  2. I always thought that I was quite good at aircraft recognition but this thread has totally harpooned that idea ! Very impressive lads. Brainless.
  3. Hello OT ! Very glad to have you back ASAP m8. Just so you are prepared, IL2 now has all metal monoplanes with retractable undercarriage and metal propellor blades and everything . Painless.
  4. It is haunting for sure, perhaps no more so than to the Japanese ! Painless.
  5. Spot on Swooper ! The only difference was that we asked for " popadams, salad, dips and shit and all that and everything else isn't it " P.
  6. Still is a good idea Arthur, just needs lots of waypoints lol P.
  7. Admiral Arjen, Not sure if this will help but what if the ships in the front row of the convoy were travelling at 22 knots, the next row at 21 knots , the next row at 20 knots, the next at 19 knots ETC. This would mean that the convoy would in effect spread out over an hour but maybe not too much for our mission purposes ? Would this help avoid collisions due to lead ships taking a long time to sink if they are hit ? If this is a bad idea could difference in speed be used in any way to help ? Painless .
  8. Brilliant ! Would you have small escort carriers with Martlets and Condors to shoot up and U Boats to sink and stuff ? P.
  9. Hey BB, You have a duty to at least try them to see if they function correctly ASAP. That way in the unlikely event that they are duff, you will have time to change them .........no ? P : )
  10. Will do Chet, thank you. P.
  11. Arthur, Do you realise how many Squadron Leaders and later Station Officers backs I had to walk up and down, covered with jojoba oil for my feet to look like that m8 !!! Before you ask why? Your feet have to look that good to get away with those shoes...simples. Anyway, everyone knows that "CH" stands for cwality hardwhere . P. x
  12. Hello Chaps, As you know Chet has just lost his mom. Also my friend Pete (DD Parts ) lost his mum last night. The festive season is fast approaching so at the risk of sounding soppy I thought I would share a kick up the backside which I've given to myself with you guys.... If you still can and while you still can give your mum/mom some serious affection this Christmas. If you already have a good relationship with her then great , enjoy ! If not then make a special effort to improve things. Apologies if this post is simply stating the obvious but we often, in our oh so busy lives, take for granted the most precious of things, until perhaps we loose them . Nuff said. Cheers, Mick.
  13. Hello Christoff, I have size 9 feet and a set of CH pedals which I have been using for the last 7 years. Only ever had one small problem with them which was a dragging brake pedal, (cured with a kraft knife) Now you have a balanced report m8 : ) cheers, Mick.
  14. How much for new discs and pads on that baby ? Lol Painless : )
  15. Nice post Colin. I don't know if I ever mentioned it but I researched my grandad on my fathers side because the story was that he had served on submarines in the Dardanells in WW1. He was supposed to have been in a famous action where by his sub was stuck submerged on anti submarine nets for a couple of days in the Dadanells. He died fairly young just after the war due to damaged lungs, supposedly caused by the battery acid fumes on board the sub. I sent his service record to the submarine museum curator in Portsmouth to decipher, (it was hard to read and make sense of). It turned out that he was often drunk, often in fights and often in the cells. He lost his rank a couple of times and was never on submarines of any sort ! The medals that were believed to have been awarded to him for the Dardanells action turned out to be general service medals issued in their millions. The curator said that he was likely a colourful character given to tall story telling. No glory but interesting stuff non the less. Cheers, Mick.
  16. Count me in Tomsk sir, sounds like a hoot ! "A Typhoon , a Typhoon, my Ringdom for a Typhoon !" Painless.
