Any coop can be converted into a dogfight right FT. You have done just that for our long missions on Sundays in the past I think. If someone shows me how to do that I could find a few suitable coops to convert. P.

I've read those points being discussed Bongo and one chap who was also a multi pilot said that in his opinion it would be possible for a fire to take out the ACARS (is that right ?) system and the radio so that it flashed up on the dash then the pilot would throw the circuit breakers to turn them off , perhaps attempt to land at the nearest safe airfield ? He proposed that fumes either took them out or made them exit the cockpit while they were still in the process of changing course leaving the plane to fly on in whatever state it was left in. He quoted another example of a previous case where a build up of fumes in a cockpit caused the crew to have to leave and shut the door behind them because it happened so quickly. I think in that case it was the front tyre smouldering that was the cause. Like you say so many events would have to happen in the correct order, for that to be what happened. Does something like this seem more likely to you than terrorism or a political statement on the part of the pilot ? Mick.

I have been following this with great interest also....IMHO. I think the theory of a fire amongst the electrics and subsequent toxic smoke taking the crew and passengers out leaving the aircraft to fly on until the fuel ran out seems to tick more boxes than most. The conflicting and confusing information release was perhaps caused by various attempts to arse cover over the last two weeks ? Mick.

Hello chaps, My friend John (who some of you met last year) wishes to sell his RAF flying jacket and signed Lancaster picture as a pair. I know it's alot of money but they do qualify as investment items which can only go up in value as time goes by. He will not be offering them on Ebay or any other such site , only to private collectors. That said, I offered to advertise them on our site just in case anyone is interested so here they are... A ‘brace’ of WW2 items for sale. The first item is an early 40/41 Irvin sheepskin flying jacket in excellent original condition, the jacket has no cuts, rips, repairs etc. And has all original working DOT zippers with Air Ministry crown. The leather is supple and the fleece does not show the usual wear at the cuffs and rear, It doesn’t seem it was heavily used at the time. It does have a very small patch of ww2 green camo paint on the collar but it’s hard to spot and seems contemporary so best left alone. An original jacket that has had no work or repairs and in this condition is now becoming difficult to find even with ‘specialists’. There is a faint name and squadron number on the label (L. AWL 26) but I have no information on the person.
