1 TexFlags.UseAlpha=0 TexFlags.UseIndex=0 TexFlags.PolygonStipple=1 TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0 TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1 TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1 TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0 TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1 TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1 TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1 TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1 TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0 TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0 TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1 TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1 TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1 TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1 TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1 TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1 TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1 HardwareShaders=1 Shadows=2 Specular=2 SpecularLight=2 DiffuseLight=2 DynamicalLights=1 MeshDetail=2 VisibilityDistance=3 Sky=2 Forest=3 LandShading=3 LandDetails=2 LandGeom=3 TexLarge=1 TexLandQual=3 TexLandLarge=1 VideoSetupId=17 Water=4 Effects=2 ForceShaders1x=0 TypeClouds=1 PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.15 PolygonOffsetUnits=-3.0 NVIDIA Control Panel - Manage 3D settings IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles + Ace Expansion Pack You can set your AA, AF and all settings as you see fit for your PC spec, but to prevent Vertical Shearing, we found this solution - MULTI-DISPLAY/MIXED-GPU ACCELERATION = MULTIPLE DISPLAY PERFORMANCE TRIPLE BUFFERING = OFF VERTICAL SYNCH = FORCE ON
  3. And this one below was taken by one of our spies at the Allied base...
  4. ~S~ and Welcome Fumps! Fresh meat, err I mean, a complete novice eh! We've not had one of those for quite some time by my reckoning. Any questions, just ask away. We have loads of experts on many topics, natural and unnatural. Hope to see you in the air soon.
  5. I forgot to take a picture of the surf breaking on the beach. I'm not sure if this white foam was added to the new DLLs, but watching those waves travel around the coastline is fantastic too. I think my kill/death ratio is going to suck from now on, as I'll be too busy looking down at the water instead of checking my 6.
  6. The Steven Seagal stuff at the end is hilarious.
  7. This is what I've been missing all these years... I'm just blown away by this!
  8. ... be able to do this in IL-2 huh? Frickin' Oleg suxx0rs! http://www.break.com/index/plane-loses- ... light.html Also... How NOT To Release a Bear Into the Wild - http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/view/229237/
  9. I'm not 100% on them exactly, but the new DLLs are just an update of the current IL-2 DLLs that improve the graphic quality. They will be included in the last patch, v.4.09, but the 1C:Maddox team are making them available now for testing. As for using them with your system, I don't think it'll have much affect. As it sounds to me that what you are saying is that you've got hardware problems with the card's fan. Does your PC work fine and then BSOD after a while on it's own accord? Or does it only BSOD when attempting to run IL-2?
  10. Have a good'un and what did you get?
  11. Fritzl, If the official drivers are causing BSODs, then that's a big problem. Have you tried the NGO nVidia drivers? http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=nvidia2 If they work fine, then try the new game DLLs - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=2839
  12. Here's another 'landing' that occurred due to some strong winds here in Central Europe over the weekend... http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ddb_1204404185

  15. That's what I've got in mine. Water=4 . . Landgeom=3 . . AA=8xQ . . You know you want it Delta7!!!
  16. Well it's good to see the ISP admitting it's their fault. I hope it's all fixed asap. GK
  17. That is sweet Delta7!!!
  18. Has your Router got a log file you can look in to? What sort of connection do you have? Is it just TS that drops out or your entire internet connection?

  20. Klinger wanted to know how my new PC performs, so here is the results of my first test... IL-2 settings at PERFECT (as far as I can tell, Water=4 & Hardwareshaders=1 amongst others.) Resolution: 1024x768 32bit AntiAliasing: 8xQ Anistrophic Filter: 4x MipMap Detail: Trilinear V-Sync: ON (60Hz) Black Death track 2008-02-25 19:46:58 - il2fb Frames: 8493 - Time: 150000ms - Avg: 56.620 - Min: 14 - Max: 740 Ignore that high of 740fps. The Black Death track ended just before Fraps stopped recording, that's why it's so high. But I don't know why it says a low of 14fps? I watched the entire track and never noticed any slowdown, even when there were huge explosions and AA fire going on.
