  1. Thanks for the replies gentlemen but I feel you both missed the important fact, .The use of waypoints is not applicable here
  2. Can someone put me right on how to set an airstart on a dogfight map at sea please. Also can you orinintate the direction of flight at the start? Need it for a project i am working on. Cheers Friar

    Get some!

In Canada only BG owns land large enough to fire them.
  4. As it our want, during a quiet moment tonight on ts, talk turned to drink, no change there I hear you say, and I got to wondering, if we should not declare an Official Dangerdogz Cocktail. So its over to you guys for a suggested recipie. A few suggestions have been put forward, more in the way of decoration actually. It was suggested that it have an unbrella and sparkler for Painless, as to its drink elements what do you think. Once we have decided on the recipie perhaps we could have a dogz tasting session. All on ts at the same time. Cheers ! Friar

    Linux undelete?

you have just experienced a new quantum time unit. Its invoked at the point of key press and is defined as an "ohno" second.
  7. Ok issue solved. After checking the event log (thanks to the pointer chaps on ts) it said that the "Server service had hung". did a bit of googling and it turns out that the problem was being caused by my Lexmark print spooler needing to have a dependancy on the service. so as a test i stoped the server service and disabled it and the machine booted up just like it had always done. i have a registry fix that will create the dependancy for when (and if) i try setting up the network again. many thanks once again for the input chaps. Salute Friar
  8. ok, i now have a more serious problem. after trying to run the network setup wizard again, i now have the problem that my original pc boots up ok, i can log into my account ok, i can click on desktop icons ok but if i move the mouse to the start button, i get the egg timer. when i try and shut down explorer.exe says it is not responding. i can run normal in safe mode with networking enabled (as i am now to post this) if i leave the new pc plugged into the router i get a black screen after logging in to my account. with the new pc not plugged in it loads up ok (still with the egg timer when hovering over the task bar) i have disabled file and printer sharing in the properties section of the lan connection to see if that helped but it didnt. can i copy explorer.exe from my other pc if this version is corrupted? any other advice?
  9. Hi chaps, I need some pointers on setting up a home network in order to move some files across from my old pc to a "new" one (well, its one that came with me when i left work but has the potential for greater expansion than the dell i currently use.) I now have 2 pcs both running xp pro sp2. I have a netgear router DG834G obviously both machines have nic cards and can both connect to the net through the router. i have tried running the network wizard but am obviously doing something wrong. Any pointers / hand holding would be very welcome. Salute Friar
  10. hi jabo, sorry for delay in getting back to you as i have been away. yes, i am still looking for a flat screen for a second hand computer i've just picked up. perhaps you could drop me a pm so that we could discuss cost and arrangements? cheers friar
  11. i did'nt think that you could change what was recorded in a track. if icons were on, then that is that, if i am wrong, so much the better.

    Very strange

Toad, IE7 had some security features which really screwed up a friend who after upgrading could not get to her on line bank! I use Fireox and find it much better. there are IE addins for it as well. I have'nt touched IE in ages.
  13. Following on from a comment that jediteo made the other night about how to modify Track Ir to work in a bright room I conducted a little experiment. jedi suggested that if you are in a room where the light sends the trackir camera crazy and just will not work then the light can be filtered out by placing the insides of a floppy disk over the camera. Experiment. 1. remove the floppy disk from inside of a floppy disk.. 2. start up your track ir on a bright sunny day. 3. click view and tracking from within the track ir software. you track ir screen will probably be awash with red and green reflected light. 4. Hold the floppy disk over the camera. the reflected light disappears. now the only way i could test the next bit was as follows... Whilst holding the floppy disk in front of the camera, i pointed my tv remove control at the camera pressed a channel number. this brought up a green dot on the track ir screen. this confirms what jediteo said, the disk blocks out normal light but lets through infra red light. So to conclude, although this mod will not work for the normal reflected spots system, if you have the clip or can wire together 3 ir l.e.ds it should, theoretically work the track ir system. if any one would like to take this further, please post. ......so the cat is put in a sealed box..........
  14. I would like to say well done to eveyone that took part last night (was there anyone in the dogz that was NOt there last night!) I hope that eveyone that wanted to fly did so and that the "pool" system worked for both sides. If there is anyone who did not think it worked, please drop me PM so that I can think about what to do for the next one
  15. badger, there is nothing you can do in the game, it is in the domain of the people who have the skill to do the mods. you could try the "all aircraft arcade" forum which seems to be the home of every thing mods for this game.
  16. Hi guys Saturday 6th sep 14:30 in the uk. i am in doors on my own. pooring with rain outside so am powering my game up to practice. if anyone out there wants to join me perhaps we can go on the dog fight server. Salute Friar
  17. This event is intended for K9 Squadron members only. It was not intended to be a "fully open" event. I sent out the original email and perhaps should have made it clear. I appolgise for any inconvienence caused. We are always looking for other squads to set events like this up with and perhaps we could do something togther in the future. Salute Friar.
  18. what about adding it to a blank spit mk1 skin, would that be possible?
  19. hi guys, I have just purchased a very nice model of a spit mk1 with bob markings DW E. This is a skin that is in the game already, however, i think the lettering is a little large compared to my model (which is supposed to be very accurate) Is there anyone skilled enough to be able to either re-do it or do it with reduced (not by much) lettering size. I dont have the skill or software to, so am hoping there is someone out there. It will be cool to fly a plane with the exact model sitting in front of me. just for info the plane is serial no R6595 of 610 Squadron "County Of Chester" which was based at Biggin Hill (just up the road from me). It's duties were covering the channel and was part of 11 group. It is being recorded as being flown by a W. Maxwell but was shot down (pilot safe) by a 109. (Dont you just love the internet, all i did was put "spitfire R6595" into google!) many thanks Cheers Friar
  20. will the joystick work on its own? does it not have to connect to the throttle and the throttle to the pc?
  21. I am not sure I agree/happy with your inclusion of that smile Toad. If the American conitations are the same as the English, i think its a bit strong in this instance.
  22. :k9lmao:
  23. I have the x52 and more than happy with it. I could'nt afford the pro at the time. I have been able to config it to suit me, although it is so versatile, I am still finding new and improved ways of mapping the functions. I have also just bought the pro pedals and they are great.

    Multiplayer Help

Vulching (vul-ching) To Vulch. The act of attacking by means of strafing and or rockets enemy aircraft parked or attempting to take off from an airfield. Players that "Vulch" are known as "Vulchers". On a friendly dog fight map, this is considered bad sportsmanship.
